Chapter 62 Seizing the Company

Upon entering Shao’s company, some of the older managers and shareholders recognized her, their eyes widening in surprise.

"You are... Miss Shao?" Manager Liu stepped forward to inquire.

"Uncle Liu, you still remember me." Su Ding elegantly stepped forward to shake his hand. "I've been back in the country for some time."

Manager Liu had heard about the Shao family's affairs. Seeing Su Ding’s demeanor, he sensed something was amiss. "What brings you here today?"

"To attend the shareholders' meeting," Su Ding replied with a bright smile.

"You want to attend the shareholders' meeting?" Manager Liu repeated in astonishment. "You, how can you?"

"That's right, Brother Liu. Miss Shao here is one of our shareholders."

A middle-aged man walked over from behind, the very same man Su Ding had met at the restaurant not long ago.

"Manager Huang?" Manager Liu looked at him doubtfully.

"I have transferred thirty percent of my shares to Miss Shao. Miss Shao herself holds twenty-one percent, making her the largest shareholder of Shao’s company," Manager Huang stated.

"What?" Manager Liu scrutinized Su Ding with an incredulous gaze.

"Uncle Liu, Manager Huang, let's go inside."

Su Ding smiled slightly and led the way into the transparent, upscale conference room, taking a seat.

Quite a few shareholders were already seated. Some recognized Su Ding, while others did not. Su Ding greeted them all with a smile.

Only Shao Zheng Gang was missing to make the group complete.

At that moment, Shao Zheng Gang's personal secretary came to inform them, "My apologies, everyone. Our President Shao cannot attend due to an unforeseen matter."

Someone cast a sarcastic glance at Su Ding. "Could it be because of Madam Shao's infidelity appearing on the financial news?"

Upon hearing this, the room erupted in hushed whispers.

"Tsk tsk, you probably don't know yet. She bought luxury cars for some other man behind Old Shao’s back, and even gifted him shares..."

"Yes, photos of that woman shamelessly kissing that wild man have all been leaked."

"How embarrassing, her reputation is ruined."

Hearing this, Su Ding did not get angry; instead, she smiled with satisfaction.

Her phone in her pocket was ringing incessantly...

She glanced at it. It was Shao Lin calling.

A string of malicious text messages, sent from an untraceable number, were all curses.

Su Ding stood up. "Everyone, please be quiet. I imagine some of you recognize me, while others do not. Allow me to introduce myself... My purpose here today is to run for the position of Chairperson of this company."

Her declaration caused a stir.

Su Ding smiled, informed everyone of her shareholdings, and then proceeded to explain the company’s current predicament, her proposed solutions, and its future prospects.

She promised that if she became Chairperson, she would bring them even greater returns than they were currently receiving.

...

Ultimately, the majority voted for Su Ding, who already possessed the most shares.

Now, only Shao Zheng Gang’s opinion remained.

However, his opinion could no longer change the current situation. According to company bylaws, his vote was still required as a formality.

The shareholders' meeting concluded. Su Ding shook hands with everyone and departed.

As soon as she got downstairs, Shao Zheng Gang’s call came through.

Su Ding raised an eyebrow. Had he recovered so quickly?

Upon answering, Shao Zheng Gang said, his voice raspy with anger, "Shao Xu, what do you think you are doing? Why did you go to the company today? Where did you get those shares!"

The background was noisy, and the faint sound of Wang Meilan’s crying could be heard.

"I am merely taking back what rightfully belongs to my mother. When Shao’s Enterprise was founded, my mother’s family provided the capital and support. In the end, you became President Shao, but you kicked the Su family out of the picture. You even stripped away the little my mother possessed and gave it to your mistress and the daughter she bore."

"If you have even a shred of guilt left in your heart, then sign and agree to my becoming Chairperson. Of course, it doesn't matter if you don't sign; I have plenty of ways to secure this position."

Shao Zheng Gang's face turned red with rage. "You! What qualifications do you have! Do you understand how to run a company? Do you think a flowery speech can satisfy the shareholders? Naive!"

"Yes, I am naive. But aren't you, Father, naive as well? You forced your wife to her death and then married the wicked woman who betrayed you." Su Ding chuckled scornfully. "Do you think the shareholders will still trust you once your shameful secrets are exposed?"

"You! You ungrateful daughter!" Shao Zheng Gang roared. He tried to curse further, but Su Ding had already hung up the phone.
