Chapter 938 Discovering the Abandoned Cell Phone

"Wait a moment," the person in charge said before turning back to the computer.

Di Mingjue watched him bend over the computer, typing away, his eyes scanning the surroundings. Without another word, he turned and walked out.

Ye Chenhan wanted to call out to him for an inquiry, but the person in charge ahead had already found the results.

"How is it, did you find anything?"

"I'm sorry, Mr. Ye, we've checked with the authorities, and there's no passenger named Gu Xiuyu."

"Then check for Ye Ziyu again."

"Alright."

"Forget it, he wouldn't be so foolish as to let us find them so easily."

Ye Chenhan muttered to himself, then turned to look for the departing Di Mingjue.

The dock not only had passenger ships but also fishing boats on the other side. There were more fishermen than passengers.

Di Mingjue looked at the fishermen tidying their nets and walked up to try and strike up a conversation.

"Sir, do you have something to say to me?" The fisherman paused his work and looked up at Di Mingjue.

"Have you been here the whole time?" Di Mingjue asked, looking at the fishing net spread out before him.

He had observed for a long time. A small portion of the fishing net had already been sorted, which wouldn't be accomplished in a short time, indicating the other party had been there for a while. However, there was also the possibility of people taking turns to rest.

The fisherman nodded, and as he spoke with Di Mingjue, he coincidentally stopped to rest. "Just got back from fishing, these nets need to be tidied up quickly before they dry."

The results and replies matched what he had heard. Di Mingjue took out his phone and opened the photo album. "Have you seen her here?"

The fisherman leaned in for a look and then shook his head at once. "No."

"Please think carefully, have you really not seen her appearing around here with a man?" Di Mingjue persistently questioned. xxs1

A woman was already strange enough, and now a man too. The fisherman looked at him curiously. "What's your relationship with the woman in the photo?"

"My wife," Di Mingjue replied.

Upon hearing this, the fisherman's face immediately showed sympathy and disdain for Ye Ziyu in the photo. He became enthusiastic in his conversation with Di Mingjue.

"They didn't come here. I've been here all morning, and I remember clearly who walked past me. Your wife is beautiful, and if she walked past me, I would definitely remember."

"Then have you seen anyone acting strangely?"

"Strangely?"

Di Mingjue watched the fisherman recall earnestly, his heart feeling as if it were clutched, his breath catching.

A few minutes later, the fisherman pointed to the spot behind Di Mingjue. "A car was parked right there. It's a very expensive car, the doors weren't closed, and the keys were still in it, but I don't know where the owner went. Fortunately, the people at the dock are honest; if it were in the city center, this car would have been driven away long ago."

An abandoned car?

Di Mingjue didn't have time to thank him and hurried towards the spot the fisherman had indicated.

As expected, a black sedan was parked there. Di Mingjue walked closer and saw a mobile phone placed on the back seat.

Ye Ziyu's phone was here, but she was nowhere to be seen.

Di Mingjue looked out at the vast, boundless sea, his hand clenching the phone with unease.

"Mingjue," Ye Chenhan walked over, about to inform him of the situation, when his gaze fell upon the car beside them. "Isn't this Gu Xiuyu's car? I saw it outside the police station."

He took a deliberate look at the license plate and was even more certain.

Ye Chenhan looked around and immediately got excited. "They must not have gone far from here. I'll arrange for people to search for them now."

"They're no longer at the dock," Di Mingjue said.

Gu Xiuyu had discarded the phone in the car, so he must have prepared to ensure Ye Ziyu was completely away from everything here.

Why would he be so foolish as to use public transportation?
