Seeing her lift the hem of her skirt with one hand, Gu Xiuyu strode out from outside the booth, his body blocking Ye Ziyu's path.
Forced to look up at the body within her line of sight, Ye Ziyu looked at him with a solemn expression.
In the same city, there would be opportunities to meet again.
Gu Xiuyu moved aside, watching Ye Ziyu walk past him and towards Di Mingjue.
In the distance, Old Mr. Gu waved towards the booth.
Ye Ziyu looked over curiously.
Gu Xiuyu walked over casually, winking at Ye Ziyu, "We meet again!"
Old Mr. Gu sized them up, "Do you know each other?"
"We've met once," Di Mingjue replied. He looked at Old Mr. Gu, then at Gu Xiuyu, and understood instantly.
"Then let me introduce him properly. This is my youngest son, Gu Xiuyu," Mr. Gu introduced to Ye Ziyu and Di Mingjue.
Gu Xiuyu extended his hand generously.
Di Mingjue extended his hand in response, feeling the firmness of the grip.
As their fingers parted, Gu Xiuyu's gaze lingered on Ye Ziyu.
Whatever Old Mr. Gu was saying into their ears, the three of them were not in the right frame of mind and hadn't heard a word.
When the banquet ended, Ye Ziyu stood by the roadside waiting for Di Mingjue to drive over.
A dazzling red sports car stopped in front of Ye Ziyu, ahead of a black car.
The car window rolled down, and Gu Xiuyu's head emerged from the car, "Need a ride?"
The honking of a car behind them echoed in the air.
Ye Ziyu shook her head, "Thank you, no."
Before she finished speaking, she turned and walked towards the car behind.
Through the rearview mirror, Gu Xiuyu watched as Di Mingjue opened the passenger door, gently lifted Ye Ziyu's skirt, and escorted her into the car.
The two cars met, and Di Mingjue deliberately stopped beside the red sports car.
"Mr. Gu, we're leaving first!"
The black car sped away in front of Gu Xiuyu.
Inside the car.
Di Mingjue glanced at the car's rear, and seeing that it wasn't following, he slowed down.
"Did he pester you at the banquet?"
Did a few casual words count as pestering?
Ye Ziyu pondered for a moment, then shook her head, "No, we just met and chatted for a bit."
"I don't like him. In the future, if you encounter him, avoid him if you can," Di Mingjue stated his attitude towards Gu Xiuyu directly.
He was like a fly, buzzing right in front of Ye Ziyu. Sometimes he'd even hover close, just to annoy him.
Noticing Di Mingjue's furrowed brow, Ye Ziyu tilted her body, resting her chin on her hands as she gazed at him intently, "Your hostility towards him is too great."
Gu Xiuyu was the future heir of the Gu Corporation. Since Di Mingjue had come to Sijiucheng, he would inevitably cross paths with him on some projects. Was he really going to glare at Gu Xiuyu with hostility every time they met?
The car pulled over to the side of the road. Di Mingjue's expression turned serious, "He knows perfectly well you're a married woman, yet he insists on hovering around you to grab your attention. Considering his behavior, my showing him hostility is being polite. If he oversteps, I won't hesitate to act!"
Seeing him clench his fists and look fierce, Ye Ziyu was stunned for a moment, then covered her mouth and chuckled.
He looked like a rooster ready to fight, his proud posture as if he were about to engage in a fierce battle.
Ye Ziyu spoke to placate him, "No matter what he does, it doesn't compare to your standing in my heart."
"Of course," Di Mingjue said smugly.
The car returned to the middle of the road.
...
As usual, they parted ways at the entrance of Ye Corporation.
As Di Mingjue turned to leave, he encountered Ye Jiaxu getting out of his car. They crossed paths, but Ye Jiaxu seemed to not see Di Mingjue and simply brushed past him.
His open mouth closed awkwardly, and Di Mingjue turned to look at Ye Jiaxu, who was entering through the revolving door.
Did he provoke him?
It didn't seem like it.
Clearing the confusion from his mind, Di Mingjue thought, the attitude of the Ye family was not important, as long as it did not endanger Ye Ziyu.
