Gu Xiuyu wasn't so foolish as to bring Ye Ziyu here without any precautions.
"Let's go back," Di Mingjue said.
Shen Lin couldn't believe it. "Go back now? But Madam is inside, we just need..."
"Just need to go in to bring her out?" Di Mingjue finished his unfinished sentence in a rhetorical question. "If we go in now, we're just offering ourselves up!"
"I was indeed too careless." Shen Lin immediately realized his mistake.
Back on the yacht, Di Mingjue took one last look at the surrounding environment, noting the features of the entrance.
Upon returning to the pier, Shen Lin's phone, which was in his pocket, rang. When he took it out, he saw over a dozen missed calls, all from Ye Chenhan.
"Where are you guys? Something's happened!"
Ye Chenhan's anxious voice was particularly jarring. Shen Lin moved the phone away from his ear and handed it to Di Mingjue.
"What is it?"
"Ziyu and Gu Xiuyu's wedding is tomorrow night!"
As soon as Di Mingjue heard this, his phone vibrated. He pulled it away from his ear; a news alert was displayed on the screen.
[Miss Ye and Mr. Gu's wedding will be held tomorrow evening at seven o'clock!]
A simple notification, with no address or even a single photo of the two of them.
If they were getting married tomorrow night, Gu Xiuyu's people would definitely be at the pier. Di Mingjue looked up sharply and instructed, "Go and bring our people over now."
"Bring them here?" Shen Lin asked.
Di Mingjue nodded. "Yes, bring them here immediately."
Not knowing what his plan was, the best course of action was to execute the order immediately.
Seeing that Di Mingjue wasn't planning to leave, Shen Lin left the pier alone.
Half an hour later, Shen Lin returned with a team of men in black and a very anxious Ye Chenhan.
"Aren't you worried?" Ye Chenhan couldn't help but embrace Di Mingjue upon seeing him. "He's going to force Ziyu to marry him tomorrow, and you know what happens after a wedding is held!"
Ye Ziyu didn't like him at all. If he were to force her into the bridal chamber, Ziyu, as a girl, would be no match for him. She would be the one at a disadvantage.
Di Mingjue looked at the men in black waiting behind Shen Lin and beckoned them forward.
This group of men in black was brought from the capital by him. He naturally felt more comfortable and confident with people he had personally trained. He surveyed the large pier and said, "Each of you stand in a designated spot. If you spot anyone acting suspiciously, take a photo and send it to me."
"Yes!" the men in black responded with loud voices.
Ye Chenhan watched them move in unison, each person taking up a position, and his confusion about Di Mingjue's actions deepened.
"What exactly are you up to? Can these people even be spotted just by looking at them?"
Di Mingjue crossed his arms and gazed out at the distant sea.
"I'm asking you, answer me!" Ye Chenhan impatiently tugged at his arm.
With his incessant questioning, Di Mingjue felt that even if he told him, Ye Chenhan wouldn't understand.
Time passed quickly. The fiery sun was beginning to set, its glow reflecting on the entire sea, turning the blue ocean into an orange-red.
Ye Chenhan was getting sleepy from waiting, his head nodding precariously, when a commotion erupted before him.
"What's wrong?" As soon as he opened his eyes, he saw Di Mingjue already on the yacht, and Shen Lin was boarding as well. Yet, he was dozing off by the car and no one had called him. Fearing he would be left behind, Ye Chenhan dragged his numb legs towards the yacht.
As soon as he climbed aboard, the yacht set off. He lost his footing and fell face-first.
He had come to help, so why was he always the one to suffer?
When Ye Chenhan finally recovered from his misery, he was stunned by the sight before him. Since when had there been such a place in this sea area?
