Rainze’s arms were by his sides, along the seam of his pants. He casually leaned his back against the cold wall.
Jiang Ziyu looked at him with a solemn expression. "Do you know why you are being punished?"
Rainze nodded. "I'm sorry."
Seeing his sincere acknowledgment of his mistake, Jiang Ziyu’s heart softened instantly. She bent down and squatted in front of him, stroking his hair. "You are still young. There are many things you cannot understand. Mommy is doing this for your own good."
If anyone had overheard just now, it wouldn't have led to mere minor trouble.
Rainze drooped his head and apologized to Jiang Ziyu again.
"Go read your book. Without Mommy's permission, you are not allowed to leave your room to sneak out and listen anymore," Jiang Ziyu instructed sternly.
After settling Rainze, Jiang Ziyu came out of his room.
Opening the door, Wu Xuerou was awkwardly spinning in place.
"Sister-in-law, you're home. I thought you had gone out," Wu Xuerou said awkwardly to Jiang Ziyu.
Jiang Ziyu looked down at her feet.
If she wasn’t mistaken, she had just been eavesdropping by the door.
Feeling guilty under Jiang Ziyu’s gaze, Wu Xuerou started to doubt her own ears.
"Sister-in-law, do you have something to ask me?" Jiang Ziyu inquired.
Wu Xuerou glanced at her and tentatively asked, "I just heard a child's voice. Was that Qianqian?"
Just as she suspected!
Jiang Ziyu’s eyes turned colder, and a chilling smile touched her lips. "Sister-in-law might be hearing things. You might have mistaken my voice for Qianqian's."
"Is that so?" Wu Xuerou was half-believing.
She clearly heard a childish voice. Could she have changed her voice? Her eyes searched, and her mind fell into doubt.
To quickly dispel her doubts, Jiang Ziyu imitated Rainze's tone. "Are you talking about a voice like this?"
Wu Xuerou’s eyes widened in disbelief.
If it weren’t for seeing it in person, she truly wouldn’t have believed that Jiang Ziyu could do voice acting.
"I was telling Qianqian a story just now. To make the story more engaging, I adjusted my voice," Jiang Ziyu reverted to her normal voice.
She watched Wu Xuerou's eyes shift from suspicion to trust.
"Is there anything else?" Jiang Ziyu asked again.
Wu Xuerou shook her head.
"Then if there's nothing else, I'll be going down."
Leaving her presence, Wu Xuerou looked at the door in front of her. Patting her head, she thought about it left and right, feeling that something was strange.
Jiang Ziyu went downstairs. The elders in the living room had already left. The old lady sat there, supporting her forehead, looking tired.
The old lady had the hardest time during this period. She stood at the forefront, enduring immense pressure, all to buy time for Di Mingjue.
"Grandma," Jiang Ziyu called out with concern.
The old lady looked up, her face etched with fatigue. "What is it?"
"Let me help you upstairs to rest," Jiang Ziyu offered her hand thoughtfully.
This battle of wits had left them exhausted. The old lady agreed, accepting Jiang Ziyu's assistance.
After helping the old lady to bed, Jiang Ziyu walked out of the room.
It was all because of Jiang’s Nebula project that the Di residence was in turmoil. If this continued, when would Di Mingjue be able to provide a kidney for Rainze?
It seemed she had to take action!
…
Jiang Residence.
Jiang Feifei was dressed flamboyantly, her scent detectable for miles.
"Going to see Di Dongsheng?" Jiang Wenbin asked.
Some companies learned that Di Jue Group would cooperate with Jiang’s. Moreover, with Di Jue Group’s recent shareholder issues, it further confirmed the rumors circulating online.
Companies that had been avoiding Jiang’s were now eager to step on Jiang’s to ascend to Di Jue Group.
Jiang Wenbin's entire demeanor had improved. Now, he placed all his hopes on Jiang Feifei.
"Yes," Jiang Feifei repeatedly tidied her appearance.
Hearing her response, Jiang Wenbin was very satisfied. "Di Dongsheng is the most capable person to become the head of the Di family, besides Di Mingjue. You must secure him."
