Chapter 415 The Deadly Chain of Calls

"You're right, you've thought of everything," Di Jianhan agreed, entrusting the matter to Lu Sisi for planning.

The next day.

After a night of deliberation and planning, Lu Sisi's strategy was put on hold by a press conference called by Di Mingjue.

She was glued to the television, watching the man on screen, full of spirit.

In the few days since she had last seen him, Di Mingjue's spirits were even better than when he was at the Di residence, and his previously cold expression had softened into one of warmth.

As he sat on the stage, his eyes occasionally glanced towards the audience in the lower left. A reporter captured this and immediately turned the camera to the spot where his gaze was directed.

On the screen, Jiang Ziyu appeared.

"He's really determined to fight me to the end!" Di Jianhan walked over from behind. The sight of Jiang Ziyu's face made him want to lose his temper.

Di Mingjue's voice poured from the television, continuing until the end of the press conference. Di Mingjue deliberately went down from the stage and pulled Jiang Ziyu into the public eye. Consumed by jealousy, Lu Sisi broke a fingernail in front of the television.

She gnawed on her lip, watching Di Mingjue affectionately introduce Jiang Ziyu to the reporters.

The press conference was broadcast live, and within a minute, the affectionate scene of Di Mingjue and Jiang Ziyu was trending on social media thanks to eager netizens.

"Uncle, it seems Brother Mingjue really can't be without Sister Ziyu anymore," Lu Sisi couldn't help but sigh.

If they continued to dawdle and only went through the motions, there would be no hope left.

"No, I have to call that brat right now." Di Jianhan's temper could not wait another moment.

Lu Sisi no longer tried to stop him. If they waited any longer, their fourth child would be born.

When the call was made, Di Jianhan discovered that Di Mingjue had already blocked him, as if he had anticipated the call.

This infuriated Di Jianhan, making him dizzy and weak. He held onto Lu Sisi, leaning back into the sofa.

"Uncle, please don't worry, take care of yourself," Lu Sisi said nervously, trying to calm him.

If even he were gone, she would be forced back to that desolate mountain village, where she would be humiliated and verbally abused by her aunt every day.

She couldn't let that happen. Having tasted the sweetness of a good life, she would never go back.

Releasing Di Jianhan's hand, Lu Sisi picked up the phone Di Jianhan had dropped and, using the phone number as a reference, dialed Di Mingjue using the landline.

Although the home landline had not been blocked, she still couldn't reach Di Mingjue. He was truly determined to separate himself from the Di family and disregard all matters concerning them.

At the press conference, Jiang Ziyu saw Di Mingjue holding his phone and not answering. "Is that a call from home?"

"Mhm, he must know I blocked him and is calling from the landline to scold me," Di Mingjue said, turning off his phone, silencing the incessant ringing.

Seeing his actions, Jiang Ziyu couldn't help but ask, "Is it not good to not answer? Could something really be happening at home?"

He had been away for nearly a week. Leaving aside Di Jianhan, she didn't know if the elderly matriarch was angry about his sudden departure.

"Mingjue, why don't you answer it? What if it's the elderly matriarch?" Jiang Ziyu persuaded.

Di Mingjue rubbed her hair and smiled, refusing, "No, I know Grandma's personality best. If she really missed me, she would come to see me in person, rather than calling repeatedly."

He had inherited some of the matriarch's decisive nature. When faced with an issue, she would act immediately and decisively.

Hearing him say this, Jiang Ziyu didn't press further. She pulled him along and suggested, "Sometime later, after you've sorted out your company matters, let's find time to visit Grandma. She must miss the children."

Qianqian, in particular, had been largely raised by her.
