Fortunately, this human girl wasn't too perplexed and picked up her chopsticks, starting to eat. He felt extremely uneasy in his heart, praying that the dishes were normal.
As Qiao Ci ate her shrimp dumplings, her eyes narrowed. Before long, she had swept away all the food on the table.
When she was about to leave after paying the bill, the waiter nervously approached again.
"Miss, please wait a moment."
Qiao Ci looked at him, puzzled.
The waiter scratched his head, seemingly a bit embarrassed. "May I ask, Miss, what are your thoughts on our restaurant's new dishes? For example, are there any aspects of the taste that need improvement?"
Qiao Ci actually appeared to be contemplating. After a while, she said, "The portions are a bit large. Everything else is quite good."
"Alright, Miss, please take care. We welcome you to visit again." The waiter respectfully saw Qiao Ci off.
Turning back, he dejectedly relayed her words verbatim to the several masked men in black.
After hearing this, the men threw a bag of demonic coins at him and menacingly said, "You've never seen us before, understand?"
"Little one understands. Little one saw nothing."
Upon returning to the demonic palace, the several guardians were met by Chong Han, who glanced at them. His voice was clear and pleasant as he asked, "She ate it?"
The Great Guardian stepped forward and replied, "She ate it."
Chong Han gestured for him to continue.
The Great Guardian, not being eloquent, continued after a pause, "She ate all the food and said that apart from the portions being a bit large, the taste was fine."
Upon hearing this, Chong Han's expression became slightly proud. He could create the same delicacies that humans could. Now that woman would have nothing to say.
"And then?" he asked.
The Great Guardian looked at him blankly. "And then what?"
Chong Han, infuriated by his blank stare, kicked him. "And then what? Of course, what else did she comment on!"
"N-nothing else," the Great Guardian was even more bewildered, wondering why he was kicked.
Chong Han's face turned cold. "You may withdraw."
After they withdrew, he entered a side hall, where he had transformed it into a kitchen. All sorts of pots, pans, and utensils were present, and a soup was simmering over a small fire.
He walked to a nearby seat and sat down, picking up the "Culinary God's Recipe" from the chopping board and reading it diligently, muttering to himself, "What should I make for lunch..."
Qiao Ci returned to the restaurant at noon. She didn't even need to order; the waiter gave her a knowing look and went to the kitchen to bring out the dishes.
Seeing the food that was both visually appealing and fragrant, Qiao Ci's appetite was whetted, and she ate quite a lot.
In the evening, it was the same.
The several guardians were very perplexed. Were these dishes among the stolen ingredients they had brought? It seemed not.
They couldn't imagine that their noble Demonic Lord had personally cooked them with the ingredients they had brought back, thinking it was just their poor memory.
The next day, the third day, the fourth day, it was like this every day. The food for that human girl was never repeated, and the several guardians fell silent.
They exchanged glances, each having the same thought: Could it be that these fresh meals were all personally prepared by the Demonic Lord?
Once again, they received exquisite food boxes from the Demonic Lord. All of them looked at him speechlessly, finding it hard to believe that their noble Demonic Lord would wash his hands and cook.
The Second Guardian, being straightforward, blurted out, "Your Demonic Lordship, did you personally make this?"
The others all looked at him as if he were an idiot, pitying him in their hearts.
As expected,
The Demonic Lord's face immediately darkened. He cast a condescending glance at him. "Is this something you should ask?"
The Second Guardian realized he had spoken out of turn and instantly regretted it. He slapped himself and nimbly knelt on the ground. "Your Demonic Lordship, forgive me. It's my fault for having too much to say. I will never dare to do it again!"
Chong Han didn't even spare him an extra glance. His face was cold, but his words were astonishing. "Hurry up and deliver the meal to her. The food will get cold and affect the taste."
"Yes, yes, yes."
"Oh, and you, personally, cough cough, serve the dishes."
After a moment, the Demonic Lord spoke again, seemingly with some awkwardness.
"Yes, yes, yes."
As they replied, they turned and left. The sight of several men in black robes, looking fierce, cautiously escorting a food box was incredibly bizarre. kuAiδugg
After all,
This was food personally prepared by the Demonic Lord. If it were dropped or spilled, they couldn't afford to compensate for it!
Qiao Ci continued to come to this restaurant to eat. Although she knew the food was made by Chong Han, she didn't expose it and didn't mind the travel. As soon as it was mealtime, she would come to feast!
However, this time, it wasn't the waiter serving the dishes, but several men in black robes. Qiao Ci recognized them as Chong Han's guardians.
What? Were they planning to reveal themselves?
Qiao Ci found it somewhat amusing. The men were looking at her with novel expressions, as if she were some kind of mutant.
Qiao Ci was completely unfazed. She quietly finished her meal and, as usual, left some demonic coins.
The guardians looked at each other, completely bewildered about what was happening.
Did she not recognize them, or what? Why was she reacting so normally?
Perhaps they had wrapped themselves up too well?
They had been watching her eat without blinking, trying to observe her subtle expressions. Yet, she acted as if nothing were amiss. How were they supposed to report back?
Unsurprisingly, upon returning to the demonic palace, they were questioned about their observations.
Everyone took a step back, revealing the Second Guardian. Chong Han raised an eyebrow. "Second Guardian, you speak."
The Second Guardian frowned deeply. "There were no extraneous expressions. She was just a bit quieter, more elegant, and more beautiful than us men when we eat?"
"She didn't praise the food?" Chong Han also frowned.
The Second Guardian honestly replied, "No, it was like eating everyday meals."
Chong Han's aura immediately sank. He couldn't help but doubt himself. Could it be that she didn't fancy him, and he had been self-indulgent all along?
Thinking of this, he felt utterly dispirited. The guardians exchanged glances and retreated, not wanting to court disaster.
The more he thought about it, the more he felt that she indeed didn't like him. Otherwise, ten days had passed, and they were so close, why hadn't she ever come to find him?
He felt a slight sense of frustration. As the sky began to darken, he looked in the direction of the palace where Qiao Ci was staying and made a decision.
Young ladies were usually shy and reserved. Had his rejection been too obvious, hurting Qiao Ci's feelings, making her afraid to approach him?
Then, he would create an opportunity for her.
He refused to believe she was indifferent to him!
Learning that she was resting in the pavilion in front of the palace, Chong Han put on his most graceful and luxurious robes, which accentuated his agile physique, and leisurely walked towards it.
Seeing Qiao Ci leaning against the pavilion, admiring the moonlight, he straightened his back and walked past her without looking sideways.
The expected gasp of surprise did not occur. He subtly looked back; Qiao Ci hadn't moved at all, still gazing at the moonlight in the sky.
