Within a single night, rumors spread across the capital that the Jiang Corporation was set to collaborate with the Di Jue Group on the Nebula Project, drawing the attention of many corporations.
The news quickly reached Jiang Ziyu. She glanced at the message from Mu Liangchen, then at Di Dongsheng leisurely eating breakfast downstairs.
It seemed he had already gotten involved with Jiang Feifei.
"What are you standing around for?" Di Mingjue appeared silently behind Jiang Ziyu.
Quickly tucking her phone into her pocket, Jiang Ziyu turned and walked behind him. "Waiting for you."
Her legs felt weak; she needed support to go up and down stairs.
Di Mingjue understood she wasn't waiting for him, but he didn't expose her lie.
Upon entering the living room, the old madam beckoned them to join them for breakfast.
Jiang Ziyu found herself facing Di Dongsheng. She clearly sensed a knowing, almost amused glint in his eyes.
Di Mingjue handed Jiang Ziyu chopsticks and, noticing her distracted state, perceived Di Dongsheng's unfriendly gaze from across the table.
"Take it," Di Mingjue pressed the chopsticks into her hand.
Feeling the smooth wooden texture, Jiang Ziyu lowered her head to compose herself. When she looked up again, she was no longer affected by anyone else's gaze.
There was no custom of talking during meals at the Di residence. The dining table was typically filled only with the faint sounds of chewing.
After breakfast, Di Dongsheng deliberately sought opportunities to speak with Jiang Ziyu.
His unusual behavior irked Zhao Yanxia.
"Dongsheng, aren't you going to the company today?"
As Di Dongsheng followed behind Jiang Ziyu, about to speak, Zhao Yanxia called out loudly.
Sensing the commotion, Jiang Ziyu turned and saw Di Dongsheng standing disconcertingly close.
Such obvious proximity—was she truly being treated like an idiot?
Zhao Yanxia rushed to Di Dongsheng's side, possessively wrapping her arm around his, "It's getting late, you'll be late soon."
As she spoke, she turned halfway, shielding Jiang Ziyu with her entire body. She then acted as a devoted wife, adjusting his tie.
Removing her hand from his chest, Di Dongsheng glanced at Jiang Ziyu. "I'm going to the company."
"I'll bring you lunch!" Zhao Yanxia called out to his retreating back.
After he left, Zhao Yanxia turned and glared at Jiang Ziyu. "Sister-in-law, you're truly remarkable. With a face full of red acne, you can still find ways to make men lose their minds over you. I don't think you need to be Mrs. Di; why not open a class and teach others?"
Jiang Ziyu felt like giving her a compliment on her stupidity.
Everyone knew who held the higher status in the Di family. Unless she were an imbecile, why would she give up on Di Mingjue to set her sights on Di Dongsheng?
She scoffed and replied, "You're thinking too much."
"I'm thinking too much?" Zhao Yanxia was provoked. She spun in place, feeling a heat rising, searching for an outlet.
Wu Xuerou, who was enjoying the spectacle and adding fuel to the fire, chimed in, "I felt it at the dining table; Dongsheng's gaze was constantly on Sister-in-law."
A spark, hot and heated, flew out.
Her head was practically burning, but Zhao Yanxia managed to maintain her composure, forcing a smile. "You're joking. Dongsheng was sitting opposite Sister-in-law; isn't it normal for him to look ahead? What I said earlier was about other matters, not about my Dongsheng. Don't go around speaking nonsense here."
Wu Xuerou hadn't expected Zhao Yanxia to turn defensive and protect Di Dongsheng. She found herself in an awkward position, having unintentionally offended both parties.
After a subtle warning to Wu Xuerou, Zhao Yanxia refocused her attention entirely on Jiang Ziyu. "Sister-in-law, please don't mind me. I'm just a straightforward person. What I said earlier wasn't aimed at you; I was just kindly reminding you as a fellow sister-in-law. Being able to enter the Di residence is a blessing from a past life. It would be a loss not worth taking if you were to act foolishly and make mistakes."
With that, Zhao Yanxia's cold demeanor softened. She smiled and walked up to Jiang Ziyu, linking her arm.
