Su Qi placed her hand on her stomach and rubbed it, forcing a wry smile. "Baby, they all say Mommy is going to find you a stepfather."
Upon arriving at the temple, Su Qi got out of the car and walked directly through the corridor into a meditation room.
The meditation room where Qin Xue resided was a one-bedroom, one-living room affair, essentially including a tea room. While not spacious, it was very elegant.
Su Qi pushed open the door, expecting to find only Qin Xue. To her surprise, a man was seated beside Qin Xue. He was impeccably dressed in a suit, his trousers sharp and clearly tailor-made. The suit itself was expensive.
A suit, if not worn well, could make one look like a bodyguard or an insurance salesman. However, this man wore it with an effortless air of a CEO.
There was a popular saying online: "The male lead in novels finally has a face."
It was likely referring to the man before her.
From this angle, Su Qi could only see the man's back. Even without seeing his face, his aura was undeniable.
And there was a hint of… familiarity?
Qin Xue glanced at Su Qi, paused her conversation, and stood up, walking towards Su Qi with a smile. "Xiao Su, you're here."
The man heard this, stood up, and then turned around as well.
Su Qi had intended to greet Qin Xue, but the moment the man turned, seeing his face, her expression instantly changed.
Although the man wasn't wearing a mask, Su Qi recognized him immediately.
It was him.
Why was he in Qin Xue's room? What was their relationship?
Did Qin Xue find a young, handsome man just to provoke Huo Qingrang?
But this man bore a slight resemblance to Qin Xue herself.
Su Qi's mind was suddenly filled with a multitude of questions.
"Let me introduce you. This is my sister's son, he's the same age as Tingyun, his surname is Qin, and his given name is Yusheng. He's here in Shencheng on business and heard I wasn't feeling well, so he came to visit."
Qin Xue linked her arm with Su Qi's and introduced her to Qin Yusheng. "Yusheng, this is..."
Qin Xue paused, clearly unsure how to introduce Su Qi. Should she say former daughter-in-law, or what?
"This is my godmother, and I am her goddaughter," Su Qi said with a smile, diffusing the awkwardness.
Qin Yusheng. So the man who had invited her to dance at the ball that day was named Qin Yusheng.
The man gazed at Su Qi for a few seconds before moving his lips, a slight smile gracing them. "Xiao Su, it's been a few days. Are you well?"
Now it was Qin Xue's turn to be surprised. She looked from Su Qi to Qin Yusheng. "Have you two met before?"
Su Qi nodded, then shook her head. "We've met once, I suppose. I just didn't expect you to be a relative of yours."
She had always heard that Qin Xue came from a prestigious family, a renowned affluent family from the north. In terms of strength and wealth, they were not inferior to the Huo family at all. It seemed the rumors were true.
Even a cousin's son was so outstanding; the entire family must be extraordinary.
"Are you surprised? He's the most outstanding of all my children..."
Before Qin Xue could finish her praise, Qin Yusheng said with a faint smile, "Auntie, you should go rest."
Qin Xue wanted to say she wasn't tired, but looking at the situation and his tone, it was clear he thought she was in the way and wanted them to have some private time.
Huo Tingyun hadn't cherished Su Qi properly. She hadn't expected that someone as discerning as Yusheng would immediately take a liking to her.
"Alright, alright. I'll go rest first. You two chat."
Qin Xue entered the meditation room, and as the sliding door closed, only the two of them remained in the tea room. Su Qi's breath was still filled with the scent of sandalwood from the room.
Before, when she smelled this scent on Huo Tingyun, she felt suffocated.
She hadn't realized how pleasant sandalwood was, bringing her peace of mind.
"Would you like to take a walk outside in the courtyard?"
"Okay."
They simply walked in silence, neither feeling awkward. This serene and leisurely atmosphere was something she hadn't even experienced when she was with Brother Su Yan.
Su Qi didn't drive back home until evening, and it was already late at night.
At Shengshi Group, on the top floor, Li Caiyi had a slight cold today and unusually didn't come to the company. After Huo Tingyun finished his meeting, he returned to his office. He was alone, and the large, spacious office felt even quieter.
Lin Te knocked and entered. "Master Huo, are we returning to Juyuan, or...?"
Huo Tingyun looked up, his dark eyes deep. "Not returning to Juyuan."
The car stopped at the foot of a high-end residential building.
This complex was not far from Shengshi Group, only about one to two kilometers from Juyuan.
Lin Te parked the car and looked at the high-end residential building through the car window.
He heard that Su Qi's new residence was here, but he wasn't sure if it was true.
"Master Huo, are you planning to buy a property here?"
Lin Te couldn't help but ask.
He expected a silent response from the man, but instead, the man in the back seat spoke in a hoarse voice.
"Buy the entire building, except for that one unit."
That one unit? Which unit?
"The unit Ms. Su lives in?"
Lin Te, not fearing death, asked, and immediately wished he could bite off his own tongue.
"Did I say that?"
The man's voice suddenly turned cold.
Lin Te understood. "Master Huo, I shouldn't have pried. I deserve to die. Please calm down, your subordinate will handle it immediately!"
The next day, Su Qi woke up and went to work. As she went downstairs, she noticed many people from property management. She didn't know what was happening, but she vaguely heard talk of acquisitions and buying property.
Su Qi was stunned. Who was so rich and willful? This was the most expensive area in Shencheng, and this complex was a high-end one. Although there was one unit per floor, and dozens of units in total, if they were all sold, wouldn't that be tens of billions?
She couldn't imagine the happiness of the rich. Su Qi didn't like to meddle in other people's affairs, so she got into her car and left.
Upon arriving at the company, she found another bouquet of flowers on her desk. Today, however, the pink roses had been replaced by pure white carnations. Each one was flawlessly white, soft and fragrant. The large bouquet occupied almost half of her desk; she didn't know how many flowers there were.
Su Qi walked forward a few steps, picked up the card, and saw a line written on it.
"The sunset is beautiful only when viewed with you."
It was Qin Yusheng!
Su Qi's heart skipped a beat.
So the late-night snacks that day and the pink roses yesterday were all from Qin Yusheng.
Yang Tianhao entered, holding documents, and smiled mischievously. "Sister Su Qi, it seems you already know who's pursuing you. Tell me quickly!" He was itching to know!
Who was that mysterious man? Day after day, he sent flowers and pastries. Yang Tianhao wouldn't believe he wasn't interested in Su Qi.
Although he hadn't dated a woman before and preferred men, he understood romantic relationships well. After all, he worked in the entertainment industry and had that kind of sensitivity.
"Confess everything. Which noble young master is it?"
Yang Tianhao walked over, placed the documents on the desk, and bent down to look at the bouquet on the desk. Although these were carnations, their quality was completely different from the ordinary carnations sold domestically. Even the petals were more beautiful, and the fragrance was richer. Coupled with the exquisite packaging, they looked expensive.
