Li Se's hand trembled as he held his chopsticks, nearly dropping them onto the table. He looked at Zhang Aimin across from him with disbelief.
Zhang Aimin, however, acted as if nothing had happened, chatting and laughing with Jiang Ranran. Under the table, though, she was far from well-behaved.
Finally, after the meal, Li Se let out a sigh of relief. Widows really knew how to have fun.
After sending Zhang Aimin off, Li Se then took Jiang Ranran home. Their homes weren't far from each other, but it was still several kilometers. He had intended to take a taxi, but Jiang Ranran refused, insisting on walking.
"Did that Sister Zhang just now develop feelings for you?" Jiang Ranran asked, wrinkling her nose.
Li Se quickly denied it, "I don't think so. She's been married before, she probably wouldn't be interested in someone like me."
"That's not necessarily true," Jiang Ranran hummed. "Tell me, did you fall for her? After all, she's so beautiful, you might not be able to resist temptation."
"Ranran, you can't wrong me. I would never do anything to betray you," Li Se said very firmly.
"Alright, I was just teasing you," Jiang Ranran couldn't help but laugh. The smile made her even more beautiful. "I know you're very accomplished now and will attract many women. I don't mind, as long as I can stay by your side for my entire life."
Li Se was touched. He hadn't expected Jiang Ranran to say such a thing, and his heart was filled with emotion.
After walking for over an hour, they arrived at Jiang Ranran's doorstep. She stood on her tiptoes and kissed Li Se on the lips before walking into the residential complex.
After watching Jiang Ranran leave, Li Se prepared to take a taxi home. However, at that moment, his brows furrowed. Two people had appeared before him.
One of them was the young man who had attacked Li Se in the park last time, and the other was older, with gray hair on his head.
"It's him?" the older man asked, frowning.
"Teacher, it's him!" the young man replied.
"Who are you?" Li Se's eyebrows shot up as he sized up the older man. He could feel a different aura emanating from him, indicating he was likely a master.
"You can call me Cang Hai!" the older man said with arrogance. "You must have heard of my name, right?"
"No!" Li Se shook his head.
Cang Hai was displeased and snorted, "Either come with me, or I'll break your legs and take you. Make your choice."
Li Se sneered, "You can try."
"Courting death!" Cang Hai formed his palms into claws and swept them through the air, accompanied by whistling winds. In almost the blink of an eye, he was beside Li Se, his clawed hand reaching out.
*Riiip!*
Li Se had already stepped back in advance, but his clothes were still torn by the attack. Seeing Cang Hai's attack coming again, he punched at the other man's clawed hand!
With a bang, Cang Hai stumbled back two steps. His clawed hand hurt a little. After all, his opponent had used a fist, and the force was not small at all.
"You've got something!" Cang Hai sneered, leaping into the air. His claws repeatedly slashed through the air, making crackling sounds.
Li Se smirked and picked up a brick from the ground, throwing it at him.
*Bang!*
"Ah!" Cang Hai cried out in pain. Even with his strength, his clawed hand against a brick was difficult to bear.
Before he could react, Li Se took a step forward and landed a heavy uppercut on his chin.
*Crack!*
The sound of breaking bone was extremely sharp.
Cang Hai flew back like a kite with a broken string.
The young man was stunned. He had thought that his teacher's intervention would surely resolve the issue, but he had still failed.
"I won't kill you, but deliver a message to the Hong family," Li Se said, his hands behind his back, his eyes filled with coldness. "If you want me to treat Hong Zhixue, it's not impossible. Prepare one hundred million."
After saying this, Li Se left.
"Teacher, should we deliver this message to the Hong family?" the young man asked hesitantly.
Cang Hai couldn't speak. After a long period of grunts, he was eventually sent to the hospital by the young man. He could only make his way to the Hong family alone.
"Useless, all useless!" Hong Tai was furious. Looking at his son's suffering, he felt he could no longer bear it. "One hundred million?"
"That's what he said," the young man nodded.
"Fine, I'll give him one hundred million. Tell him to come to this hospital. If he can cure my son, I'll give him one hundred million!" Hong Tai said through gritted teeth.
"Tai, are you really going to give him a hundred million?" Chen Huihong was clearly unhappy, as her son's illness was caused by Li Se.
Hong Tai said grimly, "Give him a hundred million, but we'll see if he has the life to spend it!"
The next morning, Li Se received a call from Qiao Guohua, inviting him to a meal. Since he had nothing else to do, he agreed, and it would also be an opportunity to see Old Qiao.
At noon, Li Se arrived at the Qiao family's manor. As soon as he entered, he saw a very beautiful girl, around twenty years old. Her skin was like snow, and her eyes were like clear spring water. When she looked around, she possessed an elegant and noble aura that was captivating, making one feel inferior and afraid to offend. However, her proud and spirited demeanor was utterly enchanting.
"What are you looking at!" Qiao Weiwei said, her delicate brows furrowing slightly, clearly displeased, noticing Li Se's gaze.
Well, she's a feisty one.
Li Se was a bit speechless. He rubbed his nose and walked forward, offering an apologetic smile, "You're so beautiful, I was momentarily lost in thought."
Qiao Weiwei looked at the rather handsome young man before her with surprise. She rarely heard anyone speak so directly. Usually, those caught sneaking glances at her would vehemently deny it and try to mask their gentlemanly demeanor. This one, however, simply admitted it. She let out a hum, "Since you're telling the truth, I won't hold it against you. Why are you here?"
"This is your home?" Li Se was taken aback. "Then Old Qiao is yours?"
"My grandfather!" Qiao Weiwei said.
Li Se's expression became somewhat strange. When he treated Old Qiao last time, the old man had been boasting about calling his granddaughter to Qingyun City. It had only been a few days, and he had actually called her. Could it be that he wanted to introduce her to him? He sized up Qiao Weiwei. Yes, she was quite pretty, and her looks were good.
"What is that look in your eyes?" Qiao Weiwei's delicate brows rose. "Keep looking like that, and I'll gouge your eyes out."
"Misunderstanding, misunderstanding," Li Se quickly laughed it off. "I'm a doctor. I was just observing the young lady's physical condition. However..."
He paused, frowning. "It seems to be not very optimistic."
