"Lu Sisi?"
She parsed the name in her mind but found no familiar connection.
"Do we know each other?" Jiang Ziyu asked, confused.
Lu Sisi sat down on the chair uninvited, exuding a sense of familiarity, "We do now."
"..." Jiang Ziyu was bewildered.
Were young girls' minds so active these days?
Jiang Ziyu replied awkwardly, "I'm sorry, could you explain more clearly? Is there something you need from me?"
The only person a woman appearing here could be connected to was Di Mingjue.
Was she here to issue a challenge?
As the thought arose, Lu Sisi opposite her asked, "Can I call you Sister Ziyu?"
"You can, but little sister, could you first explain who you are?" Jiang Ziyu was tired of her self-directed conversation.
Lu Sisi, seeing the impatience on her face, stopped beating around the bush and explained, "You can consider me Uncle Di's adopted daughter, or you can see me as the life he saved. I'm currently living at the Di residence. A few days ago, Uncle Di argued with Brother Mingjue because of me. He hasn't been back for days, and Uncle Di is very unhappy. So, I learned the hospital address from my grandmother."
An argument?
Was the injury on his forehead related to that?
Jiang Ziyu's curiosity was confirmed by Lu Sisi's words, "Uncle Di was so angry that he hit Brother Mingjue with a cup. His forehead was injured, I am truly sorry."
Her mind was a mess. She couldn't comprehend how a mere life-saver could cause a father and son to fall out. Was it that Di Jianhan wanted to marry her, and Di Mingjue was unwilling to have a stepmother younger than himself?
Her imagination ran wild, and the thought that emerged startled Jiang Ziyu. She shook her head, quickly dismissing the absurd speculation.
"Can I ask why they argued?"
Lu Sisi looked at her with difficulty, "Sister Ziyu, please don't be angry when you hear this."
Why would she be angry?
Jiang Ziyu waved her hand, magnanimously saying, "Of course not, go ahead and tell me."
"Uncle Di wants me to be Brother Mingjue's wife. He asked Brother Mingjue to divorce you and marry me." After speaking, Lu Sisi, looking fearful of Jiang Ziyu's anger, stood up from the chair in a panic. "I won't. Uncle Di just wants to thank me, but I know that you and Brother Mingjue have a good relationship."
Jiang Ziyu was stunned for a moment, her gaze sweeping over Lu Sisi's anxious face. She smiled and indicated, "Don't be nervous, I'm not angry. If Di Mingjue really wants to marry you, I won't mind."
"Ah?" Lu Sisi's mouth fell open, unable to comprehend her words.
Did their relationship not go well? Or was she intentionally testing her?
Lu Sisi looked back at her, knowing full well that Jiang Ziyu was not to be trifled with. To make her let down her guard? A pipe dream!
"I don't have many ambitions. As long as I have peace and happiness in life, that's enough. I can't do things like snatching someone else's husband," Lu Sisi stated her stance to Jiang Ziyu.
Raising an eyebrow in response to her carefully crafted persona, Jiang Ziyu smiled and teased, "No need to snatch. If you really want it, I'll willingly step aside."
"Step aside for what?" Di Mingjue pushed the door open and entered.
There were people he had arranged to protect Jiang Ziyu in the hospital. Upon learning that someone had entered her room, Di Mingjue immediately withdrew from his meeting and left the company.
What he never expected was to hear her so casually giving him away like an object after rushing here in a hurry.
Jiang Ziyu pursed her lips, looking apologetically at Di Mingjue's slightly angry expression.
"Brother Mingjue, I came to visit Sister Ziyu." Lu Sisi cheerfully stood up from the chair and obediently came to his side. "After you left that day, Uncle has been unable to eat or sleep peacefully."
