Jiang Feifei felt no reliance on Ye Shaoting anymore, but instead, hatred. He wanted to send her away with money. How could she let him have his way without any worries?
When she agreed back then, the moment she turned and left, Jiang Feifei had already decided to drag everyone involved down to hell with her.
Ye Shaoting turned and walked towards the Ye residence. Not long after, he encountered Ye Chenhan returning.
Ye Chenhan looked exhausted, holding his phone and recounting the unfair treatment he had received that day.
"I finally understand. A married couple is like grasshoppers on the same rope, while I, a brother by blood, am just a tool," Ye Chenhan grumbled, kicking a bush in the roadside flower bed in frustration.
His foot got caught, and the other leg lost its balance, causing him to sway and fall into the flower bed.
"Be careful!" Ye Shaoting stepped forward and grabbed his swaying body, preventing his handsome face from being scratched by the branches.
Still shaken, Ye Chenhan forgot he was on the phone with Yu Xixi. "Brother, thank goodness for you! You're the only one who treats me the best!"
Ye Shaoting was hugged tightly by Ye Chenhan, feeling the impact of his affectionate gesture.
"Chenhan, what's wrong?"
Yu Xixi's worried voice came from the phone. Ye Shaoting pushed Ye Chenhan's shoulder away and said, "Your phone."
"Oh, oh." Ye Chenhan, like a simpleton, snapped back to reality and quickly replied to Yu Xixi on the phone, "It's nothing. I just almost fell. Xixi, you go wash up first. I ran into my big brother, and I'll call you again when I get home."
Yu Xixi on the other end of the line understandingly agreed.
Putting his phone in his pocket, Ye Chenhan slung an arm around Ye Shaoting's shoulder. "Big brother, why are you out here so late?"
"Out for a run," Ye Shaoting replied concisely.
Looking at his attire, Ye Chenhan didn't suspect anything.
After walking a few steps, he suddenly remembered what happened at Di Ju company during the day. Slapping his thigh, he exclaimed excitedly, "Big brother, do you know that Xingxing and Xiao Ran were kidnapped?"
Facing his direct gaze, Ye Shaoting nodded.
"You know too?" Ye Chenhan stopped and excitedly waved his arms. "Am I the only one in the family who didn't know?"
"You won't believe it, I went to Di Mingjue's place today. As soon as I got there, I saw him interrogating the kidnappers. Before I could even figure out what was going on, he assigned me to watch the kids. Being treated like a nanny to watch the children is one thing, but he never even told me what exactly happened in the end.
Oh, right. When he and Ye Ziyu left, they mentioned a name. It sounded like Jiang Feifei. Do you know her?" Ye Chenhan poured out his story incessantly.
His news was too slow!
Jiang Feifei had just come to see him. It seemed she had already fallen into Ye Ziyu's sights.
In a week or a month? She might be caught by Di Mingjue and suffer the same fate as Jiang Wenbin.
But none of that was his concern.
Ye Shaoting quickened his pace and continued walking.
"Big brother, aren't you curious?" Ye Chenhan followed behind. "They seem to be hiding something serious from us. Although we're not siblings from the same mother, we share the same father, half our blood is the same. Yet, they don't treat us like family and deliberately keep things from us."
Facing the grumbling in his ear, Ye Shaoting didn't respond.
As they arrived at the Ye residence, Ye Chenhan received a call from Di Mingjue. Upon learning that they were on their way to the hospital and wouldn't be home tonight, Ye Chenhan immediately asked for the hospital's address.
