"Pretend you didn't see anything, or you won't see tomorrow's sun." After issuing the threat, the man turned and caught up with his accomplices who had already gotten into the car.
Ye Ziyu was restrained in the middle of the back seat and couldn't move at all. The slightest shift in her body caused the men beside her to immediately turn and stare at her.
"Where are you taking me?" Ye Ziyu asked the man in the front passenger seat. Observing his demeanor, he appeared to be the leader of these men in black.
Since getting into the car, the man had been looking down at his phone. It was highly probable he was communicating with Gu Xiuyu.
The man's gaze shifted from his phone screen, glanced at Ye Ziyu, and then returned to his screen.
"I'm talking to you. Where are you taking me?" Ye Ziyu, agitated, tried to stand up from her seat.
Seeing Ye Ziyu's frantic movements, the man beside her immediately raised his hand and pressed down on her shoulder.
"Sit still. Don't move!"
Ye Ziyu glared at the man who spoke, turning her head.
"Stop the car! Stop the car now!"
Ye Ziyu waved her hands, struggling forcefully against the men's grip.
Just then, the phone in the front passenger's hand rang.
He glanced at the screen, then back at the restless Ye Ziyu.
"We're on our way, but Miss Ye has been causing trouble."
After listening to the call, the man handed the phone to Ye Ziyu. "It's our President Gu's call."
Upon hearing this, Ye Ziyu immediately reached out and took the phone.
"Gu Xiuyu, what exactly are you doing!" Ye Ziyu unleashed a barrage of questions into the phone. "Stop the car immediately, or I'll jump out."
Jump?
Gu Xiuyu, on the other end of the line, found it amusing. "With my people all around, do you think you have a chance to jump out?"
"There's only one way to find out if I have a chance," Ye Ziyu angrily tossed the phone back to the man in front.
If she didn't escape on the way to see Gu Xiuyu, she would have absolutely no opportunity once they arrived.
Ye Ziyu looked at the men guarding her on either side, then closed her eyes and leaned back against the car seat, appearing compliant.
The sudden quiet caused everyone in the car to relax their guard.
The traffic light ahead was red, and the car stopped. Feeling the car come to a smooth halt, Ye Ziyu suddenly clutched her stomach.
The men beside her looked at Ye Ziyu, bewildered.
"What's wrong?" the man in front asked.
The man in the back seat shook his head. "Miss Ye?"
"My stomach, my stomach hurts..." Ye Ziyu slid down from her seat, curling up in the gap between her seat and the seat in front.
After all, Gu Xiuyu had explicitly instructed them to protect Ye Ziyu on the way back. But now that she was reacting so severely, the men were at a loss.
"I'll call President Gu," the man in front said.
Ye Ziyu absolutely could not let him make the call. She reached out and grabbed the man's sleeve. "I need to go to the restroom! Take me there now."
"Boss, it's better to call President Gu. If she runs off after getting out of the car, we're finished."
"Yeah, we're almost there. Just make her hold on a bit longer."
Seeing that they were unwilling to let her out, Ye Ziyu wedged herself into the gap, saying nothing further.
"Boss, hurry and call President Gu," the man behind her urged.
The call was made, and Ye Ziyu expected Gu Xiuyu to stop her from getting out. To her surprise, he actually agreed.
The driver temporarily diverted the car's direction, heading towards a public restroom by the roadside. The car was filled with men, and not a single one could accompany her inside.
"Miss Ye, you can go in. We'll wait for you right here outside."
After the leader spoke, two of his subordinates instantly stood on either side, guarding the entrance like stone lions.
