Chapter 783 Attempting to Make Him Express His Discontent

Ignoring his refusal to speak and now acting like a turtle hiding in its shell, it was obvious he was provoking Di Mingjue.

"Mingjue, can you pull the blanket down a bit? Don't let him suffocate," Ye Ziyu urged Di Mingjue.

Deep down, they both wanted to properly educate him, yet here he was, being asked to lower himself and indulge a defiant child.

Though his heart was a hundred times unwilling, Ye Ziyu's worried look softened Di Mingjue. He decided to love her and the things she loved, tolerating it for now.

As soon as the hand inside the blanket covering the head was pulled down, it was pulled back up again. Back and forth, the blanket became wrinkled.

No one would believe it wasn't intentional.

Di Mingjue took a step forward, his knees bumping against the edge of the hospital bed. He looked down at the small lump curled up in the blanket and bent down to sit.

With a creak, Xingxing felt the mattress beside him dip, a massive object now on one side of his body.

Through the blanket, Di Mingjue patted it and said, "I heard that once the oxygen inside this blanket is used up, it all turns into carbon dioxide. Does breathing too much of it poison you? Or make you stupid?"

Stupid?

Ye Ziyu became even more anxious than Xingxing inside the blanket, "Hurry and pull the blanket down a bit!"

Among the three people in the ward, Ye Ziyu was the most anxious.

Di Mingjue's hand pressed down on the front of the blanket. He had no intention of pulling it down, but rather held it in place. Even if Xingxing inside wanted to come out, he would have to push Di Mingjue's hand away.

Xingxing was no ordinary child; he could tell when he was being fooled by a few words. He remained curled up in the blanket, completely still.

As time passed, Di Mingjue began to worry.

What if he suffocated!

He released his hand and immediately stood up, pulling the blanket down.

Xingxing's little face was flushed, and he was unharmed, but his eyes were full of defiance towards Di Mingjue.

He had been tricked by a child?

Only now did Di Mingjue realize that Xingxing entering the blanket was intentional. If anything happened to him, Ye Ziyu would worry, and Ye Shaoting would blame him. At that point, he would become the bad guy who tried to bully a child.

If nothing happened, it would still worry Ye Ziyu and provoke his conscience.

Was he really only five years old?

Xingxing's gaze met Di Mingjue's directly, and the hatred ingrained in him emanated from his eyes.

Sensing the wrong atmosphere, Ye Ziyu spoke up, "Mingjue, I want to eat some fruit."

"An apple? Or a banana?" Di Mingjue asked, "I'll go buy it for you right now."

"You choose whatever you like."

"Alright, if you need anything, press the bell to call the doctor. I'll be back soon."

Before leaving, Di Mingjue deliberately kissed Ye Ziyu's forehead. Men are sensitive when it comes to rivals, even a five-year-old child. He still wanted to assert his claim.

Ye Ziyu smiled helplessly. After he left, she got out of bed and went to Xingxing's hospital bed.

"You don't seem to like him. Can I ask why?"

At first, it wasn't obvious, but with their close interactions, Ye Ziyu felt that Xingxing's hostility towards Di Mingjue was too intense.

Xingxing refused to answer her question.

Sensing his emotional resistance, Ye Ziyu reached out and stroked his cheek, "Did he do something that made you unhappy? You can tell me. What if it's a misunderstanding between you?"

Xingxing remained silent.

The more he remained silent, the more uneasy Ye Ziyu became. She shifted her body, deeply concerned about Xingxing's inner feelings, "It's not bad to speak out. Whether it's family, friendship, or love, if there are any dissatisfactions, we must express them. Only then can our relationships not be damaged, but instead become more cohesive and better."

As she finished speaking, Xingxing, who had been looking down, raised his head with some emotion.

His gaze fell on Ye Ziyu's gentle face, and the scene of her unconscious state flashed in his mind.
