The hospital was bustling with people, making Di Mingjue, lying on the sickbed, unable to wait passively for news.
He looked at the hospital gown on his body and immediately ordered Shen Lin to get his going-home clothes.
Half an hour later, Di Mingjue shed the gown and appeared at the hospital entrance dressed in black casual wear. If outsiders didn't know his condition, it would be hard to imagine that just a few hours ago, he was a man on the verge of death from poisoning.
"Mr. Di, Young Master Si will be here soon. Shouldn't we wait for him?" Shen Lin inquired.
If they left, Ye Chenhan would miss them upon arrival. This would invisibly waste time and give Gu Xiuyu more opportunity to hide.
A taxi stopped in front of them. As a man, a woman, and a young child got out of the car, Di Mingjue stepped in.
Shen Lin quickly followed.
"To the police station," Di Mingjue said. "Call him and tell him to come to the police station to meet us after he gets his things."
"Okay." Shen Lin nodded.
The driver, seeing the grim expressions on their faces, watched them for a moment before asking, "Which police station?"
With so many police stations in the city, it was impossible to know which one without an address.
Di Mingjue didn't know the exact location either.
Shen Lin happened to be dialing Ye Chenhan's phone and got the specific location from him. "Driver, to the police station on Fuchuan Road."
"Alright." The driver stepped on the gas, and the car started moving.
Half an hour later, the taxi stopped in front of the police station.
Their arrival caused a palpable tension to fill the entire police station lobby.
"Brother Mingjue, you, you're better?" Yu Xixi could hardly believe that the person standing before her was Di Mingjue. Having seen him spit blood, she found it difficult to accept that he had recovered so quickly.
"Yes." Di Mingjue nodded indifferently, his gaze falling on the men inside the floor-to-ceiling window. "Are these the people Gu Xiuyu arranged to kidnap Zi Yu?"
The police were interrogating the men in the interrogation room. Seemingly acting under Gu Xiuyu's orders, no matter what the police asked, these men refused to give direct answers.
"Brother Mingjue, what are you going to do?" Yu Xixi watched as Di Mingjue pushed open the interrogation room door.
His intrusion startled the police. Before they could react, Di Mingjue walked past them and grabbed the collar of one of the men.
The police were only asking questions verbally; they weren't taking action. Di Mingjue's sudden move terrified the men before him.
"He's hitting people!"
"Officers, aren't you going to do anything about someone hitting people right in front of you?"
If not for their police uniforms, the officers would have gladly let Di Mingjue teach them a lesson. These men were acting like thugs, refusing to cooperate with the investigation.
A police officer stepped forward and tried to persuade him, "Mr. Di, please let go. If you resort to violence, your positions will be swapped, and it won't be of any benefit to Miss Ye's case."
Just then, Ye Chenhan arrived.
Upon entering and seeing the scene, he quickly walked over. "Mingjue, let go first!"
Di Mingjue, still gripping the man's collar, released his hold due to his last shred of reason.
Regaining his breath, the man assumed Di Mingjue couldn't do anything to them and immediately became smug. "Officers, I request personal protection."
"Personal protection?" the police officer scoffed. "Clarify your current status. If you don't cooperate with the interrogation, you won't be so leisurely sitting here."
They had been to police stations many times before and weren't easily intimidated.
The man feigned fear, but his words were mocking, "Are the police going to hit people too?"
Hitting them? It wasn't worth it for people like them.
The police officer slammed the table and roared, "Behave yourselves and stop being flippant!"
