A brown Porsche Cayenne slowly stopped at the entrance of Shang Hang Art School. The security guards there were used to it, as there were too many luxury cars entering and exiting the school.
However, upon seeing Yan Shouyi emerge from the car, the guards immediately rushed over.
"Captain, Captain!" they shouted.
Uncle Zhong chuckled, "Mr. Yan is quite popular."
"Ahem, it's no big deal. Uncle Zhong, drive back safely. I'll visit you at Zui Hua Li in a few days." Yan Shouyi bid farewell politely and humbly.
Uncle Zhong was very pleased with Yan Shouyi. The young man was capable yet humble, polite to others and modest about himself. He couldn't find a more outstanding youth among the younger generation.
After bidding farewell to Uncle Zhong, Yan Shouyi walked towards the security guards. Seeing their flustered expressions, he asked, "Has something happened?"
"Captain, nothing is wrong with the school, but our Vice Captain Xiao Long fell ill yesterday and is still running a high fever in the dormitory," a guard replied.
"What? Is that so? I'll go back and check."
Yan Shouyi felt that something was amiss. Long Feicheng, though thin, was generally healthy and wouldn't fall ill so easily.
He walked directly into the school and hurried back to his dormitory.
Pushing open the door, Yan Shouyi was startled. The dormitory was covered in talismans, but the characters on them were not useful incantations, but rather crooked scribbles that didn't even resemble proper runes.
The curtains were tightly drawn, blocking out all light, making the room dark and difficult to see.
Yan Shouyi entered the dormitory and saw a figure bundled up in a blanket on Long Feicheng's bed.
"Xiao Long?"
As soon as Yan Shouyi spoke, Long Feicheng suddenly leaped out of the covers, wielding a wooden sword, and lunged at Yan Shouyi.
But Long Feicheng was no match for Yan Shouyi. Yan Shouyi took a step back, letting Long Feicheng miss. He then bent down, picked up a flip-flop, and slapped Long Feicheng directly in the face.
*Slap!*
Long Feicheng was stunned.
Yan Shouyi seized the opportunity to snatch the wooden sword from Long Feicheng and said, "Are you possessed in broad daylight?"
Long Feicheng finally came to his senses. Seeing that it was Yan Shouyi who had returned, he immediately sobered up and hugged Yan Shouyi's leg, "Brother, you're finally back!"
"Get away from me. I'm wearing new clothes. Don't get your snot on me." Yan Shouyi kicked Long Feicheng away and asked, "They said you were sick, but you look like you've gone mad?"
Long Feicheng scrambled up nimbly, a pained expression on his face.
"Brother Yan, you have no idea. The day before yesterday, right after you left, I was haunted by a ghost!"
"Ghost?"
Yan Shouyi immediately turned serious, scanning the dormitory. He could indeed sense a faint ghostly aura.
The situation in the room had been too bizarre, coupled with Long Feicheng's erratic behavior, which was why Yan Shouyi hadn't noticed it earlier.
"What happened?" Yan Shouyi asked.
Instead of explaining immediately, Long Feicheng began to complain to Yan Shouyi.
"Brother Yan, you said we were just going up the mountain for dinner, but you stayed for three days! And you didn't answer your phone or reply to messages in between. I thought the Bai family had retaliated against you!"
The truth was, the signal on Guling Mountain was often poor, and after Yan Shouyi went into the Yin Yang realm of the Liu family ancestral home, there was no hope of getting a signal. Furthermore, Yan Shouyi rarely checked his phone when he wasn't expecting calls, thus perfectly ignoring all of Long Feicheng's attempts to contact him.
However, feeling embarrassed to admit his oversight, Yan Shouyi quickly changed the subject, "Let's talk about the important matter. Are you willing to be pestered by ghosts?"
At the mention of this, Long Feicheng showed a thousand expressions of unwillingness, shaking his head like a rattle drum.
His mouth immediately turned into a machine gun, spewing out words so quickly that Yan Shouyi could barely understand them.
After a long explanation, Yan Shouyi finally grasped what had happened to Long Feicheng, and his expression grew serious.
It turned out that strange things began to happen on the very night Yan Shouyi left.
With Yan Shouyi gone, Long Feicheng obviously wouldn't dutifully stand guard. So, before it got dark, he returned to the dormitory to sleep.
Perhaps because he slept too early, Long Feicheng woke up in the middle of the night and tossed and turned, unable to fall back asleep.
Suffering from insomnia, Long Feicheng couldn't resist searching for adult videos in his bed. After watching them, his body felt even weaker.
Just as he was exhausted and finally feeling sleepy, he suddenly heard a knock on the door.
Who would be knocking at this hour?
Could it be Brother Yan returning?
Thinking this, Long Feicheng, wearing only his underwear, got up to open the door.
However, upon opening the door, he found no one outside!
But at the time, Long Feicheng didn't think much of it, assuming he had misheard. To his surprise, as soon as he got back into bed, the knocking sounded again.
Long Feicheng quickly went to open the door, only to find it empty once more!
He poked his head out to look. Not only was there no one outside the door, but both ends of the long corridor were also deserted.
This sent a cold sweat down Long Feicheng's spine. After closing the door, he immediately retrieved a ghost-repelling talisman that Yan Shouyi had left behind and put it on himself.
As soon as he found the talisman, the knocking sounded again. Long Feicheng gritted his teeth and went to open the door.
There was still no one behind the door!
But what sent a chill down Long Feicheng's spine was that although there was no one outside, there was a pair of embroidered shoes on the ground!
The bright red embroidered shoes appeared particularly vibrant in the darkness, with their tips pointing outwards, forming a V-shape. It looked as if an invisible woman was standing outside the door!
Long Feicheng was terrified and kicked the embroidered shoes away. Just as he was about to close the door, he suddenly felt a suffocating sensation.
It was as if someone was strangling his neck!
But the suffocating feeling vanished instantly. When Long Feicheng came to his senses, one of the ghost-repelling talismans on him had already burned away.
Long Feicheng knew that something unclean had come knocking, so he didn't dare to sleep all night, sitting on a chair and guarding until dawn.
All night, the embroidered shoes did not reappear. Long Feicheng finally breathed a sigh of relief and took a nap after dawn.
After waking up, Long Feicheng felt a discomfort in his stomach and went to the toilet with the ghost-repelling talisman. As soon as he squatted down, a knocking sound came from outside the toilet door, and it was very urgent.
Long Feicheng sensed something was wrong. He lowered his head and looked through the gap in the door. Outside the toilet door, indeed, was the pair of embroidered shoes!
Immediately, Long Feicheng felt the suffocating sensation again, but as the ghost-repelling talisman self-ignited, the suffocating feeling also disappeared.
Later that night, Long Feicheng no longer dared to sleep, nor did he dare to stay in the dormitory. He found a 24-hour food stall to eat. To bolster his courage, he drank a little wine. When he paid the bill before dawn, the stall owner came over and asked Long Feicheng with a smile if he had a girl he liked, otherwise why would he have placed a pair of embroidered shoes on the table.
As soon as Long Feicheng heard this, his back turned cold. He looked back and saw that the familiar pair of embroidered shoes were indeed on the table!
The third suffocating sensation arrived, and the last ghost-repelling talisman lost its effect!
Fortunately, it was dawn by then, and the embroidered shoes disappeared.
Long Feicheng felt that something was seriously wrong. Without the protection of the ghost-repelling talismans, the next appearance of the embroidered shoes would surely be his demise!
Unable to contact Yan Shouyi, Long Feicheng had to find a way to protect himself. He remembered that he still had the Palm Thunder Talisman that Yan Shouyi had given him. So, he took sick leave and returned to the dormitory. First, he randomly drew a lot of Taoist talismans and posted them everywhere, thinking that the female ghost with the embroidered shoes would be frightened. Then, he carved a broomstick into a wooden sword, using it as a peach wood sword.
Finally, holding the wooden sword and the Palm Thunder Talisman, he hid in his blanket, waiting for the embroidered shoes to appear, intending to fight them to the death!
As it turned out, the embroidered shoes did not appear, but his savior, Yan Shouyi, did.
At this moment, Long Feicheng was full of exhaustion but also indignant. He said to Yan Shouyi:
"Because of those embroidered shoes, I haven't slept for two days, Brother Yan. Later, we brothers will work together to catch that female ghost with the embroidered shoes and give her a good beating. I want to know which bastard sent a ghost to pester me!!"
Yan Shouyi chuckled, realizing that Long Feicheng wouldn't have been so fierce if he hadn't arrived.
"But we have to find the embroidered shoes first." Yan Shouyi stopped speaking abruptly.
Long Feicheng asked curiously, "Brother Yan, what's wrong?"
Yan Shouyi did not answer. Instead, he slowly walked towards Long Feicheng's bed. He lifted Long Feicheng's blanket, and beneath it, a pair of bright red embroidered shoes suddenly appeared.
It turned out that the pair of embroidered shoes had already entered Long Feicheng's bedding...
