Chapter 163 Leaving Home

Tears streaming down her face, Jiang Ziyu turned, wiping her eyes as she clutched Qianqian tighter in her arms.

Qianqian, too, had a dejected look, clinging tightly to Jiang Ziyu’s neck, afraid of being left behind.

Seeing that she remained silent, the old lady ordered the butler to bring her suitcase and then led her to the sofa to sit down.

Zhao Yanxia, unable to understand what she was playing at, followed closely, watching.

“Ziyu, did Mingjue bully you? Tell Grandma, and Grandma will teach him a lesson for you.” The old lady took a tissue and carefully wiped the tears from her face.

Sniffing, Jiang Ziyu took the tissue from the old lady. Covering her eyes, her soft sobs turned into loud wails.

Seeing this, Qianqian also started crying.

The old lady was thoroughly troubled by the pair.

Zhao Yanxia, watching from the side, secretly chuckled and couldn't resist teasing, “Cousin-in-law, just tell us what’s troubling you. You’re crying so much, you’re making the child cry too. If the old lady gets too anxious and something happens, you won’t be able to bear the consequences.”

As her words fell, the old lady glared at her.

Zhao Yanxia shrank her neck, looking displeased.

“Where is Mingjue?” the old lady asked the butler beside her.

To make the act more believable, Di Mingjue skipped breakfast, deliberately made some noises in his room, and then left.

Upon learning from the butler that he had already gone to the company, the old lady looked at the tearful Jiang Ziyu with concern.

“Since it’s that Mingjue fellow who wronged you, I’ll have a good talk with him when he gets back. Don’t take it to heart. Grandma knows you’re a good child and that you’ve been wronged. I apologize on Mingjue’s behalf,” the old lady, seeing that simple comfort was not working, quickly shifted the blame to Di Mingjue.

Seeing her stop crying, Zhao Yanxia rolled her eyes in annoyance from the side.

What a good actress!

No wonder both the old and the young were so easily swayed by her.

Zhao Yanxia enviously clutched the sofa.

Jiang Ziyu wiped her tears and shook her head, explaining, “It’s not your fault. Perhaps he and I are not suited for each other. Since the initial intention was for me to bring him good luck, and he has now woken up, I am no longer needed.”

“Silly child, what do you mean by bringing good luck, or being useless? You are my Di family’s lawfully wedded wife, the mistress of our Di mansion. In the future, the entire Di family will need you to manage it. How can you say you are useless?” The old lady chided, patting her arm.

She would be in charge?

Zhao Yanxia exclaimed excitedly, “Grandma, isn’t that a bit too soon? Cousin-in-law just had a fight with Cousin. Why do you have to say something so far ahead? Besides, it’s normal for a couple to argue. Don’t we all make up in bed? Why is it that with Cousin-in-law, it’s all tears and preparing to run away from home?”

Speaking sarcastically, Zhao Yanxia glared at Jiang Ziyu resentfully.

Having been married for less than half a year, she had already gained the old lady’s favor and was being ordered to manage the Di mansion.

Don’t even think about it! As long as Zhao Yanxia was around, she would never let her manage the Di mansion.

The old lady also realized that she had spoken too soon. While she was satisfied with Jiang Ziyu, she was not yet certain if she could truly capture Di Mingjue’s heart and remain his wife.

If she hadn’t brought Qianqian with her, intending to leave together, the old lady would not have intervened to persuade her.

She pretended to glare at Zhao Yanxia, then said to Jiang Ziyu, “My old bones can’t handle the fuss of you young people anymore. I know you’ve been wronged, but you can’t do anything foolish.”

Seeing the situation spiraling out of control, Jiang Ziyu found herself in a dilemma.

She was determined to take Qianqian with her today. Let her be angry!

With that thought, Jiang Ziyu roughly pushed away the old lady’s touch. Picking up Qianqian again, she forcefully took the suitcase from the butler’s hands. “I’m sorry, I cannot stay here any longer.”

Seeing her obstinacy, the old lady felt a flicker of dissatisfaction. “You cannot take Qianqian away!”
