Chapter 25 A Visit

At the entrance of the Emperor's residence.

Yan Li, carrying premium fruit and pastries, waited at the door with a heavy heart.

The maid who had just gone in to report came out.

"What did Madam Di say?" Yan Li asked anxiously.

The maid shook her head with difficulty, "I'm sorry, our madam will not see you."

"Are you saying we are here to apologize?" Yan Li asked, though reluctant.

While others were woken by the warm sunshine or kissed by their lovers, she was woken by a kick.

The main subject of the online photos was her husband, Song De.

Officials were not allowed to appear in places of ill repute, let alone him being drunk and surrounded by escorts.

Old Master Song blamed Yan Li for everything, forcing her to apologize today and smooth things over.

The maid shook her head, unwilling to help, "I'm sorry, please leave."

If she couldn't see Madam Di, she didn't know what punishment she would face upon returning.

Yan Li put down the fruit basket, grabbed the railing in front of her, and yelled at the house at the top of her lungs.

"Madam Di, what happened that day was our fault. I've come today to apologize in person."

"Please be magnanimous and accept my apology."

The maid looked around anxiously, trying to stop her, "Why aren't you listening to me? Our madam said she wouldn't see you. Please don't make noise here and leave quickly."

If she couldn't see Jiang Ziyu, was Yan Li going to be dismissed by a mere maid?

She looked around, and with nothing to lose, sat on the steps at the entrance of the Emperor's residence, adopting the posture of a shrewish woman scolding the streets.

The maid had no choice but to seek out Jiang Ziyu.

At the dining table in the living room, Wu Xuerou kept craning her neck to look outside.

"Qianqian, have an egg," Jiang Ziyu said, as if nothing had happened, placing the peeled egg on Qianqian's plate.

Biting her chopsticks, Wu Xuerou couldn't help but ask, "Sister-in-law, I saw the photos online this morning. Did you post them?"

Jiang Ziyu raised her eyes, her gaze falling coldly on her, her actions uninterrupted, "Does it matter if I did?"

Wu Xuerou was tongue-tied and didn't know how to retort. She smiled awkwardly and buried her head in her breakfast.

Jiang Ziyu took a tissue and wiped her hands.

It was time for her to go out and see the person outside.

As she walked out, the maid was hurrying towards her.

"Madam," the maid greeted.

Jiang Ziyu nodded, looking at Yan Li outside the iron gate and Song Qi, who was bullying Qianqian, a mocking expression appearing on her face.

If some people weren't taught a lesson, they wouldn't know the immensity of heaven and earth.

Jiang Ziyu arrived at the gate. Through the fence, she quietly watched Yan Li's fawning expression.

"Qianqian's mother, I truly didn't recognize your stature and have offended you," Yan Li said with a smile, pushing the fruit basket inside continuously.

Jiang Ziyu sidestepped, crossed her arms, and said to her, "You've been shouting here early in the morning. Is that all you have to say?"

She wanted to chat and build rapport, but her intention was seen through.

Yan Li guiltily withdrew her arm and, feigning anger, pushed Song Qi forward.

"I've disciplined him well at home. We're here today for him to apologize to Qianqian."

Song Qi, who was spoiled, pouted and stubbornly dodged Yan Li's push, "I won't apologize to her!"

"You brat, what nonsense are you talking? Hurry up and apologize to auntie," Yan Li said, patting Song Qi on the back.

Song Qi, who had always been pampered, immediately started crying aggrievedly.

Jiang Ziyu watched the mother and son coldly, rubbing her ears from the noise, "Go back. Even if you beat him into the ICU today, I won't accept your apology."

Yan Li was startled. Thinking of the false news she had spread online, she was both scared and unwilling to give up.

Abandoning the sobbing Song Qi, she insisted on pushing through the gate and standing in front of Jiang Ziyu.
