Chapter 134: First Class And Challenge (Part 4)

Following behind Azrael, Luo Bingqing also entered the building.

After glancing at Azrael, who had gone over to Felix, he approached a group of three people—two men and one woman

When the group of three noticed him, they all smiled and nodded in greeting.

"You are exactly on time as always. Neither too early nor too late," Said a tall man with short black hair, a robust build, and a muscular frame, chuckling as he spoke.

"After receiving the professor’s message, I bet he must have been sitting on his sofa like an ice block the whole time, watching the clock and waiting until there were exactly ten minutes left before coming," The second man added. He stood about 1.8 meters tall, had light blue hair, blue eyes, slightly tanned skin, and a calm expression.

The woman glanced at Luo Bingqing, thought about his personality, and nodded in agreement with her companions.

The woman had a neat bob cut of brown hair, tanned skin, and blue eyes. Standing at only 165 centimeters tall, she appeared rather small among the group.

Luo Bingqing’s mouth twitched at their words, but he couldn’t even deny them, because in truth, he had been doing exactly as they described, waiting patiently, watching the time, and only leaving when there were ten minutes remaining.

"Instead of thinking about what I was doing, you might as well do something useful—like cultivating your source core or practicing a skill," He said in a slightly helpless tone.

"You speak as if we are always slacking off. It’s the first day of the academy. You need to learn how to relax," Replied Xavier, the tall man with the muscular build. "All of us are in the top ten. It’s not like we will drop out of it just because we didn’t practice for a day."

Richard and Hazel, the other two nodded in agreement with Xavier’s words.

Luo Bingqing simply shook his head and didn’t argue further. Then, as if remembering something, he lowered his voice and said.

"By the way, on my way here, I saw the person living in the first mansion."

Xavier and the others immediately showed surprised expressions, though their surprise quickly shifted into curiosity about the current rank-one student in their Elite Class.

"Who is it?" Hazel asked urgently.

Luo Bingqing glanced around the room, and after spotting Azrael standing with Felix, he gestured toward him.

"That guy— the one with black hair."

Xavier and the others looked toward Azrael with curiosity, but their expressions soon shifted into puzzlement.

"Why can’t I sense his level?" Richard asked in confusion.

Xavier and Hazel were equally perplexed, but their faces soon grew more serious.

"Could it be that he is already close to the peak of Class Level, around Level 25—and that’s why we can’t sense his level?" Xavier said uncertainly, though even he found it hard to believe.

Just then, Azrael turned to look at them and after a casual glance, he shifted his gaze away.

"His senses are sharp," Luo Bingqing remarked, noting how Azrael had picked up on their stares. He paused before continuing in a serious tone,

"I don’t think he is anywhere near Level 25. The reason we can’t sense his level is either because he has practiced a concealment skill or..." He trailed off before adding firmly, "His control over cosmic energy has reached the point where he can completely suppress his aura without letting even a trace leak out."

Xavier and the others considered his words and nodded, finding the explanation plausible. After all, reaching close to Level 25 in such a short time was far from easy.

Following the Eonrift Trial, a person not only needed to cultivate their source core, but also train in useful skills, improve their control over cosmic energy, and spend time locating primary energy veins to learn the Breathing Method.

With all these demands, rapidly raising one’s level was no simple task.

"By the way, I heard from my brother that the second rank this time is actually an elf who came here through the exchange program," Hazel suddenly said.

Luo Bingqing and the others looked at her expectantly, waiting for her to elaborate.

"You must have heard about the exchange program with the elves, right?"

Xavier and the others nodded at her words as the news about this matter had been made public yesterday, and anyone paying even a little attention to current events would have heard about it.

"I am not sure if it’s true, but my brother told me the person who took second place this time is one of the elves who came here. As for first and third..." She glanced toward Azrael, then shifted her gaze to Luo Bingqing.

The group fell silent at Hazel’s words. All four of them were strong class warriors among their peers and each aimed to climb the rankings for better positions.

After all, the higher your rank in Slayers Academy, the greater the benefits you received—especially the first rank, who enjoyed nearly all the basic facilities in their mansion without having to spend academic credits.

The second and third ranks also had certain facilities, but they were inferior compared to those in the first mansion. In fact, the second mansion lacked a spirit room entirely, while the third mansion had neither a spirit room nor an enlightenment room.

"The professor called us here to see how we use our abilities," Luo Bingqing said softly.

"Sparring against each other is the best way to do that, which means..." He lowered his voice slightly, "...We will be able to see just how strong everyone is, and how much we need to improve to take the higher ranks."

Xavier and the others nodded at his reasoning and continued their conversation.

A few minutes later, when the appointed time arrived, the four of them heard footsteps approaching from outside.

Turning their heads, they saw Professor Ronald finally entering the building, accompanied by five elves walking behind him.
