"I'm not going to die," Tang Si said, feeling annoyed and wanting to check out of the hospital.
But the thought of facing Zhao Wuyan after being discharged made him want to stay in the hospital even longer.
Suddenly...
A terrible thought occurred to Tang Si.
He wanted to escape the hustle and bustle of the world, to get away from everything.
"Brother, help me check out," Tang Si said to Tang Ziwei, adding, "Let's go back to Huilan City for the hospital stay."
"I'll do it. I'll help you with the paperwork," Zhao Wuyan exclaimed, her heart filled with joy at the thought of Tang Si returning to Huilan City, wishing she could take him home immediately.
They remained silent, and Zhao Wuyan, overwhelmed with happiness, turned and walked out of the ward to help Tang Si with his discharge.
Tang Ziwei walked to the bedside and sat down. "The person who saved you was Shi Ran, wasn't it?"
He didn't know how Shi Ran got his phone number, but judging by the voice, he was sure it was Shi Ran.
Tang Si was investigating Shi Ran, and Tang Ziwei had just received the news.
Tang Ziwei was also making a guess.
On the hospital bed, Tang Si's eyes were vacant, and he stared blankly at the ceiling. "Brother..." he paused, "I know you've been managing things for the family all these years. I've always been a troublemaker and worried Mom and Dad sick."
"I, I don't love Zhao Wuyan. Even though she's carrying my child, I don't want to marry her."
"Honestly, I've wronged her and feel guilty. I repeatedly asked for the wedding to be kept low-key, but now it's all over the news and known to everyone. I can't think of any way to cancel the engagement without Zhao Wuyan being wronged, but... I can barely save myself."
Listening to Tang Si's words, Tang Ziwei was a bit confused.
Yet, he had a vague sense of foreboding.
"This life is quite tiring," he sighed.
As he spoke, Tang Si suddenly smiled, turning his head to look at him. "Brother, I haven't eaten all day. Can you get me something to eat first? I don't want bland food anymore. Can you get me something with meat?"
"You shouldn't be eating right now; you need to finish your IV drip," Tang Ziwei refused.
Tang Si glared at him. "It's not that big a deal, I won't die. Why are you so fussy? Besides, look how thin I've become."
Even with Tang Ziwei's strong principles, he couldn't resist his younger brother's coaxing.
He shook his head. "I really can't do anything about you. Just lie there and finish your IV drip, and I'll be back soon."
"Okay. Hurry up though, or I'll starve to death, and you'll lose your little brother," he quipped.
From Tang Si's current speaking demeanor, Tang Ziwei found his mood to be alright, but he still felt something was subtly off.
He couldn't quite put his finger on what it was.
After all, it wasn't the first day that Tang Si didn't want to marry Zhao Wuyan.
Tang Ziwei didn't think too much about it, only wanting to quickly get some food for Tang Si.
He left the hospital and went to a nearby private restaurant to get some light meat dishes. He had them packed as quickly as possible and returned to the hospital with the food.
But on the way, he received a call from Zhao Wuyan.
"Tang Ziwei, where is Si Bing?" Zhao Wuyan asked anxiously on the phone.
Tang Ziwei was taken aback. "Isn't he in the ward?"
"Si Bing is not in the ward at all. His IV drip isn't finished, but he's already gone," Zhao Wuyan said, her voice filled with panic.
At that moment, Tang Ziwei finally realized why he had felt that Tang Si was acting strangely earlier.
It was because Tang Si was planning to leave!
Tang Si was missing.
The news quickly spread among their circle of friends. The Tang family had been discreetly searching for Tang Si's whereabouts.
Qing Muye, Han Yu, and Lu Yanming also received the news.
The brothers called Tang Si, but none of their calls went through.
