"I call the shots?"
"Of course." She nodded.
"Then..."
A wicked grin spread across Qing Muye's face.
Just as he was about to state his demand, the honking of a car horn interrupted him.
He then saw a car pull up beside his.
His mood soured, Qing Muye's gaze turned cold, but he still cupped Meng Jingwei's cheeks and gently kissed her lips.
A fleeting peck, he let go of her, rolled down the window, and looked at the person outside.
"Young Master Liannuo, is there something?"
Always lingering, such a headache.
A gentle breeze stirred, and He Ka Liannuo, clad in a flowing red dress, appeared.
Her smile was as bright as a flower. She brushed aside a strand of hair blown by the wind, crossed her arms, and said, "Master, you don't welcome me?"
"Is it not obvious enough?" Qing Muye showed no tenderness towards the beauty.
His indifferent attitude clearly displayed his dislike for He Ka Liannuo.
As the noble young master of the hidden clan, He Ka Liannuo had never been treated so coldly.
Instead of getting angry, she became even more infatuated with Qing Muye. "What can be done? I'm here to see Little Fairy Jingwei. You can't refuse me, can you?"
"She is my woman. Of course, I have the final say." His tone was slightly cold.
He Ka Liannuo paid him no mind and directly opened the rear door. "I have something to discuss with Jingwei. Let's go, Master."
After she spoke, Qing Muye did not move.
He Ka Liannuo rolled her eyes dramatically. "Hmph. I've seen people burn bridges after crossing them, but never have I seen someone so eager to dismantle a bridge before even finishing the crossing."
Though she grumbled, no trace of anger or dissatisfaction could be seen on He Ka Liannuo's face. Instead, she proposed an idea, "Your Yipin Ju has successfully opened. Aren't you planning to invite me for a meal?"
Meng Jingwei knew He Ka Liannuo was clever, but she hadn't expected her to know about these matters.
For a moment, she couldn't quite decipher He Ka Liannuo's true intentions.
She played by her own rules, her thoughts unfathomable.
"You didn't expose us in front of Anthony, so a meal is indeed in order." Meng Jingwei spoke.
As soon as she finished, Qing Muye immediately started the car and headed towards Yipin Ju.
"I never realized my Master was... what's that term? Ah, yes, 'henpecked'."
She felt a pang of envy for the doting affection Qing Muye had for Meng Jingwei.
Alas, his love was solely for Meng Jingwei, and no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't win it. "It's truly enviable."
As she spoke, she tilted her head and looked at Meng Jingwei. "I know your mother has always coveted the position of the Hidden Master. How about we make a deal?"
Meng Jingwei seemed to understand her meaning and raised an eyebrow. "Isn't it a bit improper to openly covet my husband?"
"I, He Ka Liannuo, like what I like, openly and honestly. I don't see anything wrong with it." She raised her hand and put it around Meng Jingwei's neck, adopting an intimate pose as if they were close friends. "Besides, your mother has been eyeing the position of Hidden Master for years. Trading your husband for it would be quite a bargain, wouldn't it?"
Meng Jingwei was unsure how much truth lay in her words.
But the thought of using Qing Muye as a bargaining chip made her a little uncomfortable.
Her fair, delicate face was adorned with a smile, and her clear eyes, mixed with a hint of sharpness, looked at He Ka Liannuo. "Young Master Liannuo, to be honest with you. In this world, besides my two children, Ah Ye is the most important to me."
They hadn't known each other for long, but perhaps it was fate.
After getting together, they both deeply loved each other and were willing to go through fire and water for one another.
Love is meeting the right person at the right time.
