Chapter 7 Imprisonment

His sister, having already begun to believe him after he accurately revealed her past, and now facing a life-or-death situation, did not hesitate. She turned and removed the last of her modesty cloth.

Yan Shouyi gazed at her smooth, fair back, momentarily flustered, but quickly regained his composure.

Over the years, traveling the country with his grandfather, visiting both desolate mountain villages and bustling metropolises, he had seen many women whose beauty surpassed that of the sister before him. Some of them had even expressed a desire to marry Yan Shouyi.

However, his grandfather had rejected them all, not because Yan Shouyi had a prior engagement, but because of a piece of advice his grandfather had given him:

The world was filled with beautiful exteriors, but skins eventually aged and withered. Only the inner self remained eternally vibrant and unchanging.

This was also the origin of Yan Shouyi's name. His parents hoped he would remain steadfast, recognize his own path, and not be easily swayed by worldly temptations.

At the time, Yan Shouyi didn't quite understand his grandfather's words and asked why he couldn't marry those beautiful young ladies. His grandfather eventually sighed and said,

"You little brat, can't you aim higher? Those ordinary beauties are not worthy of you."

Later, Yan Shouyi recalled his grandfather's words, thinking they were rather arrogant.

Coming back to his senses, Yan Shouyi carefully examined the sister's back.

The "Lu Ban Book" passed down to Yan Shouyi by his grandfather contained not only the folk magical arts originally collected by Lu Ban but also many additions by later generations. Therefore, the content of the "Lu Ban Book" was vast and diverse, containing many unorthodox and even harmful magical arts.

Among the medical techniques recorded in the middle volume was a unique art called the "Wu Clan Bone Palpation Method," which could diagnose difficult illnesses through bone palpation with great accuracy.

Of course, for minor ailments like a fever or a cold, bone palpation was unnecessary; one could simply go to the hospital.

Yan Shouyi extended his hand and placed it on the sister's third vertebra. Then, using a special finger technique, he alternately massaged, kneaded, patted, and pressed.

Whether it was due to fear or Yan Shouyi's technique, the sister, who could normally remain calm even when undressed, was now breathing heavily.

Yan Shouyi moved from the third vertebra down to the coccyx, then frowned deeply.

"Any results?" the sister asked from behind, pulling a torn blanket around herself.

Just as Yan Shouyi was about to reply, the hotel room door was kicked open with a bang!

Following closely, a figure burst in, a powerful flashlight almost blinding Yan Shouyi: "Prostitution crackdown!"

Yan Shouyi: "..."

Earlier, to prevent the sister from feeling awkward, Yan Shouyi had turned off the room lights. Now, as other police officers followed in and turned on the lights, Yan Shouyi finally got a clear look at the person who had entered first.

She was an efficient female police officer, her long hair tied back and neatly tucked under her cap. She appeared to be only a year or two older than Yan Shouyi, not much more, but her developed physique was truly astonishing, making the fitted police uniform seem somewhat constricting.

The female officer took in the scene in the room and noticed how young Yan Shouyi was, her expression turning to disgust: "You scoundrel, too young to learn anything good, and you're doing this!"

However, the female officer was more considerate of the sister, casually picking up her clothes and tossing them over: "Hurry up and put your clothes on!"

The sister seemed accustomed to such situations. She smiled, hugged the clothes, and went into the bathroom.

Yan Shouyi quickly tried to explain: "You've misunderstood, we weren't doing anything of that sort!"

"Back up, squat down, hands on your head!"

The female officer ordered Yan Shouyi back and sneered, "We've seen plenty of your kind. Bold enough to do bad deeds but not brave enough to admit it. If you weren't doing anything like that, what were you doing, telling fortunes and palpating bones?"

Yan Shouyi was shocked: "How did you know?!"

Did this female officer also practice divination? But looking at her, she didn't seem like a peer!

"Stop playing dumb!"

The female officer snorted, yanked Yan Shouyi off the bed, and deftly cuffed him.

With handcuffs on his wrists and squatting on the floor, Yan Shouyi felt utterly wronged. It was truly a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. The misfortune of imprisonment he had foreseen had come to pass so quickly.

He hadn't even accomplished anything since arriving in Rongcheng, and now he was going to be locked up for a few days.

However, Yan Shouyi wasn't concerned about that at the moment. He had already determined the sister's illness and the most pressing matter was to get her to a hospital immediately!

So, Yan Shouyi said to the female officer with a sincere expression, "Sister, can I speak with the other sister?"

Unexpectedly, the female officer's attitude was firm: "Don't even think about it. Don't think I don't know you want to collude with her!"

"It's really not what you think. I have something very important to tell her, or someone will die!"

The female officer glanced towards the trash can and said, "You don't even care about your own millions of descendants."

Yan Shouyi blinked for three seconds before realizing what she meant and quickly explained, "What's in the trash can is just my snot..."

At that moment, the sister, now dressed, walked out of the bathroom, and the other police officers immediately pushed her toward the exit.

Yan Shouyi didn't dare to act rashly. He calmly gathered his belongings and followed behind.

Not only was this his first time "eating fast food," but it was also his first time being arrested. However, Yan Shouyi knew that no matter what he said now, that efficient female officer wouldn't listen.

He could only try to communicate once they reached the police station.

To his surprise, over a dozen other people were arrested along with him. Yan Shouyi had never expected this small hotel to be so busy.

Quite a few passersby had gathered on the street, pointing and whispering at Yan Shouyi and the others. Yan Shouyi's face turned red with shame as he lowered his head and quickly got into the police car.

The police cars, laden with their catch and flashing their sirens, drove away in a grand procession, leaving behind the still-chattering onlookers, who lingered on the street despite the heat, gossiping.

Not long after Yan Shouyi and the others were arrested, a Mercedes-Maybach stopped by the roadside.

A blonde young woman stepped out of the car. She was attractive, dressed in Gucci, and carrying an LV designer bag, an incongruous sight in her surroundings.

As soon as she stood still, two bodyguards appeared by her side.

The young woman tossed her wavy hair aside and glanced disdainfully at the surrounding environment, asking,

"The so-called master lives in a place like this?"

A bodyguard beside her nodded quickly, "Miss, that master is quite extraordinary. If it weren't for his help yesterday, Mr. Zhang would have been in trouble. Now Mr. Zhang is busy with construction matters and can't get away, so he sent us to arrange for you to meet the master. Mr. Zhang specifically instructed that the master must not be treated with any disrespect!"

This wealthy young woman was, in fact, Zhang Guodong's daughter. Her name was Zhang Yingying, a freshman at Rongcheng Huánán Academy of Arts, one year younger than Yan Shouyi.

After Yan Shouyi left yesterday, Zhang Guodong had carefully considered the matter and decided to let his daughter meet Yan Shouyi. Even if he couldn't be taken as a son-in-law, a confidante would be good.

With Zhang Guodong's influence in Rongcheng, finding someone's whereabouts once he knew their name was incredibly easy.

And so, the current scene unfolded.

Zhang Yingying was quite disdainful of the so-called master. Tonight, she had planned to go shopping at Hermès with her classmates and then go out to a bar to have some fun. Not only did she fail to do so, but she was also asked to come to a place that resembled a slum.

However, this was her father's wish, and Zhang Yingying dared not refuse. Otherwise, who would buy her luxury goods?

Zhang Yingying held her nose and walked into the small hotel. When she reached the reception, she saw the hotel owner sitting there.

The owner had made an arrangement with the women working there. Although she played the role of a madam, if the police showed up, she would pretend to be completely oblivious, and the girls would never betray her, as they depended on the owner for their livelihood.

Therefore, the owner remained unharmed.

A bodyguard stepped forward and asked, "Do you have a guest named Yan Shouyi staying here?"

The owner was in a bad mood and wanted to retort, but when she looked up and saw the two burly bodyguards, she immediately became much more timid. She honestly checked the registration book and then said,

"You're too late. The police just conducted a prostitution crackdown, and that young man was arrested. They just took him away."

Zhang Yingying: "..."

The two bodyguards: "..."
