Chapter 108 Are You a Mimic?

As she entered the house, Su Yue dejectedly kicked off her shoes and went straight to the bedroom to wash up, without looking back.

A smile played on the man's face as he didn't stop her. He neatly arranged her shoes, changed into his own, and followed her in.

As Su Yue was brushing her teeth, he walked in and stopped behind her.

He reached out his long arm and took his toothbrush.

She frowned.

Just keep acting out here!

He insisted on holding her while she brushed her teeth.

If not for his last remark, she would have felt very shy and flustered right now.

After spitting out the mouthwash, she placed her cup down.

With a bang, full of force.

"Move aside, I need to wash my face."

With one arm around her waist, Su Yue tried to reach for the facial cleanser but couldn't.

Chen Ziming rinsed his toothbrush under the faucet, then tossed it into Su Yue's cup before picking up his own water cup to rinse his mouth.

Then he reached out and handed her the facial cleanser.

In her mind, she rolled her eyes so hard.

Seeing her lathering up with the facial cleanser, he picked up his own.

And followed suit with washing his face.

"Chen Ziming, are you an imitation artist?" She was almost amused to the point of exasperation.

He was nowhere near the dignified demeanor of a police officer.

So childish.

He chuckled inwardly, not replying, and continued to scrub his handsome face.

Finally finished washing and changing clothes.

Su Yue was a bit slower with her skincare routine. By the time she came out, he was already sitting on the edge of the bed.

He was wearing a blue-gray silk pajama set with buttons and shorts.

"Sweetheart, come here." Seeing her emerge, he smiled and extended a hand towards her.

Su Yue snorted softly and walked over...

Casually sidestepping his outstretched hand, she climbed onto the bed and sat down.

"Sitting up straight," he observed her posture with a playful glint in his eyes, asking, "Do you have something else to tell me?"

"I know you have eight thousand schemes in mind, no need to show off." She picked up a pillow and hugged it to her chest, somewhat guarded.

He remained silent, tilting his chin slightly, waiting for her to speak.

"Two things." Su Yue thought for a moment before speaking.

"This morning, the lady who cooks said that your grandmother asked her to bring a lot of good things for me to eat. Did you know about this?"

She had been pondering this matter while doing her skincare inside.

Feeling a sense of unease, she felt compelled to ask him.

A flicker of surprise crossed his face. He lowered his gaze, thought for a moment, and replied, "No."

His expression became much more serious.

"Then how did your grandmother find out about me?" Seeing him like this, she felt a little nervous.

Could she have sent people to monitor her? It wasn't out of the question, as wealthy families often did such things.

"Are you so afraid of my family knowing about your existence?"

Not a single subtle expression escaped his eyes.

The man narrowed his eyes and glanced at her sideways.

Trying to decipher her thoughts.

His demeanor put her under considerable pressure.

Su Yue unconsciously lowered her head, slightly afraid to meet his gaze. Her confidence plummeted, and her voice dropped significantly:

"It's not that... but after all, we haven't known each other for very long... you know... and besides..."

"And you're not my girlfriend yet."

He directly finished the sentence she was about to say.

Her thoughts having been so accurately guessed, she felt a wave of panic.

Although he had given her time to consider, he seemed to dislike hearing her say that.

She buried her head lower, unsure of how to respond.

Seeing this, Chen Ziming didn't press her further. His voice returned to its previous gentle tone as he said,

"Perhaps the maids mentioned it. I had instructed them, but they might not have paid attention. Tomorrow, I'll call my grandmother and ask her to be more mindful."

"Others might also find out, but until you're ready, I won't let them disturb you."

"Is that okay?"

He deliberately slowed his speech, and her mood gradually calmed with his steady voice.

However, she definitely couldn't let him call his grandmother to persuade her!

That would be very impolite...

So she quickly looked up and replied,

"There's no need to call your grandmother, that would be too disrespectful. I'm fine, I'm just... a little scared."

"Scared of what?" He also got onto the bed, sitting cross-legged in front of her just as she was.

He leaned down, pressing his forehead against hers.

With his large hands, he gently held her fair hand in his palm.

Patiently waiting for her answer.
