"Zi Yu, it's getting late," Gu Xiuyu said faintly, taking a sip of tea.
Ye Chenhan, standing before him, had spoken until his throat was dry, but Gu Xiuyu remained unaffected.
"You get out now!" Ye Chenhan pointed at his nose.
Beside them, Yu Xixi couldn't stop him. Ye Chenhan was like a village shrew, rushing forward to lay hands on Gu Xiuyu. Previously, his attitude had been good out of respect for Gu Xiuyu being Ye Zi Yu's paternal half-brother, not wanting to worsen their relationship. But now, with Gu Xiuyu constantly supporting Di Mingjue and shouting at him, Ye Chenhan naturally wouldn't hold back any longer.
Gu Xiuyu put down his crossed legs and tilted his head to look down at Ye Chenhan, who was towering over him. "Young Master Si, you don't seem to have the right to kick me out. Your red-faced anger looks quite ridiculous."
"Ridiculous?" Gu Xiuyu was so angry he felt like spitting blood, continuously inhaling and exhaling forcefully to suppress the rising rage. Gu Xiuyu stood up from the sofa. He was about the same height as Ye Chenhan, and they faced each other, neither giving ground. A mocking grin spread across his lips, and he lightly placed a hand on Ye Chenhan's shoulder. "Even more ridiculous is foolishness!"
"You!"
"Chenhan!"
Just as Ye Chenhan was about to make a move, Ye Zi Yu spoke from beside the bed. She shot an displeased glance at Gu Xiuyu and turned to Yu Xixi. "Take Chenhan back to the Ye residence first and check on Qian Qian and the others. If they're being noisy, take them to the hospital."
"Alright." Yu Xixi responded to Ye Zi Yu before stepping forward to pull Ye Chenhan. Ye Chenhan didn't want to leave, but Ye Zi Yu told him to, and Yu Xixi was pulling him away. He had no choice but to go.
"Shen Lin, stay here and watch him. Call me immediately if anything happens, or even call the police if necessary," Ye Chenhan instructed as he looked back.
Shen Lin would protect Ye Zi Yu without him even needing to say it.
After Ye Chenhan left the ward, the room instantly became quiet. Without someone to bicker with, Gu Xiuyu's attention shifted to Di Mingjue.
"Zi Yu, the medicine isn't on you, so why aren't you giving it to President Di?" Gu Xiuyu felt a surge of joy seeing Di Mingjue's pale, purplish face up close. Half the dose had already made him look like this. Another dose, and he wouldn't even see tonight's moonlight.
Gu Xiuyu's thoughts returned. Ye Zi Yu beside him didn't respond. "Zi Yu?" Gu Xiuyu nudged her arm. Ye Zi Yu's dislike for him had reached a physical reaction. At his slight touch, her body quickly flinched away, feeling an itch all over.
"Let's talk after Mingjue wakes up," Ye Zi Yu said, glancing at Shen Lin. The results of the medicine sent for testing hadn't come back yet. She wouldn't feed it to him no matter what. Ye Zi Yu stepped away from the bedside. Shen Lin, behind her, silently left.
"Mr. Gu, please sit and have some tea. Once Mingjue wakes up and takes the antidote, I will leave with you if there are no issues," Ye Zi Yu said, looking at Gu Xiuyu, who was still standing by the bed, unmoving. With him right in front of her, could he still cause trouble under her nose?
Gu Xiuyu walked to Ye Zi Yu's side and poured himself a glass of water into an empty cup. "Alright, I'm not in a hurry staying by your side." The later the antidote was taken, the greater the torment the poison would inflict on Di Mingjue. It would be best if he just kept sleeping like this, never waking up.
Ye Zi Yu ignored the water he poured and leaned to the side on the sofa, scrolling through her phone. If only she hadn't taken out her phone; it startled her. The scene of her and Gu Xiuyu in the restaurant was now trending on her phone. Clicking on the trending topics, the first five were about the two of them.
"Did you do this?" Ye Zi Yu held her phone screen upright in front of Gu Xiuyu.
