Wu Xuerou’s mention of the jade bracelet was something Zhao Yanxia had seen before. Before it was given to Jiang Ziyu, the old lady wore it on her wrist and had never taken it off for years.
Unexpectedly, the newly married Jiang Ziyu had easily gotten ahead of the two of them.
“Why haven’t I seen her wear it?” Zhao Yanxia asked.
Wu Xuerou was also puzzled.
She had intended to frame Jiang Ziyu, hoping she would break the old lady’s jade bracelet, which would then cause the old lady to scold her.
Could it be that she was also afraid of the bracelet getting scratched or bumped, and didn't dare to wear it?
Her eyes darted around, and Wu Xuerou scurried over to Zhao Yanxia. Her body pressed against hers, her open hand placed near her ear, and she puckered her lips to whisper.
Zhao Yanxia’s expression shifted from anger to surprise, and then to satisfaction.
“You go!” she said to Wu Xuerou.
Wu Xuerou had intended to scheme against her, wanting to kill two birds with one stone and become the old lady’s favorite. Now, it was a disaster; her plan had backfired, and she had gotten herself into trouble.
She moved back, picked up a pillow, and hugged it. Stammering, she said, “You know I’m timid. I get scared just seeing her. Forget about pushing her, I’d get weak-kneed just standing next to her. I really can’t do it.”
“Can she eat you? You’re scared of her like this.” Zhao Yanxia grumbled. Glancing at the second floor, Zhao Yanxia could no longer tolerate her resentment.
Seeing her change her shoes and head out without a word, Wu Xuerou curiously pressed, “Where are you going?”
The only reply was the sound of the door closing.
Jiang Ziyu, who had returned to her room, also changed her clothes and left the Imperial residence a few minutes after Zhao Yanxia.
In the vast villa, only Wu Xuerou remained idly at home.
“The bracelet.” Wu Xuerou mumbled softly, her eyes shining with a glint as she cast a malicious glance upstairs.
...
Shareholder Meeting.
Major and minor shareholders, along with heads of various company departments, gathered in the largest conference room of the Di Jue Group.
Di Mingjue had not yet arrived. The three friends sat together, chatting animatedly.
The conference room door was pushed open from the outside. Everyone looked up to see Di Dongsheng enter. Seeing that it wasn’t Di Mingjue, they lowered their heads and resumed their conversation.
Di Dongsheng circled the room and walked to the very front of the conference room. He picked up the microphone and tapped it where the sound came out, creating a piercing noise that reverberated through the conference room.
Interrupting the chatter, everyone looked towards the front.
“Dongsheng, what are you doing?” Old Wu, one of the shareholders, questioned with displeasure.
Old Wu favored Di Mingjue more and was the only one among the old guard who leaned towards him.
Di Dongsheng unplugged the microphone and began, “My identity is clear to everyone, so I won’t introduce myself. Today, on the occasion of the shareholder meeting, I have some things to say to all of you.”
Di Dongsheng looked at his third uncle, who was seated in the middle of the crowd, and instructed his staff to distribute the photocopied documents to everyone.
One copy per person, they quickly flipped through and examined them.
Upon seeing the characters for "Jiang Corporation," everyone was reminded of the rumors circulating outside.
“Is Di Ming Group really going to cooperate with Jiang Corporation?”
“I heard Jiang Corporation owes a lot of debt and their projects have all failed. Whoever takes them over will suffer a loss.”
Everyone chimed in, and the conference room became boisterous.
Di Dongsheng tapped the microphone again, drawing everyone’s attention back to him.
“Rumors are just rumors and cannot be trusted,” Di Dongsheng stated. “Everyone, please take a good look at the documents in your hands. These are the data I obtained after on-site investigations. The Star Cloud Project is the one Jiang Corporation values most and is capable of bringing the greatest profit.”
“Di Jue Group lacks projects of this nature. If we invest in Jiang Corporation and the project is completed, Di Jue Group will only ascend to another level.”
His words caused many shareholders to change their minds. For the company to make money, shareholders would receive dividends.
They looked at each other, no one expressing a stance.
