After Sea Horse released a mental shock to block the kunai, it saw a powerful aura appear before its eyes. Looking up, it suddenly met a pair of scarlet eyes, within which lay a complex Yin-Yang pattern.
It was Yu Zhibo’s Mangekyo Sharingan!
“Genjutsu: Kasei!”
As Yu Zhibo unleashed the genjutsu, Sea Horse immediately felt all the sights before it change.
Genjutsu: Kasei was a type of illusion cast through the unique visual illusions of the Sharingan. Enemies trapped within the mental world constructed by the caster would feel their bodies pinned by giant nails, rendering them unable to move freely, while simultaneously experiencing the illusion of pain.
This was a lower-tier version of Tsukuyomi, but when cast by Yu Zhibo’s Mangekyo Sharingan, it was enough to subdue Sea Horse, who was of the same level but possessed far less mental strength.
After falling victim to the genjutsu, Sea Horse found itself in a world with a blood-red sky and a desolate landscape. It was currently bound to a massive stone pillar, its body impaled by half-meter thick iron nails. Blood flowed from the wounds created by the nails, down its body, and onto the stone pillar beneath, dyeing it red.
At the same time, waves of intense pain emanated from various parts of its body, causing it to roar in terror.
In the outside world, however, it appeared dazed, its gaze vacant.
Having subdued Sea Horse, Yu Zhibo did not linger to chat with Lu Renjia and the others. Instead, he placed his palm on Sea Horse’s body and entered the Pure Land space together with it.
“Holy crap, what just happened?” Lu Renjia stared in disbelief, unable to comprehend the sudden turn of events.
“That huge Sea Horse, it’s just gone?” Zhao Si, standing beside him, was equally bewildered.
Inside the Pure Land space.
“Little Yu, what exactly are you planning to do?”
In the wooden house, Lin Wanjun, who was healing her injuries, opened her eyes. Looking through the window at Yu Zhibo standing beside the Zhu Yan light barrier, a complex expression flickered in her eyes.
Although she didn’t know what Yu Zhibo was doing, seeing the slightly perverted smile on the proud clone’s face and Yu Zhibo’s actions of collecting the corpses of numerous A-grade demonic beasts, she suspected they were conducting some sort of wicked experiment, which vaguely filled her with unease.
“It’s merely a method of controlling souls, Aunt Lin. You’ll understand soon enough. Zhu Yan killed my parents; do you think I would let it off easily?”
Yu Zhibo smiled at Lin Wanjun, then looked at Zhu Yan’s corpse with cold eyes.
“Controlling souls…”
Lin Wanjun’s pupils contracted. After a moment of silence, she said, “I hope you won’t stray from the path and do anything that harms the nation!”
“That’s a given!”
Yu Zhibo waved his hand, and a light barrier materialized out of thin air, obscuring him and Sea Horse. Only then did he say to his clone, “Let’s begin, my pride!”
The Nine-Tailed Celestial Fox, however, paid no mind to these matters. She watched Yu Zhibo within the light barrier with a look of keen interest.
Inside the light barrier.
After Yu Zhibo spoke, the clone, holding a table-sized chunk of Zhu Yan’s flesh, walked to Sea Horse and placed it on the ground. Then, it approached Sea Horse and plunged its right hand, covered in Chidori, into Sea Horse’s body.
As it pulled out, blood splattered.
The clone used its mental power to control a mass of blood, placing it on the Zhu Yan flesh, and then placed both palms on either side of the blood, whispering, “I’m starting now!”
As the words fell, Sea Horse’s blood snaked out, transforming into dense chains of runes that rapidly shot towards Sea Horse.
Soon, as the runes meandered outwards, they also formed a massive rune circle beneath Sea Horse’s body. Within the circle, a dark orb flickered once before finally stabilizing.
At this moment, the Zhu Yan flesh and Sea Horse’s body completed a connection.
Subsequently, the clone brought its hands together, fingers intertwined, thumbs overlapping, with the left thumb on top, forming the Snake Seal!
“Snap!”
As the clap sounded, countless pieces of paper-like dust floated up from beneath the ground where Sea Horse was, rapidly enveloping it!
“Roar~”
During the enveloping process, Sea Horse finally broke free from the genjutsu. It looked at what was happening to it in horror and let out a piercing scream. However, under the suppression of Yu Zhibo’s Sharingan and the Impure World Reincarnation ritual, it was unable to move an inch.
Ultimately, its massive body was completely enveloped, finally forming a beast-like shape composed of paper-like fragments, appearing identical to Zhu Yan, but a size smaller, only over two hundred meters tall.
“Is it because Sea Horse’s body is too small?” Yu Zhibo raised an eyebrow, a thoughtful expression on his face.
Meanwhile, the clone made another move!
“Soul, come!”
The clone held its fingers together vertically in front of its body, using the Impure World Reincarnation as a medium to summon the souls of the departed.
Yu Zhibo’s heart stirred. He felt the Samsara Creation Mirror sealed in his left eye tremble slightly, as if the souls within wanted to break free.
With a thought, he released Zhu Yan’s soul.
Upon appearing, Zhu Yan’s soul rapidly merged into the Impure World Reincarnation body, finally taking on its appearance from life. Its body was covered in cracks, and its eyes had sclera that had turned pitch black.
“Boom!”
With Zhu Yan’s appearance, spiritual energy surged within the Pure Land space, and various energies began to flow into Zhu Yan’s new body. Its aura also began to grow rapidly.
“Human, I will kill you!”
Zhu Yan, unable to move its body, glared ferociously at Yu Zhibo, its eyes filled with terrifying killing intent.
“Noisy!”
Yu Zhibo didn’t even glance at it. He casually silenced it, then stroked his chin and pondered:
“As expected, even Impure World Reincarnation cannot escape the law of conservation of energy…”
In the anime, ninjas reincarnated through Impure World Reincarnation possessed infinite chakra and immortality. However, after being modified by the system, Impure World Reincarnation in reality required absorbing energy at the moment the ritual was completed to restore a certain level of strength.
Furthermore, it seemed to have skipped a certain energy conversion process, allowing for immediate acquisition and use.
“But the spiritual energy in this space is very precious; we can’t waste it like this!”
With a thought, Yu Zhibo made his proud clone dissipate. Under Zhu Yan’s furious gaze, he leaped onto its head, standing on the sharp horn on its brow, and then vanished from the spot.
As soon as Zhu Yan appeared in the outside world, it attracted the attention of Lu Renjia’s small squad, who were busy eliminating the remaining sea beasts.
Lu Renjia immediately gasped.
After Zhu Yan appeared, its body seemed to transform into an unfathomable vortex, madly absorbing the external light spiritual energy and the sun’s yang flame power, its aura rapidly growing.
“Everyone, don’t panic, this is a puppet I control!” Yu Zhibo, standing with his hands behind his back on the sharp horn on Zhu Yan’s brow, shouted loudly.
Lu Renjia’s small squad recognized him.
Zhao Si, who had entered A-rank due to Lu Renjia’s gasp, stopped his skill casting upon hearing Yu Zhibo’s voice.
He recognized Yu Zhibo’s identity, but looking at the over two hundred-meter-tall Zhu Yan and its terrifying aura exceeding level twenty, he couldn’t help but shiver.
You call this thing a puppet?
At this moment, Zhu Yan’s eyes were wide with rage, its gaze filled with killing intent. It looked like a ferocious beast ready to devour everything, not a puppet at all.
“You guys go about your business, leave this place alone!”
Yu Zhibo glanced coldly at Zhu Yan, then spat into its wide-open eyes. Instantly, Zhu Yan’s anger caused the horn on its head to turn red, with flames erupting, yet it remained utterly immobile.
The members of Lu Renjia’s squad watched this scene with pounding hearts, fearing that Zhu Yan might accidentally break free and swallow everyone present.
Upon hearing Yu Zhibo’s words, they felt as if they had been granted amnesty. After quickly eliminating the remaining low-level sea beasts, they rushed to other battlefields.
“Its peak strength is probably only level 24. Is this because the Sea Horse used as a medium was too weak?”
Yu Zhibo pondered for a moment, then glanced at Zhu Yan again. The next moment, his palm emitted the sharp cry of Chidori, lightning flashing as it transformed into a light sword. Infused with immortal energy, it fiercely stabbed into Zhu Yan’s vulnerable eyeball and then detonated.
Instantly, Zhu Yan’s entire pupil was blown apart, but soon, paper-like earth fell again, restoring its pupil to completeness.
Seeing this, Yu Zhibo finally felt reassured. Looking at the furious Zhu Yan, he said with some regret, “What a pity, if Impure World Reincarnation also had pain receptors!”
“If you had pain receptors, I would dedicate a clone to tormenting you day and night. You should be grateful you escaped this fate.”
Yu Zhibo’s expression was cold. Standing on Zhu Yan’s head, he glanced at a distant battlefield. His mental power connected with the spirit core within Zhu Yan’s body, issuing an irrefutable command:
“On the battlefield thirty kilometers away, there seems to be a high-tier A-rank beast rampaging. Go and eliminate it, my Zhu Yan dog!”
After issuing the command, he lifted the silence on Zhu Yan.
As soon as the silence was lifted, Zhu Yan roared in fury, “Humble human, how dare you humiliate me like this? I will kill you!”
Zhu Yan was utterly enraged, its fury soaring, almost causing it to spontaneously combust.
However, its body obediently landed on all fours and, like a dog, it uncontrollably ran towards the battlefield Yu Zhibo had indicated.
“Ahhh!”
