Chapter 102 Arrogant Confidence

Wang Fu snorted coldly and said dismissively, "They are here for training, not disciples of our sect. Even if they were, not just anyone can run amok here. This is the territory of the Cui, Wang, and Xie families; outsiders are not allowed to interfere."

Mo Qi also snorted, "I am nobody, and have no affiliation with anyone. So what?"

Wang Fu glared at him fiercely, "Then I apologize, but please leave Lexi City immediately and stop selling your pills in our town. You are severely impacting my family's pill business."

"Ridiculous," Mo Qi chuckled, "I affect your business, so you want me to leave. If a fly buzzes incessantly in my ear and disturbs my rest, should I swat it to death?"

His twisted logic immediately drew a burst of laughter.

The crowd had witnessed Mo Qi subdue the usually arrogant and overbearing Xie Yuxian. They wondered if the owner of Mo's Pill Shop had a deeper background, otherwise, how would he dare to brazenly oppose two major families?

Wang Fu's face flushed with embarrassment. He roared and made a move as if to pounce.

Mo Qi immediately held up his hand to signal a halt, "Wait, if you want to fight, let's fight outside."

Wang Fu disagreed, believing that fighting inside would achieve his objective, and besides, he wasn't there to fight but to cause trouble. "Right here..." he began.

Before he could finish, a white blur suddenly slammed into him. His body involuntarily floated upwards, soaring over the heads of the queuing people, and landed outside the door.

Just as he had dealt with Xie Yuxian, Mo Qi gave him no chance to recover, launching into a flurry of punches and kicks. Wang Fu wailed in pain, and his followers could not get close. They felt as if there was a circle around the entangled pair, an invisible wall preventing them from entering.

A moment later, Wang Fu was also bruised and battered, covered in injuries. However, Wang Fu was tough and refused to beg for mercy. Mo Qi had no choice but to continue. At first, Wang Fu cried out incessantly, but later he fell silent, his body becoming like a puddle of mud, collapsing into a heap.

The onlookers realized the gravity of the situation and began to urge, "Stop hitting him, you'll kill him if you continue."

Mo Qi also realized he couldn't go on and ceased his attack. He reached out and felt Wang Fu's nose, finding his breath faint. If he didn't act quickly, it would be too late.

A person standing nearby, seeing Wang Fu's stiff and pale appearance, screamed in terror, "He's dead, he's dead!" and then fled in fright. Some others followed him for a short distance before turning back to watch the events from afar.

A bolder group, hearing that someone was dead, eagerly pushed forward, appearing extremely anxious, "Is he completely dead? Let me see, let me see. If he's not dead yet, remember to finish him off."

Wang Fu's three followers turned pale with fright and scrambled back to report.

Mo Qi hastily took out a Life-Restoring Pill and a Healing Pill from his storage bag and forced them into Wang Fu's mouth. At this moment, Wu Siqi, Jin Yan, and Shui Ling heard that someone was dead. They all put down their work and came out of the house, their eyes filled with worry as they stared intently at Wang Fu.

A moment later, Wang Fu grunted, exhaled a turbid breath, and slowly opened his eyes. The injuries on his body and face began to recede at a visible rate.

A collective sigh of relief swept through the crowd, accompanied by murmurs of disappointment, "What? He's still alive? What kind of pills are these?" It was unclear if they were marveling at the pills' efficacy or lamenting the unfairness of fate.

One thing was certain: everyone's admiration for Mo's Pills had reached an unprecedented level.

However, good pills did not necessarily equate to strong power. A few kind-hearted individuals quietly approached Mo Qi and said, "You've gotten yourself into big trouble. You should flee quickly. The Wang family's influence is not something you can contend with."

Mo Qi smiled calmly, "My strength is also beyond their imagination."

"Alas, they won't shed tears until they see the coffin," those people sighed and left.

However, the queue for buying pills remained steadfast, silently reforming, orderly as ever. Perhaps they believed that Mo Qi would soon be packing his bags and leaving, and if they didn't buy pills now, they never would. Wu Siqi and Shui Ling returned to the shop. Jin Yan pondered for a moment, looking into the distance, then said to Mo Qi, "I'm going back." Without waiting for Mo Qi's reply, she flew away.

Wang Fu sat on the ground, resting and breathing heavily.

Mo Qi handed him the bill again, "The pill cost is twenty million spirit stones, thank you."

Wang Fu glared at him fiercely but remained silent.

Mo Qi stepped forward, grabbed the storage bag from Wang Fu's waist, and rummaged through it. After a long search, he found a total of five hundred thousand spirit stones. Mo Qi took out all the spirit stones and put them into his own storage bag, then threw the other man's storage bag back, "Even poorer than Xie Yuxian, yet still so arrogant. Where do you get your arrogance from?"

A moment later, Mo Qi saw the source of Wang Fu's arrogance – his grandfather, Wang Dao, and his father, Wang Qin, had arrived. However, before that, Mo Qi had already written an IOU and forcibly grabbed Wang Fu's hand to press his fingerprint.

Upon hearing the servant's report that Wang Fu had been beaten to death, Wang Qin fainted on the spot. Wang Dao pounded his chest in frustration. After waking Wang Dao, the two of them rushed over in a furious rage.

Seeing this, many pill buyers realized that a major battle was inevitable. To avoid getting caught in the crossfire, some left immediately, while others, possessing superior skill and courage, remained at the scene to watch the spectacle from a distance.

"My son, where has my son died?" Wang Qin began to cry while still in mid-air.

Wang Dao's explosive temper instantly erupted into the air, "Which bastard killed my grandson? Come out and die, and I'll tear you limb from limb and skin you alive."

Then, they were astonished to find Wang Fu standing there perfectly fine, full of vigor and spirit, though his body was covered in blood, there were no visible wounds.

Seeing his pillars of support arrive, Wang Fu immediately flew over. Wang Qin, overjoyed, embraced Wang Fu and cried, "You're not dead, it's good that you're not dead." Wang Fu pushed Wang Qin away with effort, stood beside Wang Dao, and glared back at Mo Qi, "Grandfather, Father, this is the person who killed me just now."

Wang Dao and Wang Qin looked at Wang Fu in unison, "Did you really die? Is this a ghost before us?"

Wang Fu felt a chill down his spine under their gaze, "What's wrong? You're not going to avenge me, why are you just standing there blankly?"

Wang Dao glared at him, "Don't talk nonsense. Aren't you standing here perfectly fine?"

Wang Fu showed a wronged expression, "I am fine now, but I was beaten to death just now, and now I've come back to life." He genuinely felt as if he had died once.

In the eyes of others, Wang Fu must have been beaten senseless.

Although Wang Fu was now alive and kicking, regardless, Wang Dao and Wang Qin had realized that he must have been subjected to extremely brutal treatment. How could their grandson (son) suffer such humiliation within Lexi City? If such an incident were allowed to occur, how would the Wang family establish themselves in Lexi City or even in the Zhenghuo Sect in the future?

"Yes, I killed him, and then I resurrected him with my pills." Facing the accusation, Mo Qi did not deny it. On the contrary, he felt that admitting this "fact" would help promote his pills. He then took out the IOU and displayed it in the air, "He owes me nineteen million five hundred thousand spirit stones for the pills. How do you intend to pay?"

"What kind of pill is so miraculous?" Wang Qin couldn't help but ask.

Wang Dao glared at him, then looked at Mo Qi, "Don't flatter yourself. The pill money..." He then looked at Wang Fu and said angrily, "What's going on?" Suddenly, he felt that his grandson and son were playing him for a fool, and he became enraged for no reason.

Wang Fu mumbled, "No, he gave it to me to eat himself, and the note was also written by him. He also forcibly held my hand to press the fingerprint."

Wang Dao finally found a breakthrough, "Is there no law? This is simply lawless. What do you think this place is, that you can engage in forced sales and then cause such a commotion?"

Wang Qin said, "Yes, we will not accept the bill..."

Wang Dao glared at him again, staring back the unfinished words.

"We can acknowledge the bill, but first, you must pay the same price as my grandson, and second, you must leave Lexi City immediately and never appear here again," Wang Dao said.

Mo Qi sneered, "Truly, like grandfather, like grandson. You and your grandson have the same look, and your tone of telling people to leave is identical. I'm just puzzled, on what basis can your Wang family decide whether a person stays or goes? Can you really cover the sky with one hand?"

Wang Dao's ferocious face finally revealed itself, "You're right. Here, we can indeed cover the sky with one hand."

"You're wrong. You can only cover half of it; the other half is covered by my Xie family." A voice approached from afar. Everyone looked towards the sound and saw Xie Yuxian flying back from a distance, then hovering in mid-air, looking down at Mo Qi, "If you tear up the IOU and clear your debt, I will help you fight them."

It turned out he was still burdened by that debt. The moment he returned home, he had asked his father, mother, uncles, and aunts for money with a troubled expression, but he only managed to gather two million spirit stones, still far from the target of nine million. When people asked him what had happened, he was too ashamed to speak, remaining silent, only saying he needed money. He also instructed his followers not to reveal what had happened that day.

He suddenly had an inspiration, remembering how he used to pester debtors relentlessly when others owed him money. How much trouble had he caused them back then? This constant preoccupation that disrupted his eating and sleeping was truly unbearable.

The one who tied the knot must untie it. Perhaps by negotiating with the creditor, he could be freed from this burden, and so he returned to Mo Qi's shop.

However, Mo Qi's answer disappointed him immensely, "It's impossible to clear the debt, and I don't need you to help me fight them. These clowns are not worth my concern."

This one sentence completely enraged Wang Dao. "You're courting death!" Wang Dao roared, forming a hand seal with his left hand and a palm with his right. A palm print surged outwards, expanding infinitely. In an instant, it reached Mo Qi. Mo Qi hastily formed a hand seal, activating his Heavenly Eye. A beam of light shot out, spreading in a conical shape, but before it could fully expand, it collided with the palm print. With a deafening roar, the light and energy shattered, exploding outwards in all directions.

The onlookers scattered, while some, unable to dodge in time, sustained injuries of varying severity.
