After a brief chat, the call ended. Di Ruihe no longer stayed in the office, picking up the car keys from the desk and walking out.
The elevator arrived at the first floor, where Jiang Ziyu and Di Mingjue were waiting outside.
None of the three had expected such a coincidence, meeting at the elevator entrance.
"Going out?" Di Mingjue saw the car keys in his hand.
Some matters had already been laid bare, and there was no point in continuing to pretend.
Di Ruihe nodded, arrogantly coming out from inside and brushing past them.
He just left like that?
Jiang Ziyu turned her head to watch the man who had already left through the revolving door. She looked down at Di Mingjue, who remained expressionless, and felt a surge of curiosity.
Wasn't he afraid?
It was clear that Di Ruihe and Di Mingjue were not the same kind of people. The former was calculating and more prone to disguise. The latter was reckless and brainless. Compared to the two, the former was the one who caused more headaches.
Di Mingjue pressed the elevator button and went in first.
Back in the office, Shen Lin brought the prepared food.
"Eat," Di Mingjue said to Jiang Ziyu, looking at the opened lunch boxes.
After the commotion in the cafeteria, Jiang Ziyu was already full. Looking at the food, her mouth felt tasteless.
"I'm not hungry."
"Not hungry?"
Di Mingjue's tone turned cold, "Because of them?"
Jiang Ziyu naturally understood who he was referring to, and she shook her head, "No."
"If resigning doesn't appease you, what do you want them to do?" Di Mingjue didn't believe her denial.
Her good mood had turned bad because of this one incident; nothing else could have made her unhappy.
Her thoughts having been guessed, Jiang Ziyu felt too embarrassed to even refute.
Strange, had he become her mind-reader?
Jiang Ziyu shivered in horror, quickly shaking the thought from her mind.
"You eat first," Di Mingjue moved his wheelchair and walked out.
She had intended to ask, but Jiang Ziyu stood up from the sofa, only to sit back down after he left.
She hadn't left his sight all morning, so now she could check on Yuze's situation.
She dialed the phone, contacting the housekeeper who was taking care of Yuze and Xiao Ran.
Meanwhile, Di Mingjue went to Shen Lin's office.
After finishing the arrangements for the evening's invitation and dealing with the ill-intentioned female employees, Shen Lin had only just managed to steal a moment of leisure to eat lunch.
He took a large bite of a sandwich, and before he could chew, Di Mingjue entered. Rushing to greet him, he choked on breadcrumbs and coughed incessantly.
"Have some water," Di Mingjue reminded him.
The food was washed down his stomach with water, and Shen Lin quickly approached Di Mingjue, "President Di, why have you come in person?"
As far as he remembered, the internal office line hadn't rung, nor had his mobile phone.
"Before they leave the company, have them record an apology to Jiang Ziyu and send it to the work group."
"Is that all?"
"Yes, including the large screen downstairs. The video will be played on an infinite loop for a day."
After listening, Shen Lin felt as if he were dreaming. The company's external large screen always displayed photos of company endorsers and advertisements for new products. If these were noticed by reporters, the videos would be spread online.
Given the speed of the internet, it would become difficult for those two women to find good jobs in Didu in the future. They might even be unable to live normal lives.
This seemed a bit too ruthless!
Shen Lin thought, kindly interceding for them, "President Di, isn't the punishment a bit too severe?"
"Severe?" Di Mingjue looked up, his eyes filled with doubt.
In an instant, he realized he had said the wrong thing.
"I'm sorry," Shen Lin said, lowering his head. "I'll carry it out now."
Di Mingjue looked at the remaining sandwich on the table, "Finish eating before you go."
