Chapter 636 Hospitalized

She couldn't help but think about the terrain of the riverside road.

Though named the Riverside Road, the terrain along it was steep, with sheer cliffs on one side, making the situation extremely perilous.

Meng Jingwei did not know what situation or outcome awaited her, and within her heart, an uncontainable fear and dread surged.

That emotion sprouted like bamboo shoots after a rain, growing wildly once it broke through the earth, densely occupying her entire heart, leaving no corner for her to find peace.

"A Ye, you must not be harmed!"

At a traffic light intersection, she stopped her car. Waiting for the red light, she placed her hand on her abdomen. "My darlings, your daddy will be alright, he will definitely be alright."

She spoke to the children forming within her, seeking a sliver of solace.

As soon as the light turned green, her car shot forward like an arrow, tracing an arc on the road.

But when Meng Jingwei arrived at the Riverside Road, she found nothing, absolutely nothing.

She drove back and forth through the surveillance blind spots, searching, constantly calling Qi He and the others, but ultimately receiving no news.

Later, Daisy Tini and Wei Dongkui arrived, joining the search, but still, nothing was found.

Throughout the night, Meng Jingwei sat in the car, or got out to search for him, utterly exhausted, yet continuously ignoring Daisy Tini's reminders.

The gauze wrapped around her arm had long been stained red with blood, but Meng Jingwei simply couldn't calm down.

It wasn't until she began to feel a slight abdominal pain, worrying about the children in her womb, that she dared not continue her frantic search. Instead, she got into the car and, escorted by Daisy Tini, went to the hospital.

After the doctor's examination, they said the fetuses were in danger and required hospitalization for preservation.

Meng Jingwei’s heart was tied to Qing Muye, but she knew that if what Han Junyan had said back then was true, Qing Muye might have already…

She thought of the worst possible outcome, but if it was the worst outcome, then the only thing she could do now was to give birth to the children in her womb safely.

Meng Jingwei lay in the hospital receiving treatment, with Daisy Tini accompanying her, never leaving her side.

"I'm sleepy, you should go rest. Don't worry, since I've come to the hospital willingly, I won't go out anymore," Meng Jingwei said to Daisy Tini.

She wanted her to leave, to have some quiet time alone.

Daisy Tini sighed, "Alright, I'll wait outside. Call me if you need anything."

With that, she stood up, walked out of the ward, and closed the door.

Meng Jingwei lay on the hospital bed, looking at the IV drip, then at the ceiling, and finally turned her gaze towards the window. The emptiness and sadness within her gradually grew, slowly engulfing her.

That kind of pain, compared to the wounds on her skin, was far more tormenting.

Meng Jingwei tried to adjust her emotions but still couldn't sleep.

Daisy Tini, outside the ward, remained uneasy. Eventually, she asked the doctor to add an appropriate amount of sedative to her medication, mixed into the IV drip.

Finally, Meng Jingwei fell asleep.

The next day.

Meng Jingwei woke up. When she opened her eyes, the sun was already high in the sky.

"Why did I sleep for so long?"

In her dream, her sleep was not peaceful.

She dreamt of Qing Muye falling off a cliff and then drowning.

Upon hearing the news, she went mad searching for Qing Muye. After spending three days and three nights, she only found a bloated and disfigured body, so waterlogged that it was impossible to discern its features.

The shock of it woke her up.

"You're awake? Feeling any better?"

Daisy Tini walked over, inquiring.

She was still in her tight black leather outfit, her golden hair simply tied back. Her fair face had lost all signs of weariness, and her sapphire-like eyes were dim and lusterless.
