The mountain of phone calls and documents that landed on Di Jianhan’s desk early in the morning left him breathless. He had no energy to spare for Di Mingjue.
Receiving no response, Lu Sisi turned to look at Di Jianhan, his eyes glued to the screen.
"Uncle," Lu Sisi moved in front of him. She leaned close to his shoulder and quickly glanced at his phone screen.
It was filled with requests for him to come to the company, each person stating they needed his signature for processing.
Di Jianhan looked at the files that continuously popped up and reached out to press the power button.
The screen went black, and the world fell silent.
He looked up at Lu Sisi, who was standing close by, "What is it?"
"Uncle, why don't I go try to persuade Mingjue Ge? He must have left in a huff. It's impossible that he would abandon the company he personally managed for years." Lu Sisi furrowed her brow, trying to guess Di Mingjue’s motives.
Mentioning Di Mingjue’s name ignited Di Jianhan’s anger.
"Why look for him? That unfilial wretch, I want to see how long that woman can accompany him through hardship after leaving the Di residence."
"But if Mingjue Ge isn't here, all the pressure falls on you, Uncle."
A company cannot be without a leader. Di Jianhan hadn't managed the company for several years and had long forgotten how to handle the various projects within the company, nor how to deal with unexpected situations.
Di Jianhan sighed with resignation and got up from the sofa. Avoiding it wasn't an option; he had to personally reassure the company employees.
Wanting to secure a place in the Di family, Lu Sisi eagerly followed, offering her assistance.
News of Di Mingjue stepping down as president quickly spread, throwing the company into chaos. Everyone doubted Di Jianhan's capabilities. The online world was abuzz, with some even digging up companies under Di Mingjue's name.
Once the company's affairs were exposed online, discussions immediately erupted.
People speculated that Di Mingjue had separated from the Di family because he had his own company, aiming to completely dominate the market in the capital.
Others said it was due to discord between father and son that Di Mingjue had brought his family out.
Lu Sisi watched Di Jianhan, who was in a meeting, through the floor-to-ceiling window. She looked with envy at the content on her phone.
She never imagined that Di Mingjue would be thriving after leaving the Di family. Jiang Ziyu was still Mrs. Di. Meanwhile, she was like a maid, serving an old man every day.
No, she couldn't just wait for fate.
Lu Sisi stared at Di Jianhan in the conference room, contemplating how to inform him about this matter.
...
The Villa.
"Dinner's ready," Jiang Ziyu emerged from the kitchen holding a spatula.
In the living room, Di Mingjue was playing with the three children. Hearing the call, Di Mingjue pulled the three children into his arms with his long arms, lifting them all up.
"Time to wash up and eat," Di Mingjue said. As he passed Jiang Ziyu, he tilted his body and kissed her cheek, "You've worked hard, my wife!"
"Why weren't you this smooth-tongued before?" Jiang Ziyu pushed him away with a hint of disdain.
The three children below covered their mouths and giggled.
Di Mingjue moved closer to Jiang Ziyu again and whispered in her ear, "It's because I know you are the only wife I will ever have."
"Alright, you hurry and take the children to wash up," Jiang Ziyu issued a command.
"Yes, ma'am!" Di Mingjue suddenly raised his voice, startling Jiang Ziyu.
Seeing him leading the children to the bathroom, Jiang Ziyu shook her head helplessly and went into the kitchen.
After returning to the country with the children, Di Mingjue had asked if she wanted to hire a helper, but Jiang Ziyu had refused. She preferred a quiet life, cleaning and cooking for them herself when she had time. She felt more uncomfortable with a helper around.
Di Mingjue was persuaded by her and simply let her have her way.
Gathered around the dining table, Jiang Ziyu looked at Di Mingjue, "Is there something on my face?"
