Mend past wrongs?
Ye Ziyu would never believe these words. Based on what she had done behind her back, there would be no chance for closeness between them. Moreover, she had taken her mother's place, becoming the instigator of everything that happened later.
"Ziyu, give me a chance. Let me prove myself properly, okay?" Shen Meixiu stepped forward, pleading with utter humility.
If opportunities were like cabbages on the street, then the existence of the police station would be meaningless.
Ye Ziyu coldly refused, "I'm sorry, I'm afraid I can't give you that chance. What you've done isn't something that can be undone just because I forgive you."
Shen Meixiu hadn't expected Ye Ziyu to reject her so decisively. She glanced back at Ye Qianzhi. He stood there as solid as a mountain, making no move to help her speak.
"Then what must I do for you to forgive me?" Shen Meixiu pressed on, unwilling to give up.
Seeing her persistence, Ye Ziyu still firmly rejected her, "I think we are doing quite well now. You don't need to trouble yourself with me. You know the obstacles between us. I don't want to say anything too harsh, and please stop disturbing my rest when you get back."
With words spoken to this extent, Ye Qianzhi no longer remained motionless. He came to Shen Meixiu's side and took her arm. "I'll have the driver take you back."
Shen Meixiu, in turn, grabbed his hand. "Qianzhi, say something for me."
Say what? He felt guilty towards Ye Ziyu and naturally wouldn't do anything to make her unhappy.
"Stop talking!" Ye Qianzhi forcefully pulled her away from the hospital room.
Once in the corridor, Shen Meixiu was unwilling to leave like this. She tugged at Ye Qianzhi's hand, still expressing her desire to reconcile with Ye Ziyu.

Looking at Ye Qianzhi considering the entire situation from Ye Ziyu's perspective, Shen Meixiu felt an even stronger urge to drive Ye Ziyu out of the Ye residence.
Her body straightened, and with an air of arrogance, she looked at Ye Qianzhi. "As my husband, if you are unwilling to mediate the relationship between me and the child you had with another woman, then I will prove myself through my own actions."
With that declaration, Shen Meixiu turned and walked towards the elevator.
Only after she disappeared from sight did Ye Qianzhi snap back to reality.
What was she planning to stir up now?
Her oath only made him feel uncomfortable.
Returning to the hospital room, Ye Qianzhi looked at Ye Ziyu apologetically. "Don't worry, I've sent her back. She won't bother you again."
"Mm," Ye Ziyu replied calmly.
Everything Shen Meixiu had done was her own doing; it couldn't be blamed on anyone else.
Ye Qianzhi had nothing more to say. He turned and joined the children.
Although he disliked Shen Meixiu, the toys she sent over were quite nice. The three children became lively at once, playing with great joy.

Shen Meixiu, who had returned from the hospital, was full of thorns. She carelessly kicked off her high heels and sat on the sofa with displeasure.
The servant who heard the commotion came out and, seeing her in this state, immediately became cautious.
"Madam." The maid approached her timidly.
Shen Meixiu was in a fit of rage. Not to mention people, even a passing dog would be an object of her disgust.
"Get out!"
Her first words were a common curse. The maid, terrified, quickly retreated from Shen Meixiu.
As she left, she bumped into Ye Shaoting, who was coming down from upstairs.
