She let out a roar, turned around in anger, and left.
Tang Si froze in place, looking at her belly. She should be about five months pregnant.
Five months ago, they should have just started their journey from the Hidden Clan to Lan City.
So...
The child was his!
"Shi Ran, stop right there!"
Tang Si reacted and immediately went to chase Shi Ran.
Shi Ran guessed that Tang Si had likely figured something out, and was so scared that she cupped her belly and ran.
But how could she be a match for Tang Si?
In just over ten steps, Tang Si grabbed her, his hands clasped on her shoulders, and asked in a deep voice, "Why didn't you tell me?"
Shi Ran's heart leaped erratically, "Tell you what?" she pushed Tang Si away, "Let go of me, I need to go back and take care of my dad."
"I am the father of the child, I have a right to know. How dare you hide this from me?"
Tang Si's question clearly indicated that he was very sure the child was his.
Shi Ran never expected to meet Tang Si here today, nor did she expect that something she had hidden for months would be discovered by him so suddenly.
Flustered, helpless, afraid...
All sorts of emotions surged into her heart. She trembled, and with a sliver of hope, retorted, "What child of yours? This is my child with Yuan Wei!"
"Yuan Wei's child? Heh~" Tang Si chuckled coldly, "Shi Ran, have you forgotten what I do, hmm?" The man's expression darkened slightly, his charmingly handsome face tinged with anger, "You're quite capable of hiding it so well, truly impressive."
His sarcastic words showed just how angry he was.
"Are you crazy for wanting a child so much? I'm pregnant with triplets, so my belly is naturally bigger. How could it be your child! Does your family have a history of triplets!"
She made one last desperate attempt, hoping Tang Si would believe her.
"Triplets?"
Tang Si's face turned cold inch by inch.
The next moment, he grabbed Shi Ran's hand, "Come with me!"
"Let go of me, where are you taking me? Let go!" Shi Ran struggled, raising her hands to hit Tang Si. The man seemed annoyed, stopped, then bent down and scooped her into his arms, carrying her away in a princess carry.
"Tang Si, let me go, I told you to let me go, do you hear me?"
She was furious, her fists raining down on Tang Si's chest, but Tang Si had no intention of putting her down.
They walked to the sedan, Tang Si gently put Shi Ran down.
The car unlocked automatically. He pulled the door open and pushed Shi Ran inside.
Shi Ran was still struggling when Tang Si pointed a finger at her face, "Try moving again!"
His roar was full of deterrence, and Shi Ran immediately dared not struggle any further.
Tang Si leaned closer to her, pulled the seatbelt, and fastened it for her with care, even intentionally pulling the belt that tightened around her abdomen downwards.
Such a gesture was overly intimate.
Shi Ran could clearly smell the faint scent of perfume emanating from Tang Si. It was familiar, and everything seemed to return to the time in the Hidden Clan.
She was recalling the past.
As Tang Si reached for the seatbelt, his hand brushed her abdomen. Shi Ran's words, "I'm pregnant with triplets," echoed in his mind!
Three children.
As she said, if she were carrying triplets, her belly would indeed be larger than a normal pregnant woman's.
Tang Si felt uneasy.
If the child was his, it would probably be the best outcome.
He couldn't even imagine that he had suddenly become the father of three children.
But then again, if, as Shi Ran said, the child belonged to Yuan Wei?
Tang Si's heart was in turmoil, and he frowned irritably. He straightened up, slammed the car door shut with a bang, shaking the sedan.
