Chapter 62 Hypocritical Kinship

Jiang Ziyu stroked Yu Ze’s hair, beaming with pride. “Everyone talks about how accomplished other people’s children are, but in my heart, my Qianqian is the most outstanding child in the world.”

Everyone present offered feigned humility, but inwardly they all envied Jiang Ziyu’s candid praise for her own daughter.

Wu Xuerou watched the mother and son leave, her anger causing her to clench her skirt.

He had failed to embarrass her, and instead, she had shone brightly in the crowd.

Jiang Ziyu was the center of attention throughout the entire banquet. Even at its conclusion, the mayor personally escorted them out with his wife and son.

The next day, the news section featured Jiang Ziyu alongside the mayor. She occupied a large portion of a page, detailing her achievements as the renowned designer Vivi.

Jiang Residence.

Regretful words drifted from inside the house as Jiang Wenbin paced back and forth in the living room, tapping his head.

“How could she possibly be Vivi?”

“What is all this? The ones who should be soaring are incompetent in important matters, while those who shouldn't are living a life of ease and fame.”

Xu Jingya’s ears were growing calloused from listening, and her vision spun from watching his restless movements.

“Sit down and rest, you’ve been pacing all evening,” Xu Jingya stood up from the sofa and reached out to grab Jiang Wenbin. She pulled him down onto the sofa and pressed a cup of water into his hand.

Jiang Wenbin had no appetite for tea. He set the cup aside, sighed deeply, and felt increasingly uneasy the more he thought about it.

The Jiang Group was gradually declining, its capital chain broken, and the company lacked any standout projects. If this continued, the company would declare bankruptcy within a month.

“Jiang Ziyu is a Jiang by name, after all. She married Di Mingjue because of the Jiang family. Why don’t you talk to her and ask for her help?” Xu Jingya rubbed Jiang Wenbin’s shoulders.

“That’s right!” Jiang Wenbin slapped his thigh. “She’s my daughter, Jiang Wenbin’s daughter. The blood of the Jiang family flows through her veins. No matter how hard-hearted she is, if we humble ourselves, will she still put on airs and refuse to yield?”

As soon as he finished speaking, Jiang Wenbin picked up the landline phone beside him.

He was stunned when he held the phone.

He didn't have Jiang Ziyu’s phone number at all.

After searching for a long time, the invitation for Jiang Ziyu to come home for dinner was successfully sent.

The next day.

Jiang Ziyu drove to the Jiang residence as scheduled. The moment her car stopped at the entrance, the servants inside came forward to greet her warmly.

This was her second time entering the Jiang residence since her return to the country. As the saying goes, people judge others by their appearance; they displayed this to the fullest extent.

Upon entering the courtyard, Jiang Ziyu stopped. She turned to face a flower bed where vibrant red roses bloomed profusely.

“Miss, Madam and Master are waiting for you inside,” the servant reminded her.

Withdrawing her gaze, Jiang Ziyu walked towards the house with a cold elegance.

“Ziyu is back.” Xu Jingya stepped forward to greet her enthusiastically, affectionately linking arms with Jiang Ziyu, as if they were mother and daughter who hadn’t seen each other for days, her words filled with concern. “Are you doing well at the Di family? How is Di Mingjue treating you?”

Shrugging off her hand, Jiang Ziyu looked up at the second floor.

Jiang Feifei’s bloodthirsty gaze was fixed on her, a stark contrast to Xu Jingya in front of her.

It seemed their family hadn't coordinated beforehand!

Ignoring Xu Jingya’s question, Jiang Ziyu walked over and sat on the sofa. She crossed her legs and surveyed the surroundings. “Speak. What is it that you went to such lengths to ask me to come back for?”

Her imposing aura even made Xu Jingya feel timid. She anxiously glanced towards the door, and Jiang Wenbin arrived just in time.

As soon as he entered, Jiang Wenbin adopted a fatherly demeanor and approached Jiang Ziyu. “Ziyu, you’re here. I just went to buy your favorite pastries. I queued for a long time, but I finally managed to get them.”

Xu Jingya took the items and opened them.

Red date cake. Jiang Ziyu didn’t like it. If she remembered correctly, it was Jiang Feifei’s favorite, and she was allergic to red dates.
