Chapter 47 Invitation to the Resort Hotel

The next morning, the alarm clock rang at six.

“Chen Ziming, if you don’t turn off this alarm, I’m never sleeping with you again!” Su Yue was angry and threw her pillow at the man who had already gotten up.

Like a startled cat.

It was the first time he saw her like this, and the first time she called him by his name.

He smiled, picked up the pillow and put it down, patted her through the quilt, and went to wash up and for his morning run.

When he returned, Su Yue was searching her phone for a gentle alarm waking method. It was unrealistic to expect Chen Ziming to do without an alarm, and she couldn’t really stop sleeping with him.

Annoying.

He placed breakfast on the table. Today’s fare was xiaolongbao and seaweed egg drop soup, which smelled very fragrant.

“Eat, I’ll take you back to school later.” He glanced at her phone screen and smiled helplessly.

“Mm.” She ate while looking at her phone.

Downstairs from the dormitory building.

“Officer Chen, you really can’t come find me today. I need to prepare for my final exams, and we have a thesis paper. The teachers will assign tasks more focusedly these two days,” she said seriously, looking at him.

“Okay, see you on the weekend.” He also answered seriously, not forgetting to arrange the time in advance.

“Mm, bye~” She waved goodbye to him obediently and got out of the car.

What followed was the busy period of finals.

After attending the last class today, the semester would conclude. Su Yue had already secured a seat in the study room early, preparing to pore over her books there.

She usually listened attentively in class and found reviewing not difficult, but she strived for the best, so she put in extra effort.

She also updated her social media less frequently. Her fans knew she had exams, so they didn’t mind. She temporarily postponed some advertising collaborations that had approached her.

Saturday arrived, and she didn’t see any messages from Chen Ziming. So, she happily went to the study room early to review.

Around nine o’clock, Ji Chan, a photographer she often collaborated with, called her.

“What’s up, Chan Chan?” she asked, sneaking out to the hallway.

“A resort hotel just opened in the suburbs of Beijing, and they want me to bring a favorite influencer for a photoshoot to promote it. I immediately thought of you, want to go, sis? Free suite stay, super VIP dining, and lots of fun activities.”

She grinned mischievously and said, “Of course, and there’s a considerable remuneration. The initial price is fifty thousand, and if the response is good, it can be increased. Tempted?”

She was certainly tempted and agreed immediately.

“But I have final exams now, can we postpone it until after the exams?” she ventured.

If not, even delaying it for a day or two would be acceptable, as she couldn’t possibly refuse money.

“I’ve already thought of it. The hotel booking is for mid-July. After you finish your exams, tell me, and we’ll go directly, no need to reschedule again.”

Su Yue happily said goodbye to Ji Chan.

Before entering the study room, she glanced at her phone again. Chen Ziming still had no messages, and she felt a slight unease in her heart.

She disliked this feeling of anxious uncertainty. So, she simply set her phone to silent mode and placed it in the phone organizer by the door, to concentrate more on her studies.

It wasn’t until one in the afternoon that she finally felt drowsy and hungry. Only then did she put away her books and leave the study room.

She picked up her phone, and there were still no messages from Chen Ziming, only scattered other notifications.

What… did this mean?

She still couldn’t help it and called him.

“Hello.” The call was answered quickly, and his slightly hoarse voice came through.

“It’s me.” she said with a hint of dejection.

“I know.”

Su Yue felt a bit speechless, sensing he wasn’t very keen on continuing the conversation. Who knew what had happened on his end, but she knew that a girl shouldn’t panic at a time like this. If she rushed to lower her stance, men would only become more demanding.

Be a bit tougher, and then think of other ways to lure him back…

With that thought, she said, “Officer Chen must be quite tired. Rest well, I’m hanging up.”

Without giving him a chance to speak, she hung up directly and walked towards her dormitory.
