Chapter 389: Chapter 389 Recording the Video
Sheng Tang quietly returned to the front building.
Her phone was still there.
Only a few hours of recording, the battery was almost dead.
She pressed save, quickly returning to the main building.
"Help me find a charger." Sheng Tang said.
Sheng Zong ran to ask the servant, who soon came back with a power bank for Sheng Tang.
Sheng Tang thanked.
Just at this moment, Sheng Tang saw Sheng Qiao flicking water droplets from his hands, walking out from the restroom on the first floor.
Sheng Qiao glanced in the direction of the dining room. The adults were still talking, seemingly not very pleasant, as the atmosphere was a bit tense.
"What are you talking about?" Sheng Qiao asked Sheng Tang and Sheng Zong, while grabbing tissues from the coffee table to wipe the water from his hands.
Her series of actions were very deliberate.
Sheng Tang smiled and said, "Nothing, just watching a video."
Seeing they indeed opened the video, Sheng Qiao didn’t detect any abnormality, appearing clueless and ignorant, feeling triumphant as she echoed a few words before heading upstairs.
As soon as she stepped on the stairs, Sheng Tang stretched and handed the phone to her brother: "I need to go to the restroom again, you watch first, don’t wait for me."
Sheng Qiao didn’t think much of it.
Sheng Tang looked towards the restroom.
There was a restroom on the second floor, and all of Sheng Qiao’s rooms had their own bathrooms, making it unnecessary for her to specifically go downstairs to use the restroom.
Using the restroom was one thing, but Sheng Qiao deliberately chatting with Sheng Tang and Sheng Zong made it even more unusual.
Sheng Tang walked over, noticing the coatroom beside the restroom, where they placed their jackets after giving them to the servant upon entering.
Something stirred in her mind.
Could this be the reason for Sheng Qiao coming downstairs?
Seeing no one around, Sheng Tang entered the coatroom, searching through the four family jackets.
Then, she found something.
She was stunned.
With this thought, Sheng Tang slightly moved her head, quietly placing the item in the pocket of her pants.
She returned to the living room.
Her brother had muted the sound, watching the video recorded by her phone.
The video continuously showed no one, requiring fast-forwarding.
Around an hour in, Sheng Zhang sneaked upstairs. He took out a key and opened the locked room.
He stayed in the room for about ten minutes, then came out stealthily.
Sheng Zong saw this and whispered to his sister, "When lunch was almost over, he went out for a while and didn’t return for long; turns out he went there. Sis, what’s in that room?"
Sheng Tang didn’t know either.
Then, they quickly fast-forwarded again.
No one appeared on camera again.
Finally, it was Sheng Tang going upstairs to retrieve her phone.
The whole process took several hours, with only Sheng Zhang going there and spending ten minutes.
Sheng Tang carefully saved the video.
"Sis, what’s the use of this?" Sheng Zong asked.
Sheng Tang wasn’t sure yet.
Over in the living room, the old man seemed to have finished talking to his three sons and daughters-in-law.
He intended to look at his pocket watch.
He touched his pocket and found the pocket watch was missing.
The old man didn’t care much at first, remembering he left the pocket watch in the study.
However, the pocket watch was a keepsake from him and his second wife, a valuable item he always carried.
Momentarily forgotten, he felt uneasy and immediately called the servant: "Go upstairs to the desk and bring my pocket watch down."
He distinctly recalled placing the pocket watch on the left side of the desk.
The servant responded.
A moment later, the servant came downstairs: "Master, the pocket watch is not on the desk."
"What?" The old man frowned, "I clearly... Truly useless...."
He decided to go upstairs to search himself.
At this point, he particularly missed Secretary Cai - if Secretary Cai were here, such things wouldn’t happen.
Unfortunately, it was New Year’s, and even Secretary Cai had to go home.
