Chapter 23 Ubiquitous Cameras

Chapter 1 The Recording Begins

When Zhou Yi and his teammates set foot on Barcelona, Spain, the recording of the reality TV show officially began.

From the moment they stood in front of the baggage carousel waiting to collect their luggage, several camera crews surrounded them from different angles, recording every bit of their time.

At first, the young players were not used to it and kept looking at the cameras, flashing embarrassed smiles whenever they saw a lens.

The cameraman had to remind them, "It's okay, just do what you normally do, pretend I'm not here!"

The other young players would look away after hearing this, but Zhou Yi was an exception. He stared blankly at the camera, as if his soul had been captured by it, making the cameraman reluctant to film him any further.

Just as the cameraman was about to move the camera away, Zhou Yi suddenly asked, "Um... are you just going to follow us around and film like this?"

"Of course," the cameraman replied.

"Filming wherever we go?"

"That's right."

Zhou Yi revealed a troubled expression upon hearing this.

The cameraman thought that he was like the other young players, not used to being followed by a camera, and comforted him, "It's okay, you'll get used to it soon, you'll be fine once you get used to it..."

But the expression on Zhou Yi's face became even more troubled: "It's not that... um, will there be people filming while we go to the toilet and take showers... I really can't get used to that..."

The cameraman stumbled, almost dropping the camera.

"How is that possible!" he quickly defended. "Why would we film you showering and going to the toilet?"

"Really not filming showers?" Zhou Yi was still a little doubtful.

"The audience doesn't want to watch you shower and poop either!" the cameraman said anxiously.

Zhou Yi was finally relieved—he didn't want the audience to see that either.

The boys collected their luggage and left the exit in a line, where dedicated reception staff were responsible for receiving them.

A large group of Asian children in uniform suddenly appeared in the airport, attracting the curiosity of many foreigners, who turned their attention to these excited, chattering children.

However, they quickly lost interest in the children—just a tour group, right? This scene was seen countless times a year in Barcelona, a tourist city.

The boys boarded a bus and soon left the airport, heading towards their accommodation.

The bus came out of the airport and turned onto the highway. The scenery along the way was beautiful. The children basically had one action—turning their heads to look out the window, curiously examining this completely unfamiliar city and country.

Only He Ying was the most calm.

As the main player of the national youth team, and also a future main player of the national youth team, he had traveled abroad with the team to play in many competitions. He had also come to Europe several times with the national youth team for training camps, so he was considered someone who had seen the world. Naturally, his performance could not be the same as that of his other teammates.

He sat on the bus, looking down at the book in his hand, the same one that Zhou Yi had seen in the dormitory—a Catalan textbook.

The bus finally stopped at their destination, in front of a hotel located in the suburbs.

This was the hotel where the team would be staying during their time in Barcelona. It was not far from the training ground where they usually trained, only a ten-minute drive away, and the price was not too expensive, which was acceptable in terms of the show's production budget.

The conditions were still acceptable, with all the necessary facilities.

Accommodation was still two people per room, and the grouping was exactly the same as during the domestic training camp. That is, the two young players who lived in the same room during the domestic training camp still lived in the same room here.

So... Zhou Yi and He Ying became roommates again.

This time, Zhou Yi had learned his lesson. Watching He Ying take things out of his suitcase, running back and forth, he would no longer take the initiative to ask if he needed help.

He packed faster than He Ying because he didn't have to take things out and arrange them neatly like He Ying did. He just took out the things he usually used and put them wherever he could reach, without considering whether the placement would make things look messy.

He Ying looked up from time to time while packing, and each time he would see Zhou Yi's messy items.

This really made him sigh in his heart.

Just then, there was a knock on the door.

He Ying was still packing, so Zhou Yi went to open the door.

When he opened the door, he found the cameraman carrying a camera standing outside. When the cameraman saw Zhou Yi, he smiled—he was the one who Zhou Yi had repeatedly asked at the airport whether he would film him showering and going to the toilet.

"Hello, we're here to film He Ying," he said.

He Ying was the biggest star on this team, so naturally he deserved more screen time.

Zhou Yi originally planned to let them in, but suddenly thought of his messy bed, and quickly said sorry, then slammed the door shut.

Then he quickly turned around and returned to his bed, starting to pack up in a flurry.

When He Ying saw Zhou Yi suddenly packing up so quickly, he naturally knew why, because he had heard the cameraman's words outside. He shook his head, this kid...

But he also had to thank Zhou Yi, because he hadn't finished packing himself. If the cameraman came in and filmed him packing, it wouldn't be very good...

Seeing Zhou Yi packing frantically, he also sped up. If he hadn't finished packing before Zhou Yi was done, he thought Zhou Yi wouldn't wait for him.

The cameraman outside, who almost got hit by the door with his camera, was confused, not understanding why this kid had suddenly turned his face...

Could it be that he and He Ying were not on good terms, and he didn't want to see himself filming He Ying, and didn't want He Ying to show off?

Just as the cameraman was already conjuring up a complete drama in his mind about discord between teammates, a big fight during team training, and infighting during the game leading to the team's crushing defeat against the Barcelona youth team, the door was opened.

Zhou Yi stood at the door, his face full of smiles: "Please come in!"

When the cameraman walked in, He Ying was reading a book. He looked up at the cameraman, then continued reading his book.

Zhou Yi sat on his bed, not saying a word.

The room suddenly fell into silence.

This silence made people feel very awkward. The cameraman thought that the two of them were a little restrained because he and the lighting technician were there, and didn't know what to do.

So he winked at Zhou Yi, telling him to act normally.

Zhou Yi looked blank.

After winking several times to no avail, the cameraman could only helplessly turn off the camera, and then said to the two of them: "Um, can you guys act a little more normal, a little more natural? Just do what you usually do, don't be any different just because we're here. The main purpose of this is to let the audience understand your daily state..."

After saying what he wanted to say, he picked up the camera again and said to the two of them, "We can start now."

Zhou Yi looked at him, spread his hands, and said innocently, "But... we're always like this."

"Huh?" The cameraman didn't understand. What did he mean by "always like this"? "You guys are always... like this, he reads his book, you space out, no communication, no chatting?"

"Almost never," Zhou Yi said.

"You guys... were really roommates during the domestic training camp?" the cameraman asked even more strangely.

"Yes."

"Then you..." The cameraman hesitated, and asked in a low voice, "You guys really don't have any grudges?"

He Ying couldn't listen anymore, looked up at him and said, "We're always like this, and we don't have any grudges."

The cameraman was speechless.

How the hell was he supposed to film this!

Film a weird, quiet scene? The two of them were in the same room, but neither of them paid attention to the other? No communication. No one would believe that their relationship was normal, right?

But he couldn't not film, all the footage related to He Ying was important material.

So the cameraman carried the camera and started filming with a stiff upper lip. The camera swept across the entire room, lingered on Zhou Yi for about a second, then quickly moved away, and finally focused on He Ying. Pushing in for a close-up, then pulling out, giving a close-up, medium shot, and long shot.

Throughout the entire process, there really wasn't any sound in the room, except for the sound of turning pages.

What surprised the cameraman was that He Ying's roommate really didn't make any sound either, just sitting on the bed spacing out—he couldn't figure out whether Zhou Yi usually spaced out like this, or whether it was because his arrival made him a little overwhelmed.

In this way, the cameraman filmed a very strange scene and left with the lighting technician.

On the way back, the two of them were still discussing it quietly, and finally reached a consensus—He Ying and Zhou Yi definitely had a conflict! They just didn't want to admit it in front of them!

When the Chinese youth players who went on the westward expedition arrived in Barcelona, it was already in the afternoon. Because of the fatigue of the journey and the influence of jet lag, the coaching staff did not arrange any training on this day, and required everyone to go to bed at nine o'clock in the evening to adjust to the time difference.

So even though the young players were very excited about coming to a foreign country, they still suppressed their inner excitement and honestly followed the coaching staff's regulations, going to bed early.

But it's hard to say whether this was because the young players were all highly disciplined, or whether there was another important reason.

That is, there were several camera crews wandering around the hotel with cameras. If they didn't sleep and were filmed wandering around outside, it wouldn't just be a matter of being scolded by the coach... If they were included in the show, wouldn't the whole country know that they didn't follow the rules?

That would be too embarrassing...

Everyone was a child, and they all had a competitive spirit. No one wanted to be the embarrassing bad example.

Even Sun Pan, who was so lively, didn't come to Zhou Yi to go shopping.

Zhou Yi had no objection to going to bed early, and was quite happy because he could enter the system earlier to train.

In fact, Zhou Yi had also used his sleeping time to train in the system on the plane, but it was always good to improve his strength.

However, this time when Zhou Yi entered the system, he found some changes.
