Two figures flew rapidly through the air. They were the siblings Gu Li and Hai Weier. They looked somewhat dishevelled, having searched continuously for Xue San since losing his trace the previous night.
Passing by a river, Hai Weier waved her hand, drawing a stream of water towards her. It then swirled gently around her fingertips.
“Brother, he’s not in this area. That guy might have truly escaped.”
Hai Weier said with a frown, a subtle worry creeping into her heart. They had gravely injured Xue San, and for him to recover, he would need to consume blood.
However, this place was too far from the demon territory. Even if there were a few demon beasts, their strength was too low. Therefore, he wouldn't choose to consume demon beast blood to recover.
That left humans. There were too many weak humans now. Once encountered by that Xue Zi, they would have no power to resist.
Gu Li fell silent upon hearing this. He had been careless last night. He thought he could slowly wear down his opponent and hadn't used his full strength. As a result, the opponent had escaped.
“Check if there are any human settlements nearby and go take a look there.”
Gu Li spoke, a bad feeling growing in his heart.
Hai Weier’s heart trembled at his words. She hoped the worst hadn’t happened. She manipulated the water in her hand, which moved as agilely as a small snake.
The Atlanteans had a natural affinity with water, allowing them to glean any information they desired through it.
Immediately, Hai Weier’s body stiffened, and she turned to look behind them, her voice trembling slightly.
“Near where we fought last night, there’s a small city!”
Last night, both Gu Li and Hai Weier had been tricked by Xue San. He had desperately transformed into scattered blood and fled, but the strongest mass of blood had lured the siblings in the wrong direction.
Thus, they were now at least half a day’s journey from the location of last night’s battle.
Gu Li looked grave at her words. He glanced at his sister and then said,
“Let’s hope it’s not the worst-case scenario. If it is, remember to wake me up promptly later.”
Hai Weier’s body trembled slightly, her face pale, as if recalling something terrifying. However, she then took a deep breath and nodded.
“Rumble!”
Gu Li gently swung the trident in his hand, and the entire river beneath their feet began to boil.
“Roar!”
The entire river let out a series of roars. Against all natural order, the river began to flow upstream, surging and turbulent.
“Let’s go!”
Gu Li spoke, leaping into the river. Hai Weier followed closely.
“Boom!”
The river, as if boiling, surged upstream like a ferocious beast at extreme speed.
The figures of Gu Li and Hai Weier had long since vanished.
Meanwhile, on Qin’s side, all the Emperor-level martial artists of Qin had been busy these past few days. Blood slaves had appeared in almost every city.
They had lost their minds and attacked anyone they saw, causing considerable unrest.
But fortunately, Qin had made thorough preparations. Every city had an Emperor-level expert stationed there, so as soon as unrest broke out, it was forcefully suppressed.
It was amidst these disturbances over the past few days that Li Xiaotian finally found a trace of a Xue Zi.
It wasn't due to any tracking secret techniques, but rather because he had previously cultivated Blood Sea techniques, allowing him to sense a Xue Zi cultivating the same art.
In a gully, Li Xiaotian intercepted the opponent.
However, the identity of the Xue Zi before him was somewhat unexpected for Li Xiaotian. He had seen the individual before, and in fact, that person had even rendered him a small favor when he returned from the Blood Sea.
“Xia Fei!”
Li Xiaotian spoke sternly, looking at the Xue Zi before him with a complex gaze.
“Haha, Dragon King, long time no see.”
Xia Fei said, his eyes full of playful mockery. There was a time when Li Xiaotian was a towering mountain to him, someone he could only look up to.
And now, he had attained the same status as him.
If not for the Blood Sea, he might still be that insignificant ant, still bowing and scraping subserviently whenever he encountered Li Xiaotian.
But now, things were different. Although he still felt a trace of fear towards Li Xiaotian, he no longer feared him in his heart.
Even if his strength wasn't equal to Li Xiaotian’s, Xia Fei was confident he could protect himself.
“Which Blood Son of the Blood Sea?”
Li Xiaotian spoke, his gaze turning cold. Regardless of the opponent’s identity, he was no longer human now.
“Fifth!”
Xia Fei declared, a proud glint in his eyes, madness flickering within. He was no longer the weak ant he once was.
“Fifth? Heh, then you can die!”
Li Xiaotian sneered, his long saber striking out in response. At the same time, he instantly entered a demonic state, unleashing endless black energy that enveloped the surrounding environment.
“Boom!”
With a deafening explosion, Xia Fei was forced back, spitting blood. His eyes flashed with shock. He was worthy of the title Dragon King; even though both were at the late stage of Emperor level, the former was far more powerful.
“Heh heh, Dragon King is still as formidable as ever. However, you can’t defeat me.”
Xia Fei said with a sinister grin, his body instantly exploding into scattered drops of blood, spreading outwards.
But then a scream echoed. The dispersed blood suddenly coalesced, and Xia Fei’s figure reappeared on the spot.
His expression was one of shock, filled with disbelief.
“How is this possible?!! What the hell is this black mist?”
Xia Fei yelled at Li Xiaotian. He had intended to transform into blood water and escape, but he hadn’t anticipated the surrounding black energy voraciously consuming the blood water he had become.
In just that short time, the essence blood he had lost was equivalent to losing his essence blood in a full death. How could this not shock him?
After all, while he wasn’t Li Xiaotian’s match, it would never be that easy for the latter to kill him even once.
But just now, mere strange black mist had caused him to lose a vast amount of essence blood.
“Hmph, tell me the locations of the other Xue Zi, and I’ll tell you what this is.”
Li Xiaotian coldly sneered and shot towards Xia Fei. Seeing this, a vicious look flashed in Xia Fei’s eyes as he roared and charged forward.
“Bang!” Xia Fei was sent flying by a punch from Li Xiaotian, blood erupting from his chest. Compared to Li Xiaotian, his strength was still too inferior.
“Damn it!!!” Xia Fei gritted his teeth, observing his surroundings. If he had known this would happen, he wouldn’t have engaged with Li Xiaotian earlier.
“Whoosh!”
Xia Fei flew off in one direction, intending to escape. At the very least, he wanted to escape the area shrouded by the peculiar black mist, otherwise, many of his abilities would be unusable.
“Can you escape?”
Li Xiaotian sneered. Suddenly, the black mist before Xia Fei stirred, and a massive black palm print slammed towards him.
“Damn it! Break for me!”
Xia Fei roared, gritting his teeth and spitting out a mouthful of blood, which transformed into a long sword, shooting towards the suddenly appearing black palm print.
