Chapter 144: Just Having Fun [1]

Chapter 144: Just Having Fun [1]

In another garden, 6 girls sat before each other, their expressions suggested that they were arguing about something important.

"You are stupid! You should have made it a private date instead of taking us with you. Argh, what a waste of a good opportunity." Elara suddenly yelled at Selene, looking angrily and sharply at her and shaking her head in disappointment.

The reason behind her anger was that she and the other girls knew about Selene’s second biggest secret. She was in love with a man, and that man was none other than Raylin who was entirely clueless about all that.

They supported her and promised to help her whenever she needed them, but they didn’t expect her to suddenly call them to go with her while talking about how tired he was.

From Elara’s view, Selene had just wasted a golden opportunity for a date with the man she loved at his lowest point. After reading many romantic books, she couldn’t help but feel extreme disappointment.

Selene blushed. "I told you many times it’s not a date. I genuinely want him to be better but I don’t know what to do. He hasn’t slept properly for the last 2 days."

At her words, Liora squinted her eyes, while Elara looked at Celestia and asked: "Celestia, is she saying the truth?"

Celestia nodded, confirming all Selene’s claims.

"I don’t think he is the one that needs help," Morgana said, remembering Raylin’s bloodlust and crazy smile, "What do you like in him? How did you fall for him out of all men?!"

Selene scratched her hair, trying to think of an answer.

It was too hard to explain.

She knew that Raylin was two-faced, he didn’t treat all people the same way. She guessed that it depended on how close the person was to him — which was actually right.

It was too understandable that maybe only Celestia would understand her as she also had seen his soft side.

Other than her, the others might see Raylin as just a sadist, not the caring person she knew. They wouldn’t understand her feelings for him.

"He is... misunderstood. You may understand if you stopped avoiding him, he isn’t as bad as the rumours you hear about him."

Elara sighed. "It’s hard to believe, though I do agree that he isn’t as bad as the rumours, but it’s your choice if your type is the bad boys," Elara smiled p proudly, "I can’t blame you for that, we are a little similar in this aspect, hehe."

Before Selene could respond, Thalia nervously asked: "Am... is there anything he likes? So we can, you know, get an idea about how to help him?"

Selene nodded and began to tell them everything she knew about him.

After a few minutes of discussion, they finally decided on a few places to not only help him, but also try to deepen his connection with Selene.

They also decided to make an excuse to decrease their number, letting only Elara and Liora go with Selene to make him more comfortable.

That was Morgana’s idea, saying that this idea would also make him focus more on Selene.

As everything was decided, Selene, Liora and Elara finally moved to where Raylin was, saying farewell to the other girls. Selene couldn’t help but feel excitement and anticipation.

Who knows? Maybe he would start loving her after this day.

•••

’They are taking so long.’ Raylin sighed as he kept staring at the sky with Glutton.

He didn’t have anything to do anyway, so he just kept waiting for them while thinking about some random stuff.

Fortunately, he didn’t have to wait for so long as he finally sensed the girls, but his expression turned into confusion when he sensed only 3.

As they were moving to him, Raylin suddenly appeared before them and asked: "What happened to the others? Did you really consider what I said?"

"Yes," Selene nodded before standing too close to him and putting his hand on her head, ’’They told me to not force you into something you don’t like, so I kept only Elara and Liora."

"Oh, thank you—" as he was going to thank them, he stopped when he noticed their expressions.

Liora’s eyes were glowing brightly, brighter than all the times he had seen this happening, while Elara had an ugly expression on her face while looking at Selene. At this moment, only one thought crossed their minds.

’Why are they so close?’

When Selene told them about her love, even though she mentioned that they were sleeping in the same bed, she didn’t talk about how close they really were.

Seeing Raylin leaving her to do whatever she wanted indifferently without a hint of lust in his eyes showed them how much he was comfortable with her.

In fact, Selene herself didn’t know that it wasn’t normal to be that close with a man. If he really didn’t love her as she did, then he was at least considering her a close friend, which gave Liora and Elara another thought.

’There is hope!’

Of course, they knew that it would be a problem if he considered Selene like his sister, but they were willing to do their best to prevent that.

As they were lost in their thoughts, Raylin shattered the silence: "So what is your plan? I’m okay with anything so long as it’s fun."

Elara snapped out of her daze, clearing her throat as she smiled. "Selene chose a perfect place for you personally. Unfortunately, it isn’t here, but outside the academy. We will have to move for some time."

Raylin’s brows furrowed, not sure of when Selene left the academy, but then he remembered her father’s position and thought that it was normal for her to know some special places.

Unknown to him, Thalia was the one who suggested the place and Selene only chose it from among other options, but technically, it wasn’t a lie.

"Fine, I’ll make a gate." As he finished talking, a spatial gate immediately materialized in front of him.

Selene suddenly held his hand firmly, feeling the comfortable warmth of his hand, and entered the gate with him, then Elara and Liora followed them quickly.

They passed through the guards and the academy’s gate before finally returning outside the academy.

"It’s been so long..." Raylin muttered while scanning the place with Glutton who was still inside him.

[It’s strange to see a normal city now.]

Raylin nodded in agreement at Glutton, all the people around him were normal, either with dormant mana cores or no cores at all.

Additionally, the stores around him were selling normal food and clothes for cheap prices, unlike the Exalted academy that only had artifacts and magical food on it.

Raylin sighed as he followed Selene around the place, passing by many interesting places.

Elyndra looked like a real city with more than just the clothes and food, it had some clubs, museums, and surprisingly, something close to cinema!

He had just realized how much the Exalted academy lacked in the aspect of entertainment, it was only focusing on training students rather than giving them fun.

’I’ll go to the cinema after seeing Selene’s plans.’ Raylin decided as he glanced at it for a last time to remember its place.

The internet didn’t have anything like movies for some reason, and he wasn’t leaving his house often to know about the cinema, so he was interested to see what kind of movies he would see in a magical world.

After a few minutes, they finally stood before a building with the name ’Myles Bookstore Café’.

Selene knew that Raylin was probably coffee addicted, so she didn’t find any other option better than this to start the day.

Raylin immediately understood her intent, having no choice but to smile at her while patting her head. "I think that’s a good choice. Thank you, Selene."

Selene smiled back happily. "No problem.

Let’s go in, I’ll choose a fantasy book for us to read together."

He gave her a nod as they entered the café.

Liora and Elara looked at each other, feeling like their existence wasn’t needed, but then they shrugged and followed them.

’I only have to give Raylin some hints when I find a good opportunity, it shouldn’t be that hard.’ Elara began to think about what type of hint she should give.

Together, they sat at a table beside a window, listening to the calming music that lingered through the café.

Every one of them asked for a different type of coffee, while Raylin was the only one that asked for 5 different types to test them. As am Exalted, he was rich enough to not get affected by cheap normal drinks.

While the waitress was making their drinks, Selene rented 2 fantasies and placed one before Liora and Elara. Their eyes lit up instantly as they began to read together.

Sitting beside Raylin and resting her head on his shoulder, Selene placed the other book before him.

"This book has high ratings, it should be good."

Raylin nodded while reading the title of the book in confusion. "Reincarnated into a fantasy novel without mana?"

Just by the title, he got a little excited to read it.

He immediately put the book in the middle, ensuring that Selene would see clearly, and began to slowly read the first Chapter.
