After setting down a glass of water, Gu Xiuyu stood in place, unmoved. He showed no reaction, no matter how distressed Old Mr. Gu appeared.
Lowering his hand from his chest, Old Mr. Gu looked at him with disappointment. "With so many fine young women in the capital, you can't want anyone but Ye Ziyu?"
"Yes." Gu Xiuyu's expression was serious. "I have always followed your plans for my life. But for important life decisions, I wish to follow my own ideas."
The first time he met Ye Ziyu, he simply found this woman, who was also Chinese like him, to be very gentle. Later, after encountering her again at a restaurant, Gu Xiuyu truly fell in love with her. His affection, in the eyes of outsiders, was a fleeting infatuation, but only he knew it was a love destined for a lifetime.
Old Mr. Gu could not understand why his adult son was exhibiting the rebellious behavior of adolescence, still wanting to marry a woman who had already been married and had a child. "Madman!" Old Mr. Gu couldn't believe these immoral words were coming from his son, whom he had always been proud of. "Do you know that your actions have already made Di Mingjue aware?"
The reason he had specifically come to Gu Corporation to speak with him today was because Di Mingjue had called him. The entire phone call revolved around one matter. Gu Mother, through the wealthy wives she associated with, gathered information on eligible young ladies from their circles. While on the phone, she sent the information to Gu Xiuyu's email, along with the meeting location and time.
