Chapter 188 Challenging Battle

“You may go down,” Di Mingjue said to Shen Lin.

After organizing the documents in his hand and placing them on the desk, Shen Lin left the office.

Di Mingjue gestured to the sofa on the left. “Shall we talk?”

The situation online was not in his favor. Di Dongsheng, forced to comply, walked over and sat on the sofa.

Di Mingjue placed a cup of coffee in front of him and sat opposite Di Dongsheng.

“The reporters downstairs are all waiting for you. What are your plans? Hold a press conference, or issue a statement online?” Di Mingjue asked calmly.

With the accounting issues from before, coupled with the scandalous news online, the shareholders had lost all trust in him. Especially his third uncle, who, after being unable to reach Di Dongsheng by phone that morning, had called Di Mingjue.

“Did you do this?” Di Dongsheng demanded.

Understanding his implication, Di Mingjue sneered. “Do you think I would bother?”

He disdained, and would never, resort to such underhanded tactics as stalking him and posting photos online.

Di Dongsheng clearly didn't believe him.

Given the current circumstances, Di Mingjue was the one most eager to oust him from Di Jue Group. How could he not harbor ill intentions?

Unable to contain his temper, he sprang up from the sofa. Towering over Di Mingjue, who appeared nonchalant, he glared with lethal intent. “Whether you did this or not, I will fight you for the position of head of the Di family.”

“As you wish,” Di Mingjue replied, also standing up.

Their gazes met, and the air crackled with a sharp tension.

Leaving the president’s office, Di Dongsheng strode back to his own office like a gust of wind.

As soon as the door closed, a brief cacophony of breaking objects could be heard from within.

Employees passing by the door paused to peek.

Di Dongsheng stood furiously before the floor-to-ceiling window, looking down at the reporters below, who resembled ants.

He took out his phone from his pocket and turned it on. Unanswered calls and messages flooded in, his phone ringing incessantly.

After a few minutes, the phone fell silent. Di Dongsheng clicked on an entertainment app.

The entry was still at the top, the photos reposted billions of times.

He opened the comments section, which was filled with insults directed at Jiang Feifei. Her past was also a topic of discussion among netizens.

Knock, knock!

Di Dongsheng glanced behind him.

“Come in!”

Shen Lin stood and pushed the door open, entering.

Di Dongsheng looked surprised. “What? Do you need something from me?”

Shen Lin held a file and, stepping over the mess, placed it on the desk.

“What does this mean?” Di Dongsheng asked, looking at the file.

“President Di wants you to look at it,” Shen Lin explained.

Di Dongsheng walked from the floor-to-ceiling window to the desk and bent down to pick up the file.

Flipping from the front to the back, Di Dongsheng slammed the file onto the desk. “You want to banish me abroad so I can never return? Dream on!”

Finding the file an eyesore, he reached out and crumpled it further before tossing it into the trash can.

Shen Lin watched all this without saying a word.

With his hands braced on the desk, Di Dongsheng looked like a beast about to pounce, ready to tear him apart. “Go back and tell Di Mingjue that from now on, I will make him return everything he has taken from me, exactly as it was.”

Seeing his delusion, Shen Lin quickly left. He returned to Di Mingjue’s side and relayed Di Dongsheng’s words to him.

Take it back?

Di Mingjue gave a cold laugh. None of it rightfully belonged to him, so what was there to fight for?

“Keep a close eye on him, especially the company’s internal finances,” Di Mingjue said to Shen Lin, turning his head.

While the news raged online, only Di Dongsheng was affected.

Upon seeing the news, Jiang Wenbin was not angry at home. Instead, he clapped his hands and praised Jiang Feifei for doing a good job this time.

Leaving the hotel, Jiang Feifei deliberately covered herself up, allowing reporters to capture photos of her exiting the hotel.
