Regretful Lovelife

Chapter 493 - Enter The Scene

In midair, the roars of the Jade Beast grew weaker and its resistance noticeably lessened. Its entire body had been stained ink-black with its own blood.

Seeing that the Jade Beast was barely clinging to life, the Seven Sons of the Sky Blade dragged it with the chains and brought it to the deck of the ship. The passengers all stopped and watched from a distance.

“So this is a Jade Beast?” someone whispered.

“Master,” the Seven Sons called out, all a bit excited. This was their first time slaying a Jade Beast.

“The vitality of Jade Beasts is incredibly strong. Even though it looks near death now, if we don’t suppress it, it will recover quickly.” The one-armed elder ordered, “You all keep watch over it. Once we reach the Eastern Continent, it won’t be as powerful on land.”

After the incident with the Jade Beast ended, the ship continued safely toward the Eastern Continent. Xu Zimo could already make out its outline in the distance. From afar, Dragon City appeared faintly visible, and the giant Dragon God seemed to be coiled upon the land.

At dawn, the violet sun rose into the sky from the east. The dock of the Eastern Continent came into full view, with hundreds of ships lined up in the water.

After the long journey, many passengers came to the deck, gazing at the Eastern Continent within sight.

But at that moment, a roar rang out from the rear of the ship. A massive tidal wave surged forth, crashing down unexpectedly.

The wave rose into the sky, catching everyone off guard. The masts and sails were shattered instantly, and the cabins flooded in multiple spots. Some people were even thrown directly into the sea.

The wave's force was terrifying. Chen Tianyi reacted quickly. Seeing the towering wave about to crash down, he drew his sword and slashed at it.

With a loud boom, the wave split apart in midair, spraying water everywhere. But the immense force of the wave sent Chen Tianyi flying.

With a heavy thud, he slammed into the side of the deck, his back bloodied and mangled. The girl in the purple dress, Ning Caidie, rushed over and quickly helped him up.

“Chen, are you alright?” she asked, concerned.

“I’m fine. You should get to safety with the others,” Chen Tianyi waved her off, staring ahead grimly.

After the wave subsided, the sea churned in fury like a raging beast. Wave after wave rolled in, and beneath them, a massive black shadow began to surface.

The one-armed elder’s face turned pale when he saw it. He whispered, “Another Jade Beast.”

Everyone, whether the Seven Sons or the passengers, stood in stunned silence. Not only was there more than one Jade Beast, but this new one was far larger.

It was nearly a thousand meters tall, like a small city in size. Its aura was far more oppressive, and the storms and waves around it roared violently.

To it, the ship seemed like nothing more than a drifting leaf on the sea. Tossed in the massive waves, the ship floated like a helpless ant.

“A Jade Beast at the God Meridian Realm,” the elder finally spoke after observing it closely. His long hair, soaked by the sea, clung to his face as he stood on the water.

He tried to draw his Bloodthirsty Blade again, but the last battle had taken too much out of him. His injuries wouldn’t allow him to fight anymore.

Seeing the new Jade Beast appear, the Seven Sons of the Sky Blade exchanged glances and stepped forward once more. Their auras surged, and the iron chains glowed with that dark gray light again, flying toward the Jade Beast.

The phantom shadows on the chains roared, but this new Jade Beast merely glanced at them with contempt. With a sweep of its wings, it raised a colossal wave that shattered all seven phantoms.

Even the chains were torn apart and destroyed by the sea. The Seven Sons spat out blood, wounded by the destruction of their spiritual tools.

Faced with this overwhelming power, despair swept across the passengers.

“I told you, we shouldn’t have come. Now we’re all going to die here,” muttered Jin Haizhou, the head of the Jin Clan, pacing in panic.

“You were the one who said coming would improve relations with the Sky Blade Sect,” Jin Qizhao replied calmly.

Elsewhere, the maid Little Ying asked anxiously, “Miss, what do we do?”

Ning Caidie sighed lightly and said, “I didn’t die in the empire’s war, but now I’ll be buried at sea.

Maybe this is fate.”

“Help us!” some passengers shouted desperately toward the dock of the Eastern Continent. But it was futile.

The Jade Beast surrounded the ship with raging storms, there was no escape. Anyone who jumped off would be torn apart instantly.

The monstrous beast hovered above, looking down emotionlessly at everyone. Then, shockingly, it spoke.

“You killed beasts of my Jade Race and forged them into chains. No matter who you are, you all deserve to be torn limb from limb.”

“I’ve killed enough of your kind in this life. I don’t care anymore. I only regret not being able to kill you too,” the one-armed elder said calmly.

The Jade Beast was enraged, roaring to the sky. It raised its wings and slammed down a wave big enough to swallow the ship whole.

At that moment, a blade light suddenly flashed. The massive waves were shattered completely, and the blade light soared into the clouds, seemingly slicing the sky apart.

“Who is it?” the Jade Beast growled, glaring at the ship.

“Big guy, can we talk?” Xu Zimo stood up from his recliner, yawning and stretching. “I’m in a hurry to get home. Can you let me go first? You guys can settle your score after we dock?”

Everyone stared at Xu Zimo in disbelief.

“Is this guy crazy? At a time like this, he dares to talk like that?”

Someone mumbled.

“Ant, you seek death!” the Jade Beast roared and slammed its wing down in fury. The sky filled with waves as they crashed toward him.

“Sigh, what a pain.”

Xu Zimo sighed. At that moment, sharp blade energy rose from his body.

Shadow Tyrant unsheathed.

He stepped into the air, each footfall shattering the space beneath him.

His aura at the God Meridian Realm spread like a storm.

Northern winds howled. Clouds churned. Towering waves rose.

The space beneath him cracked with each step, and the blade intent from Shadow Tyrant split half the sky in two.
