Chapter 400 Leaving Home

"Miss Qianqian, it's so late, why are you still sitting here and not resting?" the maid stood by Qianqian's side, watching her sit quietly on the sofa, her eyes fixed on the window.

It was already midnight, and everyone else in the house had gone to bed.

The maid was also up for a drink of water and unintentionally discovered that the floor lamp in the living room sofa was still on.

Qianqian held up the notebook in her hand and showed the contents to the maid.

[Why aren't Mommy and Daddy coming back?]

She hadn't seen them for several days. Especially Mommy, Qianqian missed her so much. In the meantime, she had secretly called her, wanting to hear her voice, but no one answered the phone.

Did Mommy not want her anymore?

Qianqian was so scared that she dared not sleep.

"Miss Qianqian, I'll take you back to rest. When Madam and Young Master finish their business, they will naturally come back to see you." The maid coaxed her, reaching out to pull her up from the sofa.

Qianqian dodged the touch and wrote down her confusion.

[Really?]

"Of course. Miss Qianqian, if you don't sleep and don't eat properly, Madam will be sad when she finds out."

Seeing the maid's sincere expression, Qianqian believed her. She stood up from the sofa herself.

"That's right." The maid breathed a sigh of relief and took her back to the room. After watching her lie down in bed to rest, she turned and left the room.

The next morning.

The maid from last night was in the kitchen, recounting last night's events to her companion.

"Alas, Miss Qianqian is so pitiful. After finally having a mother who doted on her, she didn't get to enjoy a few days of happiness before being abandoned. You wouldn't believe how bad I felt deceiving her last night when I saw her sitting alone on the sofa."

"But there was nothing else we could do. Madam has left, and Young Master has been looking for days without finding her. It's obvious she doesn't want to be Madam Di or have her."

"Forget it, let's not talk about it. Don't let her hear us."

The two women stopped talking and got busy preparing breakfast.

Qianqian, at the bottom of the stairs, was reluctant to believe it.

Mommy didn't want her anymore? Impossible, Mommy said she wouldn't abandon her.

Turning back into her room, Qianqian rummaged through the closet for her backpack and phone watch. While the maids in the Di residence were busy, she tiptoed out of the Di residence.

Breakfast was placed on the dining table. The Old Madam and Di Jianhan were seated at the table.

Looking at Lu Sisi coming downstairs, Di Jianhan said, "Sisi, go upstairs and see if Qianqian is still sleeping."

"Okay." Seeing that she wasn't at the dining table, Lu Sisi thought she had an opportunity.

She turned and went upstairs again, easily reaching Qianqian's room. When she opened the door, she called softly, "Qianqian, it's time to eat breakfast."

Her hand touched the quilt and pulled it back. Inside lay a stuffed doll.

"Where is she?" Lu Sisi turned and looked at the empty room, instantly realizing that something had happened.

She rushed out, stood on the upper floor, and shouted downstairs, "Something's wrong!"

"What is it?"

"Qianqian is not in her room."

Upon hearing this, the Old Madam immediately asked the butler beside her to search the courtyard.

The entire Di residence, inside and out, was searched. Qianqian had vanished into thin air, disappearing from the Di residence as if she had evaporated.

Di Jianhan had people check the house's surveillance footage and discovered that Qianqian had sneaked out of the house by herself that morning.

"Is she going to find Jiang Ziyu?" Di Jianhan asked.

Even Di Mingjue couldn't find her, let alone a child like her.

The Old Madam quickly informed Di Mingjue about Qianqian's situation.

Upon hearing that Qianqian had run away from home, Di Mingjue guessed that she might be going to Jiang Ziyu's previous residence. He hung up the phone and drove there.

Qianqian, relying on her memory, walked timidly along the roadside. Watching the cars come and go, she stood at the intersection, waiting for the red light to turn green.
