Chapter 1320 Unloving Oneself

Shi Ran, caught off guard, ran straight into him.

She paused for a moment, immediately pushed Tang Si away, and took a step back, "Hi… hello, well… long time, long time no see."

Tang Si clenched his fists, veins bulging on his forehead, and said word by word, "Long time no see?"

Those four words were practically spat out through gritted teeth, each one forced out from between his molars.

He really wanted to pry Shi Ran's brain open to see what was inside.

"Heh heh, yeah. We… haven't seen each other in quite a while."

Shi Ran forced a laugh, but the smile was more unsightly than crying.

"So, after not seeing each other for so long, why haven't you contacted me?" His sharp gaze looked down at Shi Ran, pressing closer, and he drew out his tone, "Hmm?"

Tang Si took a step closer, and she took a step back, trembling in fear.

"I heard you were getting married to Zhao Wuyan, so I… I didn't feel comfortable disturbing you." Shi Ran wore a smile even more unpleasant than crying, speaking against her will.

Although it was the dead of winter and the biting cold wind whipped her face, Shi Ran felt a trickle of sweat seeping from her back. Her heart raced with nervousness, pounding so hard it felt like it would leap out of her throat.

She swore she had never been this nervous in her entire life.

"Didn't feel comfortable disturbing me?"

Tang Si murmured the words.

Shi Ran nodded vigorously, just tugging at the scarf around her neck, covering half of her small face, wishing she could bury her entire face in the scarf, "Yes, yes. We're about to get married, we… really should keep our distance… ah…!"

Because he kept pressing closer, Shi Ran had been slowly backing away. Her heel caught on a patch of greenery, and she lost her balance, falling backward with a startled scream. Instinctively, she reached out to support her stomach, bracing herself with one hand on the ground.

This time, Tang Si did not reach out to help her. Instead, he watched with his own eyes as she stumbled ungracefully to the ground.

Fortunately, Shi Ran had some warning and didn't fall hard. But she sat there in her disheveled state, looking up at Tang Si, "Why are you standing so close to me?"

Overly worried about the child in her womb, Shi Ran’s voice involuntarily rose in pitch. Her angry eyes glared at him, her brows furrowed in exasperation.

"This is close?"

Tang Si tugged at the collar of his shirt, looking down at Shi Ran from above. "When Yuan Wei helped you with your scarf, you two were practically kissing, and you didn't say it was close." His eyes, as deep as a cold abyss, held a chilling glint. "Besides, you've slept with me. Don't you think it's a bit late to be acting all prim and proper now."

This damned woman, wanting to keep her distance from him after getting together with Yuan Wei?

He seemed to sense disgust emanating from her face.

Tang Si's heart suffered an invisible blow, leaving him feeling defeated and even questioning himself. Had he really not noticed her aversion to him back then?

Faced with the ferocious Tang Si, Shi Ran's mind went blank for a moment, unsure of how to react.

The stark contrast in his demeanor was completely unexpected.

However, she could clearly feel the hatred radiating from Tang Si.

It was she who had betrayed him in the first place, choosing to leave Lancheng. Shi Ran felt guilty, and her confidence faltered.

She lowered her gaze, pushed herself up with her hands on the cold ground, and patted the dirt off her white down jacket. "A woman like me who plays with two men shouldn't appear before you again."

When she left Lancheng, she had cooperated with Zhao Wuyan to record videos, and those videos had long since been seen by Tang Si.

Therefore, in Tang Si's mind, she was not only fickle but also a woman who lacked self-respect.

Tang Si suddenly froze, his eyes becoming distant.
