Chapter 82 Mr. Jin Buys His Wife a Luxury Car

Jin Ye smiled and patted her head.

“Have the young master and lady eaten?” Aunt Du asked.

Su Ding saw Su Xiao Rui wearing a bib and knew they were dining. She smiled, “We have, thank you for the trouble.”

Aunt Du smiled gently, “Miss, you’re too polite.”

Jin Ye and Su Ding sat for a while before the company called him away.

Su Ding stayed, sent a message to Xiao Yuan, and then accompanied her daughter watching television.

As it approached noon, Xiao Yuan rushed over.

She carried big bags of things and looked somewhat apologetic, “Ding Ding, this is for the child.”

Su Ding smiled and helped her carry them in, “Don’t be so polite, I told you, I don’t blame you.”

Turning, she gave Xiao Rui a look. Xiao Rui affectionately went over and hugged Xiao Yuan, “Aunt Xiao Yuan, I missed you so much.”

“Good girl, darling, Auntie missed you too.”

Holding Xiao Rui, whom she had lost and found again, Xiao Yuan almost shed tears.

After a brief exchange of pleasantries, Aunt Du went to cook. Su Xiao Rui continued watching cartoons, while Su Ding took Xiao Yuan to the study to talk.

“What are your plans next? The company told me that the advertising contract we previously signed has been postponed, and the company has already negotiated with the other party.”

“Give me two more days, and I’ll arrange the matters with the Shao Group, then I’ll start working.”

Su Ding hugged Xiao Yuan, “You’ve worked hard these past few days.”

Xiao Yuan smiled, “Not at all. Once you confirm, I’ll arrange your schedule.”

Su Ding nodded.

Xiao Yuan remembered the rumors she had heard yesterday and couldn’t help but ask, “What exactly happened yesterday? Mrs. Shao was going to jump off the building?”

Xiao Yuan had learned about Su Ding’s grievances with the Shao family during these past few days, but the incident of someone attempting to jump off the building was indeed quite shocking.

Fortunately, Jin Corporation had intervened in time, suppressing the news from breaking out.

“She must have gone mad,” Su Ding shook her head. “The Jin family must have suppressed this matter.”

Even without Jin Ye present, the public relations team of Huang Qi Group was not to be trifled with. They deleted all related news that very day. Even if troublemakers posted videos and photos from that day, they didn’t cause much of a stir.

“Yes, the impact on you should be minimized,” Xiao Yuan said.

Su Ding chuckled lightly, thinking she should also be grateful for how thoroughly she had played along before.

Xiao Yuan continued, “Then I’ll follow up on the film and television scripts I’ve contacted. I’ll send you the ones I think are good to your email. You can take some time to look at them these two days.”

Su Ding made an okay gesture.

The two chatted about recent events. Su Ding kept Xiao Yuan at home for lunch. Xiao Yuan left after the meal.

That afternoon, Su Ding slept deeply at home.

When she woke up, she saw missed calls from Jin Ye on her phone. A smile appeared on her face; it felt good to be remembered.

She called him back. When the line connected, she asked, “What’s up?”

“Awake? I have a gift for you. Come downstairs now.” Jin Ye’s deep voice was incredibly pleasant.

“Hmm? Are you downstairs?” Su Ding asked, getting out of bed and dressing.

On the other end of the line, Jin Ye waited patiently for her. “No rush, I happened to be nearby on business, and I’m almost at your building now.”

Su Ding, feeling curious, hurried downstairs. As she exited the building, she saw Jin Ye standing under a tree.

White shirt, suit pants, a tall figure, and an imposing aura.

Su Ding couldn’t help but quicken her pace, jogging forward and looking up, “Why are you here?”

Her shining eyes and unconcealed happiness filled her with the beautiful charm of a maiden in love.

“A gift.”

Jin Ye extended his hand to Su Ding and then opened his clenched fist.

In his palm lay a car key.

Su Ding was startled, “You, you’re giving me a car?”

Jin Ye playfully tapped her head, “Let’s go, see if you like it.”

Jin Ye led Su Ding to the underground parking lot, where she immediately saw a brand new, incredibly beautiful white BMW parked in her usual spot!

“It seems you like it. Try it out,” Jin Ye said, holding her hand as they walked to the BMW and handed her the key.

Su Ding knew how to drive, but she rarely did so herself.

For such a valuable gift, she felt both a sense of trepidation and joy. After all, it was the latest series BMW, incredibly cool!

Su Ding sat in the driver’s seat, and Jin Ye sat in the passenger seat.

Once ready, she stepped on the accelerator and drove out of the parking lot, feeling exceptionally exhilarated.

At that moment, Su Ding’s phone suddenly rang. Jin Ye took her phone and saw an unsaved number.

“Who is it?” Su Ding asked him, turning her head.

“Don’t know, a strange number,” Jin Ye hesitated whether to answer, “Should I pick up?”

“Hang it up, it’s probably a spam call,” Su Ding said with a smile.

“Okay.” Just as Jin Ye hung up, the number called again.

“Still the same number?” Su Ding asked, about to speak, but was interrupted by the phone’s vibration.

“Mhm,” Jin Ye glanced at it.

“You can take it for me,” Su Ding focused on driving. After all, she hadn’t driven in a long time and didn’t dare to be careless.

“Alright.” Jin Ye answered the call and heard a familiar middle-aged male voice, “Xiao Xu, are you planning on never coming home again?”

The voice sounded familiar to Jin Ye. Before he could react, he saw Su Ding’s expression change.

Su Ding’s tone suddenly turned icy, “Didn’t you say back then that you never wanted me to step into the Shao family home again? Why the change of heart now?”

Shao Zheng Gang was momentarily speechless. Remembering the purpose of his call, he suppressed his anger.

“Xiao Xu, Dad was wrong back then. Dad has thought a lot these past few days and knows he wronged you and your mother. But so much time has passed, and we are, after all, father and daughter. Do you really not want your father anymore?”

Shao Zheng Gang spoke with a hint of weariness and沧桑. He still harbored resentment towards this daughter.

Su Ding remained unmoved, sneering sarcastically, “I’m sorry, but the day my mother died, my father also passed away.”

“Xiao Xu!” Shao Zheng Gang shouted in anger. After a long pause, he still couldn’t utter any accusations and let out a long sigh, “Dad sincerely invites you home for a meal. There are still things your mother left for you at home. It would be good for you to come back and collect them.”

“What things?” Su Ding asked directly.

She had left home in a hurry back then, and Shao Zheng Gang and Wang Mei Lan’s family didn’t give her a chance to take any of her belongings, so it was natural for her mother’s things to be left behind.

“Come back, I’m begging you, Dad.” Shao Zheng Gang’s tone was almost pleading.

Su Ding ultimately couldn’t bring herself to refuse. After a long hesitation, she finally said, “I’ll come over at eight o’clock tonight to collect my mother’s belongings.”

Shao Zheng Gang, hearing his daughter’s concession, repeatedly said, “Okay, okay.”

After hanging up the phone, Su Ding’s mood visibly soured. Anything related to the Shao family never put her in a good mood.

But blood relations couldn’t just be severed at will.

Jin Ye had remained silent throughout the entire conversation. He had nothing to say, only hoping to provide Su Ding with a warm home.

Seeing Su Ding’s guarded demeanor made him feel heartbroken.

Su Ding took a few minutes to calm her emotions. Noticing Jin Ye’s prolonged silence, she forced a smile and said self-deprecatingly, “Don’t you think I’m heartless? Treating my own father this way.”
