Braised Eggplant with Minced Pork
Chapter 143 New Training Content (2/5)
Dynamic vision, this was the first time he'd heard of this term.
Olsen realized she was using terminology more common in tennis when Tang Tian asked her about it.
She went on to give Tang Tian a simple explanation.
Dynamic vision is the ability of the eyes to capture images, decompose them, and perceive the movement of moving objects when observing them. It's the ability to perceive the details of moving objects.
In other words, it refers to a person's ability to observe dynamic changes, and it's a very important talent in tennis.
If your dynamic vision is good, you can quickly capture the dynamics of the tennis ball and react accordingly.
After listening to Olsen, Tang Tian felt like he had suddenly discovered a new continent.
His dynamic vision should be very average. He was able to catch Olsen's balls entirely because of his speed and reaction time.
But this dynamic vision seemed like it would also be very useful on the basketball court.
Especially in steals, if you can accurately capture the dynamics of the ball, or the state of the ball in the opponent's hands, the success rate of steals will be greatly improved.
This wasn't something included in the system's skills and attributes.
And he also remembered that in his previous life, Stephen Curry's training program included something similar, dribbling while catching tennis balls with his bare hands.
His dynamic vision was currently average. If he could start training it in advance, maybe he wouldn't have to wait until he bought a new skill with kryptonite to improve his defensive deterrence.
Thinking of this, he couldn't help but smile. This tennis match had brought some unexpected gains.
"What are you smiling at?" Olsen asked curiously.
"Nothing, I just think it's fun to play tennis with you, and I'd like to play more often in the future," Tang Tian said.
Olsen's face flushed slightly, and she nodded.
After playing tennis with Olsen for a day, Tang Tian went back to training the next day.
After training that day, Procopio came to the training hall. It had been a while since he'd been there.
After greeting Thompson, Procopio pulled Tang Tian aside for a chat at the door.
"I accept your invitation."
What caught Tang Tian off guard was that Procopio had finally accepted his invitation to become his personal trainer!
This was definitely good news!
Although it was somewhat unexpected, it made sense upon closer inspection.
Tang Tian's popularity had soared since becoming the Godfather, and to some extent, he was now worthy of Procopio's status. Of course, the more important reason was that the NBA lockout seemed indefinite, and Procopio's position as a Mavericks trainer couldn't materialize.
In this way, his agreeing to Tang Tian's invitation seemed like a natural turn of events.
Procopio was highly skilled, humble, and loyal. Coupled with the good relationship the two had developed over the summer, Tang Tian had definitely found a core member for his team.
After signing the contract, Procopio officially became a member of Tang Tian's team.
Including Cecilia, the nutritionist, and Karl, the photographer, his personal team was gradually starting to take shape.
"Do you know about dynamic vision?" Tang Tian asked Procopio as soon as they signed the contract.
"It's a term that's used more often in tennis," Procopio's answer made him happy.
"Do you know how to train it?" Tang Tian asked expectantly.
Procopio nodded.
"Great!" Tang Tian couldn't help but exclaim excitedly.
As expected, a high-level trainer was different. The breadth of knowledge they possessed was much greater than that of ordinary trainers.
Before, when Tang Tian was losing weight and gaining muscle, especially when gaining muscle, he needed to ensure sufficient sleep time in addition to his diet in order to build muscle, so he basically went to bed early.
But now that he had almost finished gaining muscle, his evenings were actually free. Using this time for dynamic vision training would not only not affect his daytime training, but also make full use of the time.
In the following days, with Procopio's help, Tang Tian began training his dynamic vision.
Procopio wrote down all the classifications and training content in detail.
The first part was called dvA dynamic visual acuity, which is actually a person's visual acuity for capturing objects moving horizontally in front of them.
Training this area would allow Tang Tian to spot passes from afar more quickly, which would greatly help his catch-and-shoot threes and diving steals.
There were two ways to train this, one was more primitive, and it didn't necessarily have to be done on the training ground.
On a streetcar or bus, look out the window at the signs, advertisements, and street signs on the side of the road, get used to observing while moving, you can even do it while running.
The other is a tennis training method, find a tennis ball and write numbers on it, then hang it from the ceiling and let it swing horizontally from side to side, get used to reading the numbers on it.
The second part is called kvA dynamic visual acuity, which refers to the visual acuity that can clearly capture objects quickly approaching you.
Its function overlaps with the first part, but it will be more useful when defending around the front, allowing you to intercept passes to guards going inside ahead of time.
There are also two ways to train this part, and one of them is also more primitive, which is to look at the cars coming towards you while walking, quickly read the license plate numbers of the cars, or see the people inside the car clearly.
The second type is also from tennis. Using a tennis ball with numbers on it, have an assistant throw it at you from a distance of more than 5 meters, and see the numbers on the ball clearly while moving.
The previous two parts are the basics, the purpose is to give you more accurate insight on the court, the next few parts of the training are the key.
The third part, instantaneous vision, is not just about capturing, it requires you to complete three judgments in an instant: What is the current situation? What is the next situation that will appear? What to do?
This is also the most effective help for Tang Tian in defense.
This part of the training is relatively primitive compared to the previous two. The first is to walk down the street and suddenly look back quickly, then quickly turn your head back and remember and recall the things you saw in that instant; the second is to take a book or magazine, quickly flip through the pages, and in the process, use your eyes to quickly capture the words or pictures inside and then recall them.
The fourth part, depth perception, is actually a sense of distance.
This is very important on the court. Having an accurate judgment of distance allows you to make the most effective response, such as how far away the opponent's pass is from you, whether you can give up your defender and go to steal it, or whether your positioning is timely enough to catch the ball, whether you can get enough space to shoot, and so on.
