Chapter 356 Sense of Distance

"Take it."

"When I saw Sister Ziyu hug the child, I remembered Grandma saying you have a daughter."

Hearing her mention Qianqian, Di Mingjue's face instantly became frosty. "I don't want to repeat what I said at the hospital a second time!"

The events of that day immediately flashed back in his mind.

"Brother Mingjue, what did I do to make you hate me so much?" Lu Sisi looked at him wronged.

Their relationship hadn't reached the point of hate.

Di Mingjue ignored her question and said coldly, "If there's nothing else, I'm going in."

The wheelchair spun around in front of him. As he saw the person re-enter the room, Lu Sisi rushed forward with the fruit plate, blocking the door with her body.

Di Mingjue frowned, staring at her actions.

"I can change, and I won't marry you like Uncle said." Lu Sisi stubbornly wanted to prove herself.

Whether she married him or not, Di Mingjue didn't care at all. No matter what her choice was, he wasn't an option.

"Move."

"Brother Mingjue."

Di Mingjue moved forward directly, his wheels running over her heels. Under the pressure, Lu Sisi moved aside. She watched him go in front of her, only to be awkwardly blocked outside the door.

If she could handle Di Jianhan, she didn't believe she couldn't handle him!

Looking down at the fruit plate in her hand, Lu Sisi resentfully picked up a piece of apple with a fork and stuffed it into her mouth.

"He's gone?" Jiang Ziyu looked up at Di Mingjue as he entered.

Di Mingjue nodded and walked closer, looking at Qianqian who had already fallen asleep. In her sleep, her face still bore traces of the fear that had not completely subsided. "I've already sent Shen Lin to look for Jiang Feifei's whereabouts."

"She won't show herself in a short time for us to find her."

"There are plenty of ways to force her out if she doesn't come out voluntarily."

Jiang Ziyu looked at Di Mingjue's confident demeanor, but she didn't have 100% faith in him.

The reason she dared to approach Qianqian so openly this time was because she was well-prepared. She either wanted to drag them down with her, or she had a master helping her from behind the scenes. She just wasn't sure which it was.

Di Mingjue's gaze shifted from Qianqian to Jiang Ziyu. "Rest for a while. You must have been quite frightened so soon after being discharged from the hospital."

To call it fright was an understatement. The moment she learned that Jiang Feifei had approached Qianqian, her mind had already come up with a hundred ways to retaliate.

Fortunately, Peter and Shen Lin had strong defenses, otherwise Qianqian wouldn't be sleeping here safely right now.

A heavy weight landed on her head. Jiang Ziyu looked up at Di Mingjue as he affectionately rubbed her hair. "I promise this won't happen a second time."

"Actually, you don't need to blame yourself."

Moving her neck downwards, Jiang Ziyu subtly pulled away from his arm. The obvious distance made her uncomfortable, and she avoided his gaze.

"You should rest," Di Mingjue said, a hint of hurt in his voice.

He had laid his heart out to her time and time again, yet she had never accepted him.

It felt as if something was stuck in her throat, unable to go up or down. Seeing his state, Jiang Ziyu simply lay back down.

In a flash, the sky outside had darkened. Di Residence exuded the warmth of daily life. Servants gathered in the kitchen, busy preparing dinner, while Lu Sisi accompanied Di Jianhan and the old lady, watching television in the living room.

The television was broadcasting the financial news of the capital, with the female announcer detailing the bankruptcy of the Jiang Corporation. The camera panned to the Jiang Corporation building, where employees, with downcast faces, were carrying their luggage and walking out.

When reporters approached, they became even more distressed. The company's bankruptcy was too rapid; not only had their salaries not been settled, but they didn't even know where their next job would be.

The perspective then shifted from the exterior view to the interior of the broadcast studio, where they listened to the female announcer narrating that Jiang Wenbin could no longer be reached.
