Chapter 199 The Brawl Within the Courtyard

Spitting out the foul water from her mouth, Jiang Feifei brushed aside the wet hair clinging to her cheeks and looked down at the dead vegetable leaves stuck to her clothes. The kitchen's wastewater was sticky and emitted a foul odor.

Jiang Feifei felt a wave of nausea. Suppressing the urge to vomit, she tugged at her clothes, wanting to scream.

"This time it's just dirty water, next time it won't be so simple," Zhao Yanxia flailed her arms wildly in front of Jiang Feifei.

The foul water dripping from her hair fell into her mouth again. Jiang Feifei could no longer tolerate it. Frowning, she provocatively flicked the water from her face onto Zhao Yanxia's, "Who knows what will happen next time. After all, whether you can continue to be Di Dongsheng's wife is not set in stone."

Jiang Feifei swayed her slender waist, deliberately adopting a seductive posture.

Zhao Yanxia was so enraged she was panting, glancing around. She grabbed a stick from the ground.

Her movement clearly indicated an intent to strike. Jiang Feifei was no pushover. Her previous beating was purely accidental. Today, she was prepared and would not allow Zhao Yanxia to have her way again.

Catching the stick in her hand, Jiang Feifei approached Zhao Yanxia step by step, pressing the stick from Zhao Yanxia's grip onto her shoulder.

A sudden soreness in her wrist caused the stick to clatter to the ground.

Zhao Yanxia felt humiliated. She struggled reluctantly against Jiang Feifei's arm.

"Looking at you now, do you think Di Dongsheng will choose you or me?" Jiang Feifei clasped Zhao Yanxia's struggling hands together from behind.

Her arm felt as if it was dislocated, and she shouted upwards with discontent, "Bitch!"

As the words fell, she spat a glob of phlegm onto Jiang Feifei's face. The saliva was sticky, and Jiang Feifei, disgusted, released her grip.

Freed from restraint, Zhao Yanxia grabbed Jiang Feifei's hair and shoved her towards the ground. The scalp was pulled so hard it felt numb, and Jiang Feifei cried out in pain.

The commotion in the courtyard quickly alerted those inside. The old woman, supported by her butler, emerged.

Seeing the two women tearing at each other, she could hardly believe her eyes.

Jiang Feifei had Zhao Yanxia's arm pinned, while simultaneously pulling her hair. Zhao Yanxia, in turn, was pulling Jiang Feifei's hair, trying to get her pinned underneath.

"Both of you, stop!" the old woman roared at them.

As if they couldn't hear, they intensified their struggle.

Seeing the old woman gasping with anger, Jiang Ziyu stepped forward to pull them apart.

Di Mingjue, afraid she would get hurt, reached out to stop her, but didn't even touch the hem of Jiang Ziyu's clothes.

She moved like a gust of wind, ferociously approaching the two women and placing her hand on Jiang Feifei's arm.

Though the force was not great, it caused Jiang Feifei to cry out in pain. She was forced to release Zhao Yanxia and turned to look at Jiang Ziyu who had appeared beside her.

Catching a glimpse behind her, she saw the grim-faced old woman. Realizing the situation, she instantly retracted her hand and feigned victimhood.

"Weren't you quite capable just now? Weren't you yelling at me?" Zhao Yanxia slapped Jiang Feifei's cheeks twice.

She seemed to see no one else, her eyes solely focused on Jiang Feifei.

The slaps landed on her face, and five finger marks instantly appeared on her fair cheeks.

Jiang Feifei sobbed, her previous arrogance completely gone, replaced by the fragility and helplessness of a woman.

"Stop!" the old woman scolded from the front, leaning on her cane as she approached, glaring at Zhao Yanxia unhappily. "Fighting and brawling, how utterly unseemly!"

She had just lectured her in the morning, and only a few hours later, Zhao Yanxia was like this again.

Seeing the old woman, Jiang Feifei, with tears in her voice, sought her help. "I just wanted to explain my relationship with Dongsheng."

The old woman's attitude towards Jiang Feifei was the same as her attitude towards Zhao Yanxia. With a cold face, she said, "Miss Jiang, although I don't know the specifics of your situation with Dongsheng that led to the photos being posted online, as an elder, I would like to remind you of something. Don't be too clever, and don't treat people like fools."
