Chapter 420 Tricked Back to the Di Residence

After confirming the plan was feasible, Di Jianhan drove on towards Di Mingjue's current residence.

After a journey of more than ten minutes, he looked at the villa in front of him through the car window.

"This is it?" Lu Sisi surveyed the villa before them.

It had to be said that even after leaving the Di family, Di Mingjue was still doing exceptionally well. It was no wonder he refused to return.

Getting out of the car, Lu Sisi took the initiative to ring the doorbell.

Di Mingjue was cleaning the house with Jiang Ziyu. Hearing the doorbell, he mistook it for a delivery of an online order.

He directly opened the outer door from the inside and said into the intercom, "Come straight in."

A voice came from the speaker at the entrance. Di Jianhan, standing in front of it, almost had a heart attack.

He glanced at the speaker, kicked it, and then pushed open the iron gate that was blocking the way.

Arriving in the living room, Di Jianhan could only hear sounds of laughter and playful shouts but saw no one in the house.

Searching around, Lu Sisi spotted shadows on the wall upstairs, illuminated by the sunlight.

Two shadows separated and merged together. Just by looking at the black silhouettes, one could tell how much their owners loved each other.

"Mingjue!" Di Jianhan, unable to see anyone, began to shout.

"Why are you here?" A few seconds later, Di Mingjue appeared on the balcony on the second floor, looking down at Di Jianhan, who shouldn't have been there.

He had already told the old lady everything he wanted to say and convey. Didn't he understand that already?

With the cleaning rag in his hand hanging on the stair railing, he rubbed Jiang Ziyu's shoulders and walked down from the second floor to the first, alone.

"I'm not going back. You don't need to say anything else. Go back," Di Mingjue said, trying to persuade him kindly.

Di Jianhan perfectly controlled his emotions and poured out his concern to Di Mingjue: "I know your thoughts and I respect your decision. But this time, it's really out of your hands. Your grandmother said she wasn't feeling well after she returned. I thought, with the old lady being so old, anything could happen at any time, and you wouldn't be by her side. If something were to happen and you couldn't rush back in time, wouldn't you feel guilty?"

"Did you say Grandmother wasn't feeling well?" Di Mingjue only heard the first part of his statement.

He was fine when he arrived, looking quite robust. How could he be sick when he went back?

As Di Jianhan's gaze fell on him, Di Jianhan coughed dryly and murmured with worry, "Yes, she said she felt dizzy after returning. She went upstairs to rest after saying a couple of sentences. I don't know if it's because we argued, causing her too much worry, which made her body unable to cope."

This was not impossible.

Di Mingjue hesitated for a moment. He took out his phone and dialed the landline at the Di residence. He wanted to confirm it himself before making a decision.

Breaking out in a cold sweat, Di Jianhan wanted to stop him but feared that an overly aggressive action would make Di Mingjue suspect him completely.

Fortunately, no one answered the phone.

"Would I lie to you?" Di Jianhan said.

Jiang Ziyu upstairs had also heard most of the conversation. She came downstairs and said to Di Mingjue, "Go back and take a look."

With such matters, it was better to be safe than sorry.

A moment later, Di Mingjue personally drove his wife and child back to the Di residence.

As soon as they entered, the old lady was sitting on the sofa, completely unharmed. Instead, she was surprised to see Di Mingjue return.

"Have you thought it through?" the old lady asked.

Di Mingjue, no matter how foolish, understood the situation now. He turned and gritted his teeth, questioning Di Jianhan, "You lied to me!"

The old man was confused, his gaze shifting back and forth between father and son.

"If you hadn't said the old lady was unwell, would you have followed me back? I know I didn't do well before, and I apologize to you. But you, you heartlessly abandoned Di Jue Group and left without a second thought, showing no regard for me and your grandmother," Di Jianhan complained resentfully.

They all said that children were for old age security, but this son of his was of no use at all.
