Chapter 760: Chapter 760 [Extra] Your Calculations Are Too Shrewd

Shi Yue returned to the private room, and although she was in a bad mood, she maintained a smile on her face for everyone, speaking in a gentle manner, “Alright, let’s all continue eating!”

Although she put on an unaffected appearance, everyone could still tell she was unhappy from her face.

For a moment, the atmosphere became somewhat stiff.

Tian Yu sensed that something was off and hurriedly brought out the gift they had prepared in advance, saying, “Right, Yueyue, the three of us from our dorm put together a gift for you.”

“Thank you!” Shi Yue took it but did not open it.

She had absolutely no interest in opening gifts at the moment.

Especially since the gift included a portion from Sheng Ning’an, she felt like throwing it away on the spot.

Seeing this, the others also took out the gifts they had prepared.

Only then did the atmosphere warm up again.

Meanwhile, Sheng Ning’an left the restaurant and went straight to Xu Weiran’s place by taxi.

When Xu Weiran opened the door and saw it was her, he couldn’t help but be surprised, “Weren’t you going to celebrate your roommate’s birthday?” After speaking, he stepped aside to let her in.

“Yeah, but I wasn’t having a good time, so I came back,” Sheng Ning’an replied while taking off her shoes.

“Have you eaten?” Xu Weiran asked.

Sheng Ning’an shook her head, “Not yet!” Had she known, she wouldn’t have agreed to go; neither did she get to eat nor did it spare her the displeasure.

Some people, indeed, are better kept at a distance.

“Just as well, I ordered takeout; let’s eat together!” Xu Weiran said gently.

Sheng Ning’an followed him into the house and saw that the dining table was set with takeout containers, which seemed to have just been opened.

“Looks like I came back just in time,” said Sheng Ning’an as she went to the bathroom to wash her hands.

Xu Weiran then fetched another set of bowls and chopsticks from the kitchen.

There were two dishes and a soup on the table, just enough for the two of them.

After finishing their meal, Sheng Ning’an took the initiative to clean up the table while Xu Weiran went to the living room to make tea.

By the time Sheng Ning’an had put away the dishes, cleaned the table, and taken care of the trash,

the living room was already filled with the fragrance of tea.

Xu Weiran poured a cup of tea for Sheng Ning’an first and handed it to her, then poured one for himself before finally speaking, “Tell me, what actually happened?”

“It’s nothing,” Sheng Ning’an didn’t want to talk about it.

Xu Weiran raised an eyebrow, “It’s ‘nothing’ that can make our Princess so upset that she’d leave without eating her meal?”

“Really, it’s nothing.”

“Alright then, if you don’t want to talk about it, let’s leave it,” seeing that she truly didn’t want to discuss it, Xu Weiran didn’t press further and pointed to the tea in front of her, “Try the new tea I just got.”

Sheng Yan Cheng liked drinking tea, and Sheng Ning’an often accompanied her grandpa at home, so she had a fair understanding of tea.

She could taste the difference as soon as the tea touched her lips, “This is Dragon Well tea from West Lake, isn’t it? Moreover, it’s pre-Qingming tea. But I heard that the genuine ones aren’t easy to come by in the market; where did you buy this?”

“A friend sent me two boxes; I’ve already kept one aside for you. You can take it home next time for your grandpa to try. This, however, is last year’s tea; this year’s new batch hasn’t hit the market yet. Make do with this for now, and I’ll look for some even better tea leaves for Grandpa later,” he replied.

“Then I’ll thank you on behalf of my grandpa,” Sheng Ning’an didn’t stand on ceremony with him.

Knowing that Grandpa liked tea, this gift would surely make the old man happy.

Xu Weiran smiled and said, “You don’t have to thank me. When the day comes for me to marry his granddaughter, as long as he can confidently leave her in my care, that will be enough.”

Sheng Ning’an raised an eyebrow, “You think a box of tea leaves can make a trade for his treasured granddaughter? You’re really calculating quite finely, aren’t you?”
