Chapter 880: Chapter 880: [Extra] Let’s Get a Cat, Shall We?
When An’an woke up in the morning, Xu Weiran had already prepared breakfast.
School registration was in the afternoon, so Sheng Ning’an wasn’t in a hurry to go.
The two of them leisurely finished breakfast and even went to the supermarket together.
Seeing him pushing the cart to the fresh produce section, Sheng Ning’an asked, "Aren’t you going to the research institute today?"
"No, I took time off to be with you. What do you want for lunch?" Xu Weiran asked while placing the chosen fruits in the cart, looking up at Sheng Ning’an beside him.
"Whatever you cook, I’ll eat." Being someone who doesn’t cook, she didn’t have a say. Living together, Sheng Ning’an couldn’t consistently demand that he cater to her preferences.
"Then I’ll make a stew and fry a couple of vegetables," Xu Weiran said as he walked to the meat section, picked a box of premium ribs, and then went over to the vegetable section to buy some greens.
Of course, all of which Sheng Ning’an liked.
Leaving the supermarket and heading to the parking lot, Xu Weiran carried a large shopping bag in one hand and held Sheng Ning’an with the other.
On the way, they passed a young girl carrying a cat bag. Sheng Ning’an was drawn to the soft, cute head peeking out from the bag and tugged at the hand linked with Xu Weiran’s, saying, "Xu Weiran, let’s get a cat too?"
Xu Weiran followed her gaze, didn’t oppose the idea, but asked, "Are you sure?"
He didn’t object, but he remembered her cleanliness obsession.
Is she really ready to live with a cat?
Apparently, Sheng Ning’an thought of it too.
"Maybe not, I’ve heard cats shed a lot," she said, hesitating at the thought of dealing with cat hair daily.
Yet her eyes lingered longingly in the direction the girl departed.
It was evident she truly liked cats.
In the afternoon, Sheng Ning’an went to school.
After collecting her textbooks, Tian Yu stopped her and asked, "An’an, are you busy this afternoon? Would you like to come to the dorm with us for a bit?"
Their dorm had suddenly lost two people. It was said that the school would soon arrange two new roommates for them, but they hadn’t seen the new roommates and didn’t know if they’d get along well.
"Xu Weiran is still waiting for me downstairs," Sheng Ning’an explained.
"I see. When you have time, come by the dorm. We brought you some specialties from home," Tian Yu smiled and said.
Xue Xian nodded in agreement beside her.
"Alright! I’ll come find you guys later," Sheng Ning’an replied.
The three parted ways, with Tian Yu and Xue Xian heading back to the dorm, while Sheng Ning’an went to find Xu Weiran.
Xu Weiran was waiting for her in the car.
Sheng Ning’an placed the textbooks on the back seat, then returned to the front passenger seat. As she fastened her seatbelt, she asked, "Where are we going now?"
"To buy a cat!" Xu Weiran said.
Sheng Ning’an looked at him in surprise, "Weren’t we not going to get one?"
Xu Weiran replied, "You like them, so we’re getting one."
She wasn’t asking for the moon, just wanted a cat—a request he felt could certainly be fulfilled.
"But what about the cat hair?" Sheng Ning’an had only mentioned it casually. She liked cats, but worried she couldn’t handle the hair every day.
"Don’t worry, I’ve found a solution. Just pick the cat you like, and I’ll handle the rest," he assured her confidently. Sheng Ning’an started to believe him a bit.
She trusted he could really handle the cat hair problem.
The two of them then went to the pet shop. As soon as Sheng Ning’an walked in, she was captivated by the various cats and dogs, eventually choosing a ragdoll kitten.
